This was roughly my 12th time getting the achievement, but not getting the achievement. An all around disappointment, a week in and this thing has been bugged since day one.

I’ll agree with this, and it’s something that should have been dealt with ages ago, clickables aren’t exactly a new thing. Anet seem to think carpal tunnel is a badge of pride and honor. . I disagree wholeheartedly.

At the very least they should permit auto-clickers on the condition of consumables/clickables only. Not much grey area for abuse in there that I can think of off the top of my head. The only thing would be the drink achievement, but seriously. . No.

Hyperbole is always fun!

I’ve done it twice in random overflows now (6 minutes). It requires a small amount of coordination, and people to be comfortable with melee. On top of that proper buffs are a huge dps increase for everyone: Scarlet potion, power food, Vigil buff. It also helps if people start coordinating more than 5 minutes out from the event, seriously. Mortars and embers can certainly help, but are definitely not required.

The only major melee threat the boss has is a constant 3 swing, 360 degree AA combo, each hit can do roughly 5k damage on a zerker. Intelligently moving in and out based on the swings can allow a zerker to maintain a high damage presence without falling over by the end of the attack chain. Knight’s and Soldier’s can take the AA and just duck out periodically to wait for heal to come off cooldown when needed. Guardians should be sharing aegis whenever possible to people around them.

I’m assuming based on the 50-50-50 split, maps can only hold 150 people, so if your current knight is capped, that means there’s another one somewhere that isn’t. If you’re not moving to the other knights, shame on you.

Complaining does this game’s community no good, we should be trying to better ourselves collectively. These events are the perfect tool for accomplishing that. Condition builds being shafted in this fight is rough, and a bad design choice, but that aside everything else still stands.

I don’t really see any hyperbole, there are plenty of unlucky people who have been in multiple failures, just last hour my tally went to 8 straight.. In a previous thread I said 6, but I forgot I didn’t get boxes on the last round(how I was keeping track), so it was 7 straight instead.

We can follow all of the tips you had in your post, but it doesn’t change the fact that we can always get stuck in a server with many people who don’t read the forums, and wont bother to do any of this, nor follow advice in map chat.

Hyperbole comment was geared more towards the claim of nigh impossible/impossible etc. I’ve had a few bad streaks myself.

Your reply ultimately boils down to my last paragraph. There will always be resistance from lazy people who want to be carried, but eventually they will get tired of getting nothing. They will quit outright, or adapt to the new style of content; a new style that Anet has specifically stated is meant to try and increase the skill of the general player base in some form or another.

I shout those tips out before every fight, if even one person adapts it’s a win in my book. Eventually those individuals start to add up, and we begin to see a higher success rate on content like this. It’s up to us to make ourselves better, not for Anet to shy away from challenging content to baby the weakest links. I for one have mostly enjoyed the content, more so after the forced split. The bugs are really my only major killjoy, outside of the questionable decision to alienate condition builds during the knights, as my main is a condition build.

My question to you is simple, Boneheart: why are you being so combative towards honest and fairly understandable reasons/answers?

Was that an satisfying ending? **SPOILERS**

I thought it was satisfying in its own way.

Scarlet is an engineer, not a fighter. Fighting her defenses and breaking her concentration is a battle in and of itself. I got a kick out of how increasingly stressed and snappy she got as the fight wore on, because that was the real victory when you’re fighting a mechanical/social engineer. You overloaded her and she lost. That felt like a very legit kind of defeat; not every fight is physical.

The way she breaks down at the end from having to account for too many factors was, to me, a lot more satisfying a defeat than the finisher banner ever could have been.

(Besides, we did fight her directly in the invasions, and it wasn’t all that satisfying then either because it was 200 versus 1. Absent her becoming the Hulk or taking Elixir X, this was a great way to do it)

I felt pretty much the same about the last 2 encounters. It wasn’t as obviously visceral as going toe to toe, but this was a thinking man’s victory. I very much liked that, and for those who prefer the old fashion style, well they still got to stake a banner through her gut. Everyone got at least a taste for their preference.

As for finalizing chapter 1, that’s supposedly on the 18th. It’s hard to say whether or not Anet can tie up all of the loose ends in a convincing manner or not, but I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt for the next week and a half. If the why’s aren’t answered then, I’ll join in on the disappointment.

Six Minutes to Knightfall still bugged

It’s getting pretty frustrating, to be honest. I now should have had it on about 8 different occasions. The fact that this bug was reported on day 1, and still isn’t fixed going onto 4 days later is an outright shame. To make it even more frustrating, a bunch of random people keep getting it on maps that are failing to even complete the event.

It’s time to get kitten together, and if that isn’t possible the 2 week release cadence needs to be reconsidered as it’s clearly not allowing for quality work.

Nothings against TTS, but it seems you need a guild of 150 people whiling to do the event in an overflow, with all the summoning consumable available to get achievement nowadays.

I’ve gotten it on a regular non-TTS overflow as well, as stated previously in the thread. It doesn’t require anything beyond some cooperation, and people learning how to play with a melee weapon and food/potions. In other words, it’s a general l2p issue.

Twice, but the achievement isn’t working. I did it once with TTS in 2 minutes and 1 seconds around-about, and again in a random overflow with 40 seconds to spare. Neither time was the achievement awarded. Short of being one of the lucky few that get the bugged achievement at complete randomness, I wouldn’t go in hoping for it until it’s fixed in another patch.

Marionette Achievement Bugs

I’m having the same problem with chains 4 and 5. I’ve completed both of them on several occasions, not getting hit by the marionette and all 5 arenas succeeding. My load times are only 2-3 seconds. I’ve tried staying out of the AoE entirely, and evading in it, no luck so far. About to give chain 4 attempt #5, I’m getting very frustrated. Chains 1/2/3 all went without a hitch. I should also note that I got chains 1 and 2 without so much as touching the telegraphs, so you apparently don’t need to actively evade the attack.

I’m also having trouble getting one of the last 2 chains to give me credit for killing the warden, but I’m not sure which of the 2 chains it is. Buggy as hell, hopefully we can get some light shed on this problem.

IMO Pay to Win

Wow….every content release these posters show up with some twisted definition of what Pay 2 Win is (and how GW2 is now OFFICIALLY P2W).

Reasons it is not P2W:
1) Content you are “winning” is optional and not required to progress in the actual game.
2) “Paying” in this case gives you no actual gameplay advantage in the actual game itself.
3) Content CAN be completed without PAYING at all (so I’ve read….have no intention of entering SAB at all).

So this is NOT Pay 2 Win….at all.

1) By that definition, playing any game is optional, so no game can ever be P2W.
2) Infinite Continue Coin means : no need to “grind” beforehand continue coins or lives. No need to abandon the instance and lose all checkpoint progress to get more lives/coins if you died more than expected.
3) Pay2Win is bad but would be an all time low if it was just plain impossible to win without paying. That becomes more Pay to Play at this point :p

2 sounds like a convenience buy to me, which is what the gem shop is suppose to be. Seems to be fitting into their stated intent. Either way, 3 hours of champ farming should cover most of the cost of the coin anyway. . So, you’re basically buying 3 hours worth of time and little more. We aren’t talking about an item that can’t be acquired without paying, and we certainly aren’t talking about an item that takes a small eternity to acquire through the game (giving more of an illusion of being able to get the item realistically without paying.)

Most of all, you get nothing of real value with your purchase of the coin. Last I checked, the tribulation mode skins were all bound so there’s no profit to be made from running tribulation mode. It’s basically the same as complaining about Transmutation stones being pay to win. In the end it’s all about a few personal item skins, cosmetics certainly aren’t advantageous unless being a kitten somehow translates into extra damage or health. The day they put in a legitimate pay 2 win item, I’ll be right here kittening with you, but today just isn’t that day.

With that said, I’ll leave this thread to you gentlemen to continue bickering about as it pleases you. Good luck with the rest of your SAB time.

Beat W2 normal, and W1 z1&2 trib without an infinite coin. Took 78 lives, which required only a small amount of bauble farming in combination with the free coins handed out. Most of those deaths were trib mode.

Infinite coin is a crutch for bad players, and nothing more. Looking forward to more SAB. Does it even need to be mentioned that the coin can be bought without spending a dime? Hard to be pay to win when you can get it through normal game play just as easily. Roughly 3 total hours of champ farming.

Sounds like nothing more than a convenience item to me. We can talk again when they introduce a SAB item in the gem shop that 1 hit K.O.s all of the assassins, or makes you invulnerable/float.

They have already stated old dungeon updates will be rolled out through the living story. People shouldn’t complain until they have all of the details.

They have also stated, numerous times, the living story to date has been a series of content tests to gauge what the players do and don’t enjoy, so that they can create/update more successful permanent content in the future.

Seriously, most of this can be found with the dev tracker and Reddit.
