So how are peoples new builds coming along? I haven’t played much lately just wonder what the Elementalist community is up to?

I am kind of curious on how many people switch out from 30 in Arcane to a lesser amount, It would do us wonders if Anet could show us some statistics on that. I will assume the vast majority of players that had 30 in arcane respect. If Anet takes that as any indication that we are not happy with the results of the changes made perhaps they will give us more appealing traits for us to use.

yes please respond dev, I have not posted much on these forums because I was content with how Elementalist played and I figured hey it might not be the all start uber killing machine but it most certainly is a very fun and unique class to say the least. Now limiting our builds further and limiting our play style that is already some what limited it is getting quite appalling. I do hope some dev or forum mod. can pass along this message, or at least flag it for review.

I know this class is not for beginners although this is my first class i picked and have yet to actually spend any kind of time on an alt but come on. How hard or complex do you want to make this class. Or are you just trying to eliminate the remaining Elementalist from the game, so you can then cut the class completely out of the game? Seriously what is the point of anyone picking Elementalist. Here I can answer it so they can have fun, but you are taking the fun out of it with each patch.

I can actually take quite a few mobs on myself , I do not use zerker gear as you say, I rarely die of course I was playing a bunker staff ele, full of vit/tough/condition
I have TA set and AC set depending on if i need more healing power but as it turns out healing power stat is rather lacking imo. And my comments in this thread havent been Ele sucks and I am whining, rather I think ele is good and all other classes should be brought to this lvl instead of spam 1 or 2 and wins. Now go to your guildy that plays Ele and tell him good job.

Right people don’t choose to be an Elementalist because it is fun. Everyone knows that players that choose Elemntalist as a toon is a self hating bigot that only finds pleasure in torturing themselves with hordes of undead ripping them to shreds in a matter of one secound. Once Anet caught wind that players were now having fun and actually enjoying Elementalist and they were not self hating people. Well you know what they did they took that away from them. Elementalist is meant to be the profession of self hating people only this is why its my favorite class. I do not play games to have fun no that is not an option.

D/D is next on the hit list I am willing to bet once we have grown to accustom to that play style. I say around Christmas holiday event. By the new year they will have effectively eliminated the Elementalist from the game and replaced it with Super-Warrior where every skill is insta-kill.

told ya every battle is epic, no matter what enemy you face you will be fighting for your life. If they made all classes like this they would have one hell of a game, sure it wouldn’t be appealing for most casuals but the dedicated players or “hard core” or more experienced players would appreciated. If all other classes had to some how know and use game mechanics it would make those duller classes fun to play, but as it is now Elementalist is the only fun class. Just my opinion.

I won’t say it is our only viable role as heal and support because I have not tried all builds but I will say it was the only build i enjoyed playing now with it gone the fighting is boring the thrill of engaging an enemy is gone and now it has become a tedious process in which I find no joy out of. I do not pvp, WvW, or Spvp or whatever I am just talking about PvE.

Agreed the sensation of being an Elementalist with a unique playstyle from other class is now almost on par with other classes. I didn’t like any other class because they all felt stale now the one class that I enjoyed and was constantly doing something is now just meh. My finger ballet has come to an end. As the curtain falls on our class once again I say thank you for taking away the reason I log in.

Elementalist: (description) the one class that makes every battle feel epic. whether it be a normal deer, or a champion golem your fight will have all the look and feel as if you are a pro. You will be in a constant fight for your life and the outcome is almost certainly already determined before you even begin.

So will there be a patch tomorrow? I am wondering because there wasn’t 5 pages of patch notes so I assume that you could not or would not fit it all in one patch and will be adding to it tomorrow, that is when the class balancing patch comes right? o.O

I am disappointed in some of the changes made with this patch, mainly the evasive wave change, If it was not intended to have it as a blast finisher well I say to you perhaps you should re think that. Arcane was the only worth while thing to get 30 points in, now I have no trait line that lures me into putting 30 points into. I like the elementalist play style it was unique and different and had me constantly moving and dodging. Elementalist doesn’t seem to be a completed class I have no intention of playing other classes. I hope you guys will be able to make the class more complete if it takes some months i guess ill see ya in some months but until then I think I am done, I got my monies worth, then robbed at halloween event but oh well. Feed back take another look at the classes after your done with your fixing and start balancing it. Please note I do not pvp I have a crappy pc lol

So I do not enjoy playing d/d builds and much prefer staff but as it is now I am trying to adapt to this change and having a hard time breaking my habit of dodge rolling to get might, or heals. I was very comfortable playing staff ele and had a lot of fun doing it. I have tried to play other professions but Elementalist was my first and really the only class i enjoy playing. I just hope after these “fixes” they will then balance the classes. If not well I got my monies worth and enjoyed the game and play style of elementalist.

I hope this gets patched in soon I am very thrilled about this information, I was a bit disappointed about the chest I opened. Good Job Anet. You guys are handling a situation that caused some serious concern. I just brushed it off because I knew I was gambling and I used in game currency to buy gems. Good luck to all and hope Anet continues to show their support to the community.

I want to say Elementalist. Once you get the play style down it is very addicting and satisfying. I am speaking in terms of Pve, I dont play much PvP but I do warn you after playing an Ele for a while you probably wont enjoy lvling any other class after that everything else will feel dull, that is just my opinion though I honestly havent been able to lvl an alt because ele has been my main and I just love how it plays. With that said Goodluck hope you choose a class that suits you.

I spent 20g in game to buy gems managed to get 2 light mantle skins with all the keys that i bought, It isn’t what I wanted but its the gamble I certainly am glad they have the gold to gem transfer thing because I wouldn’t spend RL money on that kind of gamble but in game gold can be change to them so I gave it a shot and that was that, I can make my money back in game. For those who spent a lot of money on a gamble and didnt see it for what it was well I am sorry. You clearly have no self control issues, I also have no self control over my virtual spending habits because I spent all my in game gold lol but I am not upset because what i lost was virtual wealth. I do work and I don’t have all day to make that gold back, but over time I will have it again.

I agree I can do a lot with staff, I have found myself taking on champions solo and nearly succeeding by myself in Or however I tend to die because of the respawns on other mobs but when I have one other player with me champions drop pretty easy.
I used to use descriptor/dagger for solo but now a days you will just see me run around with staff so no need to switch I am ready for what ever is in my path.

I completely agree I find it frustrating that I lvled Ele as my first toon, because I wanted to try others but every time i go to start an alt I get to fighting some mobs and feel no joy, I have grown accustom to my stance dancing, finger ballet and I find it thrilling and magnificent each time I am able to take down a mob/groups of mobs with my ELe, or to come up upon a veteran or champion and shoot for the stars and when I win I am whole heartly happy, when i die and come close I say well at least i put up a good fight. If i get stomped on hard I will try a different build or weapons to see how effective that is on it, I am always trying to learn new ways to execute the various mobs.
All in all I am happy to have my Elementalist but I wish i could have experience the game for a different point of view first. :p oh well lets just keep on Elementaling it up

Seriously, Magic Find is fine as long as you are still able to do your role in the party then who cares what you are wearing. Hell if you want to be naked and are still able to do the dungeon successfully and not die more than a few times sweet. I like how this game has no inspect feature, and no I do not use magic find gear since I have yet to farm that dungeon, I am nearly complete with AC gear set for elementalist which is nice for parties, but I will be getting a MF set as well and will be wearing it in parties only after I have done the runs enough to know how to do them successfully. I do not want some party leader dictating what i should wear or how i should play. If you have a problem with a party and are not able to complete the task you have options, you can leave the party, you can find some replacements, you can run with guildies that will be more inclined to be team players, it is up to you on what you want to do. If you want to be a dictator then be a guild leader who is very controlling … I doubt you will have a lot of people in your guild though.

Well I can certainly see why your friend would like to have the option to have them re skinned, I doubt it will happen because there are far more issues that are being address, also I don’t mean to belittle your friend or his/her phobia, but this is a game nothing in it is real and if everyone with a phobia asked developers to cater to their needs we would have alot of boring games out there. I hope your friend can over come this fear perhaps the game can help with it by going on a spider killing rampage, ^^ I am afraid of heights and I am a painter and have fallen of a ladder a few times, Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do. Other times You can just avoid it ^^

wow I have yet to go to the higher lvl areas I am lvl 80 to be honest i dont even remember how i got to be lvl 80 I havent completed my story yet, I suppose I just got lost in the massive world. I will make my way to those higher maps and see how the community is on my server, I am on Blackgate I was on tarnished coast and I miss it lol The role players can be entertaining and I join in at times, ^^ been trying to transfer back.

I just started the guild and I really don’t want it to become super big I think max amount of people I want would probably be around 30-50 ppl
I would like to make a tight knitted circle of friends, that would like to pve, dungeon runs, dabble in WvW and generally have fun, I dont want to take this game with a serious approach and would like individuals that are looking for fun.

I really enjoy elementalist albeit I probably have a biased opinion because it is my first toon and has been lvl 80 for awhile. I like it because every battle seems intense and I am always on my toes thinking up strategies on how to approach the next mobs. The variety of weapons I can use is fun to toy around with, I like dagger/dagger when I am really in the mood for some intense action, scepter/dagger when I feel less daring and want a little more safety from the mobs, and I role staff in dungeons or to take down massively grouped mobs if I know a an event is going to have many mobs I I love staff. With that being said I have not really played any other class pass lvl 5 because I am just so content with my elementalist I dont really pvp because well my pc is just crap when it comes to so many players I will probably do some spvp soon though ^^ anyways that is my opinion I hope you would give it a try it really is a style that is fun to play.

I don’t know why but I can’t past lvl 5 on any other class, I am lvl 80 ele as my main and my first class but I have tried to make and play others. I just love how the style seems more intense and thrilling I wish other classes could keep me engaged in the game as elementalist does.
Sorry if this has been repeated I am sure it has, but I finally was able to log on to forums since launch of game.

Can anyone let me know if there is a class similar to Elementist play style I haven’t tried engineer yet. I just want a class where I am engaged in thought and running plans in my mind on how to approach what ever task is before me.

By the gods. I am able to get in to the forums, My first time since launch, tell me this isn’t a dream.
I have tried Sinth’s method numerous times but it never worked up until today, but geez it sure took more than 15times. I thought I was always going to be the one peeking in the window with out actually going into the store. Forever destined to watch, listen, but never to speak, but alas my voice can be heard and heard it shall.
Anyways I am happy to finally be able to post on forums, i hope they are able to fix these issues.
