Playable Skritt: Fantasy, Or possibility?

I feel that they should be a sub-species of Skritt that have a natural higher intelligence. If there is anything I dislike it’s the group mechanic into one playable character such as with the gibberlings in allods.

I suppose a large hive of Skritt just invented a way to always be connected to the hive-mind would be decent, but it’s hard to not overlap with the Asura (genius theme) with that. Skritt are all about being rats and it should thematically stay that way. Forage, have nests and solve local problems in a large (underground) city (nest).

I don’t dislike your idea, but honestly I prefer other playable races like. My preference list in order of “want the most”:

1 Tengu - Empire of Winds, varying clans, the emperor serves the people, what is behind that wall?

2 Dwarves - Large underground zones, rich history and lore in tandem with the arch enemies of the game world, what kind of Dwarven races are still alive?

3 Skritt - There simply isn’t much mystery about them, which can be what you like about them, but it’s not my thing.

4 Centaur - Can be fun and rich in story, but are arch enemies of Humans, so they can’t be put in.

5 Dredge - Even more boring. Nevermind.

A precursor should be purchasable for 2500 dungeon tokens of each dungeon type. Hard work – tons of grinding – but at least you are working towards a goal instead of flushing your stuff through the mystic toilet.

I second this, saw it too, but didn’t bother to post about it then.
It was yesterday (30-1) on Aurora Glade. A minor nuisance, however since the removal of the rich vein we are scrambling every node – better that they can be reached then.

In a democratic perspective it makes perfect sense that ‘The Guild’ itself moves only when the majority of it’s members move. And to be honest, I think that if even one member stays behind ‘The Guild’ stays behind as well.

They should warn people about that, though. I agree on that.

Callynn.1684 at least for Engineer your heal get on CD if you dodge or change direction your moving or shoots.

I am aware of this. You are making the choice to avoid an attack while you know you have already triggered your heal. This is your choice – and if you dislike the cooldown without pay-off, just let the heal finish and take the blow.

Heal and dodge are different actions. This is a design choice that – in my opinion – is perfectly fine.

However, what isn’t fine is that everytime I am looting a resource node I am litterally frozen in place for the duration. I cannot dodge, I cannot heal, I cannot opt to cancel the gathering process and leave. That is buggy design that needs improving.

Actually, you can hit a movement key and you stop whatever you’re doing.

Actually I can’t. Just tested it again. I have to spam the movement key before it works. Perhaps it is a bug from my side then?

I don’t know what you’re doing wrong. I just press a movement button and the animation cancels. I mine rich veins much faster this way – as soon as the third ore has been mined on the cycle, I move to cancel the whole animation playing out, hit F again and it starts immediately. This works with absolutely every channeled animation where the character is forced to stand still, at least for me.

Perhaps the difference lies in that I bound most of my movement to my mouse. I use my abilities on QWE (where W is my stun disabler / teleport / movement boost).

In this keybind setup, movement is not possible when gathering a node.

For clarity: My movement forward is set to left+right mouse and my autowalk is set to Mouse5. Neither of these can interrupt a gathering process.

He probably means:

An increased complexity in high-end fights for high-end rewards, such as, but not limited to:

- Reduced increment between boss abilities.
- Reduced response time between a red circle animation and the actual damage.
- Increased number of abilities done by bosses.
- Increased (tier) of loot from bosses.

ArenaNet is strictly against offering better statted rewards. It is what makes their game awesome to the casual and bad to the hardcore player. Legendaries are the (aesthetic) exception and the coming of Pink items has created a lot of debate surrounding this subject.

Increasing the complexity without increasing the reward however – as you stated when comparing Fractals 20 with Fractals 70 – is utterly pointless. To this end, you should probably be looking for a different game (though WoW has also been slowly moving to the casual side, more people = more money afterall).

I hope this information helps you move on to your next game. As a hardcore player myself, I will quit this game when I am done with my Legendary as well, even though I did enjoy the time spent here in this nice casual environment. It was worth my money.

For starters:

Allow us to finish the daily we did not finish yesterday – today.

That would be a big improvement already and give us 48 hours instead of 24… I totally agree that these force-to-login mechanics are WoWesque that are based on a subscriber model. They shouldn’t be in the game in the way they are now.

I just completed world explorer today (31-1 at 0:30) and did not receive any reward.
According to my friends I am supposed to recieve a gift of exploration, which I need to make any legendary.

This seems like a pretty serious bug to me, probably as a result of the addition of the new waypoints in Orr (which I explored btw).

I have completed everything 100%, double and tripple checked. Please Dev response, because I am attempting to build a legendary. Thanks in advance.

Bug or intended, I don’t know – but a way around it is stop mining as soon as u see 1 ruined resource and re-equip your pick/sickle. If you are in combat (like at the champion karka) hide under the wall until he gives up (and use invulnerability or shields to stay alive). I got a feeling it’s intended, but still it feels random as it only happened on my ele and not my mesmer.

Dueling sounds like a great idea in capital cities – but please not in LA, that city is already lagged and flooded enough due to it being a crossroads.

In fact, off-topic a bit, I don’t understand why they don’t just make portals to other capital cities in all capital cities. Might make a post about that.

turn soulbound into accountbound

in Suggestions

Callynn.1684

Use a transformation stone. Soul-Bound becomes account bound when it is transformed.

I don’t think this should be needed. I agree that soulbound is a silly requirement for a game that already has account-bound unless if there is a financial driven incentive (a.k.a. the gem store gets fatter).

The core reason for soulbound should be to protect the user from keylogging mistakes, but that is also the reason for account bound. So it’s a needless double protection.

As for market stability, both soulbound and accountbound cannot be traded on TP, so no problem there either.

So... When are Guild Wars coming?

Callynn.1684

This won’t work in the open world and this won’t work in specific GvG instances either.

Open world: PvE content and PvE loving players will get in the way.

GvG: Not every guild is online at the same time, making for empty one-sides battles. Guild A controls the whole zone till they go to bed, and Guild B then takes over. That’s why they made WvW, and even then it gets one-sided a lot.

No, this is a good idea, but it can’t be implemented.

What I want is the abiliy to pick any personal starting zone and story regardless of my race. Why can’t I be an adopted human in an Asura family who is a genus and does an Asura personal story? Why can’t I join a Charr Warband as a Sylvari?

I think it should all be possible without major lore adjustments so I don’t have to play a race I don’t enjoy just to see all personal stories.

Alternative way to obtain lodestone

Callynn.1684

Dear ArenaNet,

Your philosophy is for us to have fun in this game and even though you strongly oppose farming – as that is something you consider to be not fun – you place in this game the concept of Legendaries that require insane amount of farm to obtain.

Now I have to say that after obtaining my 50th charged lodestone they somehow started to miraculously not drop anymore for 7 days in a row. This lead me to the agreement on that farming isn’t fun. But how to solve this Legendary problem then? We can’t have everyone running around with them, that would defeat the purpose of their status.

My suggestion is: Allow us to purchase 1 lodestone of any type for 250 dungeon tokens from any level 80 explorable dungeon. This allows us to play in a decent variety of dungeons (from memory, CoE expl, Fractals and Arah expl) while still working towards that goal. And don’t tell me that CoE droprate for lodestones is decent because it’s not (5 runs not even a core, let alone a lodestone).

Will this take ages for us to obtain the legendary? Yes.

Is this more fun than killing Sparks 4 hours per day? Definitely.

Looking forward to replies or improvements to this idea. For all I care you up the price to 500 tokens, at least let me have fun while aiming for that legendary!
