Guessing Caselia was one of the people who were abusing the transfer to make a lot of gold. There is a fine line between an exploit and abusing game mechanics for profit. Yes it’s not an exploit only because server transfers were never meant to be free and with no cool down. That’s the only reason you guys aren’t banned for doing it.
They let people do it to settle server populations after launch and let people get coordinated with their friends/families/guilds on appropriate servers. Not so you guys could make kitten tons of gold farming orichalcum ore.
Hence the 24 hour cool down. Which eventually (probably within 2-3 weeks) you’re going to have to pay to transfer servers and it will have a week cool down of one week, as was intended before the game launched. They are probably just waiting for the guesting feature first.
As a side note – did anyone notice how the last few days before they added in the 24 hour cool down the price of orichalcum ore was around 2s? As soon as the cool down was turned on the price shot straight back up to 3s. I WONDER WHY.
FYI I never even knew you could server transfer to farm the same node or to get unbroken skill points until I read this thread. As to answer your question as to why Orichalcum went up in value can be more than one reason. The server cool down can be one of the reasons, but there could be another.
If you’re auto locked from gaining loot from doing a specific event or using a certain style of gameplay. Then it’s Anet telling you by force that you’re not allowed to be in this specific area for a certain duration of time. Prevention of drops by grind? Sounds like they’re forcing their way of how they want us to play the game. If they want to discourage me of doing it then add a better system that doesn’t prevent me from gaining anything, but causes me to obtain less. But I’m against that as well as I like to play the game how I want too, not how they expect me to.
To be more clear, it has no negative impact on the economy, on other players, or anything in the game whatsoever really.
The only thing it is doing is helping you reach the end goal of completing the puzzle, and therefor should be classified as nothing but “creative thinking.”
Speed runs were conidered an exploit. Anything novel is an exploit, expect a ban.
I assume you’re referring to speed running dungeons, but no that wasn’t an exploit it was just being used for profits which was not what “Anet expected” instead of intended.
View the definition of an exploit and that will be your answer.
Don’t do it? Yet they’re “forcing” the player to move zones, but if it’s not rewarding why would you want to move zones?
I’d prefer if they just allow you to favor a few dyes, perhaps five or so that can be used on your alts.
Where do you see the exploit in this? Anet already said “it’s not an exploit” as someone pointed out earlier not to mention with this “one day transfer” they can go ahead and change servers to farm the same node again if they please it’s the same as running around the map looking for various nodes except changing servers is only quicker and easier. But now we have the “One Day Free Transfer” in place which makes it less productive.
GW2 is GW2 while WoW is WoW. People who like to play WoW will go play the expansion and then eventually bore of it and come back here while people who couldn’t careless for WoW which is probably the mass majority of GW2 player base won’t even bother moving.
I enjoy the music when it plays a good tune, but I wish I could choose which tune it played in specific regions to match the setting. As for the VA it’s meh, I’d honestly prefer to pick my own voice at the beginning of the game rather than listen to my character talk in the cutscenes.
WHINE! I’ve been playing since before the official launch and I haven’t seen a thing of bots and most especially an army of bot disrupting my game. But, then again I don’t really pay attention to what OTHERS are doing in the game I’m playing MYiii game when I’m playing and don’t really CARE what OTHERS are doing.
Go to the human area level 15-25 by a bridge south west of a waypoint below a town on the western side of the map. There’s about 20 bots there spamming, waiting for the event to restart.
Farming nodes by swapping servers doesn’t screw up the economy, playing around with TP to gain profit is screwing up the economy.
And no don’t remove free transfers and close off full servers, I like free server transfers because I’m dissatisfied with the current server I’m on so I’m hopping around once a day trying to find one I like.
Change your hotkey order.
They specifically said only your base stats and level will scale down and your gear will not scale. It’s your “achievement”.
Combos? As in using skills? If so then not that I know of unless you want to macro to your keyboard.
Why would you want to move to lower level zones when higher level zones are more fun and exciting? I HATE Orr but I like staying in it for the high level materials and mass amount of DE’s for karma. I’ll explore other areas when I feel like doing them.
Diminishing Rewards is just pulling a Nexon. “Let’s hurt the majority of the community to make up for the few bots that exist.” There’s more legit players than botters, therefore to punish the mass for the few. Reminds me of America.
Warrior because I’m OP.
Glitch mate. I had the same happen to me when I was in the lower levels.
What part of “Everything is endgame” do people not understand? Read the front page for a change.
So yeah. I’ve been 80 for about 2 weeks. I’m 400 armorsmith and 400 jewelcrafting.
I have made 2-3 full sets of exotics. I have almost 100% world completion.
I have done almost everything there is to do in this game. And I’m not playing 24/7. I just set myself to a task and do it.
There is no feeling of end game. Doing events over and over and over and over and over is a grind. Doing dungeons over and over for their gear skins is a grind.
There are no epic fights, no raids, most of the dungeons are poorly designed with trash being harder than the actual bosses. (Seriously, I can solo the first 2 bosses in warden wing Arah. – Really?)
The game is a grind – the PvP feels lackluster at best, especially wvw. Zerg vs zerg is not my idea of fun. I pretty much ignore the objectives in wvw and run around just looking for solo fights or 1v2’s 1v3’s.
Where is the end game? Where are these “Dynamic Events” you are speaking of because I haven’t ever seen them.
And to you people, who I have seen post this in so many other threads. To answer your question “The game has been out only 3 weeks, what do you expect?”
I expect a game, upon release to have enough content to keep me busy until new content comes out. Not to have 2 days worth of event seeing and then do those same events for hours and hours.
Let me make this clear for you mate. EVERYTHING is endgame.
Everyone seems to forget the prices for tier 3 cultural set was originally 1-3g per piece until the karma to gold “exploit” as ArenaNet calls it happened. This includes faction gear and cultural karma weapons. They were all increased ten times the original value.
Give us Dragonbrand, we’ll take ‘em. Hell, give us Henge. Get in Yak’s way, Yak mows you over.
Says the guy who lost to Henge of Denravi by over 100k points.
That would ruin the point of making a new character.

Intelligent or not it’s actually true so it’s relevant.

So basically a mass majority of you are saying to not reward players for being skilled and knowing what to do to beat a dungeon quicker than “expected” and to punish them?
I assume most of you are incapable of speed running a dungeon efficiently so you’re happy that Anet is punishing everyone else for being able too.
Good job.
P.S. The sales you mates keep mentioning “They already have your 60 dollars so you’re irrelevant” is incorrect as most of the money goes to the publishers (NCSoft) and all the micro transactions are directly funded to the developers (ArenaNet). Therefore the people who actually have the most say for anything are the ones who use the cash shop regularly.
