I gave up on clock tower, i could only try so many times before it made me queezy (probably the spinning) , i tried several days but gave up on it today after getting to the top and missing the last jump :S
yeah he’s not doing anything in LA either, i think they broked him.
we can get the hat IF the chest actually spawns for us. many are talking about how the chest didn’t even show, some people even opened a ‘invisible’ chest.
I got the achievement, but I didn’t get the chest.
been here for 46min so far, so every ‘few minutes’ is a farse. he hasn’t come back sense initial launch.
didn’t even see chest and successfully completed mad king. tried rezone that didn’t work to make chest show either. People said chest vanished too quickly for them as well.
yay …
I was even standing right in front of the fountain…
some of us didn’t even see the chest, and it vanished too quickly. So i’m one who didn’t get the chest even though i successfully did event. Yay….
Whips are already in the game, and when you play a Sylvari Guardian (this one i know) you get to choose a path that will let you use the whip during one of the storyline missions, When i first saw the nightmare court using the whip, i thought it was cool, but didn’t think it really did a lot of damage. After doing the storyline that allowed you to use the whip and seeing the unique skills that the whip had, a new thought came into my head as “why didn’t they make the whip useable buy a few of the classes?” I really liked the whip after using it and am kinda disappointed this is a NPC only item, like several of the other things you get to use when playing through the story lines.
The whip is a pretty cool weapon, the animations for it area already there, though, the ‘sheathed’ view of the whip looks like like you have a tentacle growing out of your back.
So yep, i’d love to see whips added, but not for just one class, several classes of the same ‘armor’ type so that the item isn’t exclusive to just one class.
seems my problem is totally different… i get kinda sick after abit on the tower, think its all the spinning effects, makes it abit difficult, i have to quit after trying for awhile and then go back in a try again later.
The issue with this is if you want one or two of said items, then it’s still cheaper to buy them now instead of thinking about later. I might be the odd one here, but I just want one shield for one of my characters.
Yeah i wouldn’t mind having the Gastly Grinning Shield for both of my guardians but im not willing to pay 27g for each of the skins, I can think of better things to spend that on.
I did get a scythe skin from a chest but I haven’t decided if i want to keep it or sell it, so its sitting in my bank.
I might buy a Mad Moon Shield tonight though, its only 12g still kind of spendy though. I donno, I can get several exotic weapons with better stats though for the same amount of gold. Sometimes looks just aren’t worth the costs.
The staff said keep in mind the recipes stay forever, but… even if they do, the crafting components dont. by the time the stuff drops enough to craft something… like say the bow for instance, 100 destroyer cores will cost you 149g at the rate right now, you wait for those to drop to where you can craft them, and then you cant get the candy corn for the ‘sigil of the night’ which you have to craft 20 of.
The pricing for the mats is really high, and, getting the mats to drop (like the destroyer cores) is really rare. These aren’t simple things to craft even if you have all the recipes for them.
Perhaps Anet should of made a purchasable skin for the 3 weapons, just for those who wanted the skin verse the crafted one, I donno. But i do think it costs a wee bit too much to craft these, even for the average player.
ok how about a sort feature like in GW1 for our character selection screen sense you only show 7 across.
sort by: Name, Level, Last Played, etc.
one feature I wouldn’t mind having back.
as i stated in another post, i have 10 toons, ranging from 6-80, I did act 1&2 on all of them, but im wondering if act 3 is required for act 4 for each toon? I completed act 3 on my guardian, but if im going to have to do it on the low level toons im sure they wont make it (being your buffed but your armor and weapons aren’t).
So is Act 3 Required to be able to do Act 4 for each toon?
I have to admit, the reward for killing mad king was disappointing.
getting a 10 slot bag as a reward… eh… I have 10 toons, ranging from level 6-80, and all of them have 10 slot bags or greater. The worst part about the bag is its soul bound, if it were account bound then it might be a little more useful (use it on a future toon).
The chest reward at the bottom wasn’t too bad, I got 3 greens, 5 plastic fangs, and 1 large bone. Went to sell the plastic fangs at Trading Post and its down for maintenance.
I’d think if the bag was going to be soul bound for killing the mad king it would be a bag that most probably don’t have, a 15-20 slot bag.
level 2 to enter, but your buffed to level 80, notice everything is level 80 in there?
10 Suggestions off the top of my head that could improve the game.

Number 8 wouldn’t be a good idea. Problem with that is people would just make the event fail several times to make it easier. Failing a event is alot easier then completing it, I see adding something like this being abused so that people could just ‘pass through them’ and get the achievement points / karma rewards.
It would be nice to have a locker similar to the PvP Locker for the PvE area, that we can store all our unique armors in so that we don’t have to carry multiple sets around with us on a character. It would be nice if the PvE Locker was also Character Specific, rather then a shared locker, being that many different armor pieces are ‘soul bound’ on use or acquire. Having a locker for the PvE Environment would allow us more room in our bank panels as we would have someplace to store our unique weapons and armors.
Which then brings me to bank panels, we currently have only 8 available to us, while that may seem like enough for those people who only have one or two characters, those of us with 10 or more characters find out bank filling up rather quickly (including our bags) with stuff and running out of room to store things for future use. Having more bank panels available would be nice as well, especially sense some of the crafting materials have no slots in the crafting panels themselves.
I’m just going to stick with skins from the gem store from now on, no more ‘chance’ items for me.
yeah well were not from TF2, alot of us are from GW1 and we are more inclined to expect things to work more along the lines of how they did there then all the other money hungery MMO’s.
Far as the Mad King Chests, They seem to be a bigger gamble then the Black Lion Chests, I actually got better loot from the Personalized Trick or Treat Bags then I did the Mad King Chests.
I opened 100 Black Lion Chests, And out of those 100, 3 Skins.
I opened 100 Mad King Chests, And out of those 100, I got 1 Skin.
I opened 144 Personalized Trick or Treat Bags, and out of them I Got 9 Sigal/Rune Recipes.
Mostly what I received from the Mad King Chests were Tonics, Candy Corn, Plastic Fangs and Chattering Skulls, I did make 2 sigils with the junk i got from the Mad King Chests.
So… Far as thanks to anet for ‘Improving chances of getting a skin’ There wont be any from here, The Mad King Chests are even more of a gamble then the Black Lion Chests were.
With the way Anet has been doing things, I hate to say it but they are quickly becoming just “Another MMO” and losing all that zeal that the Guild Wars game had, and kept many of us Guildwars players to continue to play.
I’ll keep playing, till i feel i got my moneys worth out of the game, but, The Holiday Zeal that the Good old GuildWars Name brought to us old time players, Has been lost into the typical jaw of “Micro Transactions” of other MMO’s.
So if im going to Congratulate ANet for anything this Halloween at this point, its Jumping on the bandwagon of Other MMO’s and losing the Zest and Appeal that the Guildwars Name use to bring at the holidays.
They forgot “Kill Streak Experience Booster” and “Glory Boosters” both coming from Black Lion Chests, If it weren’t for leaving these out, i’d be able to craft almost double the chests i have….
From what i’m hearing from people opening them (I haven’t opened mine) is that they are having about the same luck as they did with Black Lion Chests, Mostly getting junk, rather then anything else.

they aren’t being very specific, but im betting this is going to be simular to the chance to get the skins with the black lion chests.
“Halloween Loot” includes expiring weapons, tonics, candy corn & other holiday treats. I have a feeling that we will be just as disapointed with this as the Black Lion Chests….
I’ll hope though… perhaps they may do a better job here… but I’m expecting the same as what i got with Black Lion Chests and not getting my hopes up. Far as saying thanks, well as i’ve expressed, we’ll wait and see what happens first.
60 chests, 1 skin, so that one skin basically cost me 27,000 gems. wtf anet?
um… yeah… before you said ‘go live today sometime’ you said evening, before that, the afternoon, honestly, I’m really starting to doubt it will be out today at all. I was hoping to have some fun today in guildwars 2 sense i had nothing else to do, but, nothing yet. I’ve pretty much given up on it at this point for it to come out today. Its been pretty much as exciting as watching the grass grow.
Basically your all asking for what PvP has, the PvP Locker if im reading this right, except you want it as a PvE Locker for your characters so you can place all the various pieces of armor in it.
It’d be nice too if we could rebuild & invite people into the HoM, and have it display our armor suits, weapons, and mini’s like in guildwars 1. Heck the various stands could even be made into the PvE Wardrobe Locker/Weapons Locker.
Well so far, I have a level 80 Guardian, Ranger, Elementalist, and Necro. A level 33 Engineer, and a level 20 Thief, Warrior and Mesmer. Leveling is abit of a pain till you get to about level 45, after that its pretty quick for me though, as I’ve found a few good spots to make some good XP for Events.
I’ve been enjoying the game but I’ve noticed there are a few things missing that
could make the game better, things that were left out from GW1 that made the experience a little more fun.
1) A Material Trader – While the black Lion Trading post is all good, There are materials on there that have been overpriced do to people wanting them to get their crafting skills up. These same materials if you try to sell them have a ‘can not sell lower then merchant’ yet no merchant in the game carries them. General Merchants for the various crafting materials would be good, and would help level out some of the economy for crafting goods.
2) Pier to Pier Trading – This was one thing that made trading with people abit safe in Guildwars 1, both parties were able to see what was being given and what was being offered when they wanted to do a personal trade. This is not the case with guildwars 2, Personal trades are all at chance, you’ll either get what the other person offers or they run off with the item/coin. The black lion trade center is all good and dandy but if you want to trade with someone specific, your left to taking chances with email trades, rather then the pier to pier trade window. This in itself gives scammers a easier time scamming people out of stuff, and making it hard for the honest people to get a fair trade outside the trading post.
3) The Character Customization NPC. In guildwars 1 they added a character customization NPC you could go to to change the look of your character if you weren’t overall happy with it once you got into the game, as we all know, what you see at first may not be what it looks like once in the game do to the various lighting effects inside the game that are not in the character creation screen. There is a rumor that something will be added to the Black Lion Gem Store for just this purpose, working along the same lines as transmutation stones (1 item, 1 use) so that you can customize them again, but it has yet to be done.
4) Transmutation Stones – While were on this subject from the previous one, it would be nice if we could take and transmute the item to have the skin of light/medium/heavy armor regardless of what the armor type is, this would allow for abit more of a character customization far as appearances go and many of the armor pieces are mixable (from playing within the PvP Locker) with each other regardless of the armor type far as display. Not asking for stat transference from heavy to light, just skin working along the same lines as how the HoM skins work when applying them to a piece of armor.
5) Soulbound to Account Bound/Soulbound on Use – A Item, most likely something you would get as random loot from a Black Lion Chest, or from the Gemstore itself that would allow us to apply it to a item to change its stats from ‘soulbound’ to ‘account bound’ or even ‘soulbound on use’ so that we could swap some of the ‘soulbound’ items with other characters we have. This in itself would cut down on some of the ‘grinding’ we have to do in order to get multiple characters setup with better armor and weapons, being able to reuse that weapon we upgraded to another one from. Not asking to make them sellable, just so that we could swap them between characters.
6) Character Height – It would be nice to be able to make shorter characters, adding a little more uniqueness to the character. As it sits it seems to assume that everyone falls into the exact same height limitations for their races, but to be honest, that just doesn’t happen. Look at the real word, people range more in height in the real world then the scale we’ve been given in gw2 (or even gw1 for that matter). So how about allowing us to be shorter? Personally I would of loved to of created a Charr Cub (being from what the npc’s tell you thats when they start learning to fight, and training) and play through the story line with it, but I couldn’t even make the charr short enough to make it represent a young adult height based off the cub to adult ratio.
just some things i’d like to see happen to the game, and only time will tell if any of it will. There are other things i’d like to see like more costumes, but im sure some of those things will come along with holiday events and addon packages.
