So I have a 7 month old Guild advertisement in the “Looking for…” Part of this forum, and it started giving me and some other people who viewed it a weird problem, like a month ago. The title of the thread was there, but otherwise it was blank, but once the comments of the thread exceeded 1 page and went over to the second page, the problem was fixed.

But I don’t want the thread to have 2 pages and if I make it 1 page again then the glitch comes back.

True; druid is invulnerable, but reapers and DHs have more dps than rangers atm

It feels like Anet makes one thing OP and nerfs the rest to the ground and then a month later; nerfs the OP thing and makes something else OP. Can’t Anet just make everything balanced and leave PvP alone?

Anet has abondoned the casual player who just wanna quickly come on and have fun. I mean really:

PvP is garbage #OPReapers #CheeseDragonHunters Anet should’ve had something called “beta-tests”, the unbalancedness is rediculious. Every balance “update” they just nerf one thing and make another thing OP. Can’t they just make PvP balanced and leave it alone? There is no tanks (not viable at all, unless you play unkillable druid, try tanking longer with a warrior or gaurdian than a druid can), just DPS. PvP is now “Who can hit first and the hardest”

WvW is literaly a waste land, to big, rarely see anyone. And servers are unbalanced aswell oh yea… Anet know, but doesn’t care.

PvE is a drag, just a real grind fest really.

Yo Anet, check a game called: Dota 2, you might learn a thing or two from them.

To conclude, why should we spend countless of hours to grind for something that ultimately doesn’t mean anything?

We accommodate all types, whether only PvP or PvE. Regarding players with an primary focus on a specific game mode, when you join, you can see that our ranking system accommodates each game mode preference, whether it is PvP/PvE/PvX (No WvW because we are megaserver based and at the current time and near future we do not intend to focus on WvW).
We have players who primarily focus on PvP or PvE, but the majority prefers PvX (PvE & PvP).

Are you talking about making an alliance with a lot of small guilds?

I will have to warn you, not all players will want to do the same events over or does not have time to do them twice, especially if it won’t benefit them by doing another guild’s events, but there will be guilds with people who would want to help others especially if their help is reciprocated.

Wish you the best of luck, this is an Great initiative, I like the idea of smaller/new guilds working together to progress further, but unfortunealty me and my Guild have decided a while ago that we will rather concerntrate on making ourselves Awesome from within rather than making an alliance.

Was quite nice, except for all the bugs that the beta weekend brought

Thing is, the MMR isn’t broken, it just sucks, its bad. I’m pretty sure I’m not a bad player, my last game, the enemy started saying to not go to my point (which I was defending) because I was just that good, they couldn’t kill me once (using my own ele build even tho I had some lagging). When I join with my Guildies, we usually win +90% of our games, but after said games and I’m alone again, I start getting these utterly bad players who do not know the basics of PvP nor their roles or classes themselves. Guess this is what I worked more than half the year to achieve (already rank 80 and I’ve 3 lv80 eles, so I kinda do know ma stuff). And the part of how the MMR fails us, like this one match 5 (light + medium classes with dps builds) against the other team that has 2 warriors, a guardian and 2 other dps. Or that match where we had 2 thieves, I asked one to switch and got “thieves were updated, bro”, I told them that 1 must switch or we would horribly fail, then we did then there are premades, you get those Bad premades that you only wish for your enemies, but then you end up with them, why should I suffer these weird-kitten strategies that they come up with? Come on Anet, what game do you want to make here? Is it going to be like WoW? Get players in and then when they play it, it sucks!

This sucks, without question, but will it be fixed in HoT? And what was that again about keeping our wr at 50%? And we all know that there is no difference between un/ranked matches, i think Ive actaully gotten better matches in unranked than ranked….

I really do not want to be paired with players who do not know how to PvP, where I have to explain what to do 50% of the time.

The problem is that when I open the launcher, it starts downloading this 1 file, it never stops. This started after the last big update a week ago.

Well firstly, our country has only heard rumours of this strange thing called “fibre cables” , that and unless people actually know what happens in Africa and not just what CNN says, then do think twice before commenting on our situation here and populations playing the game. Since yesterday night, Ive had this 1 file remaining, the game restarted with new build, it downloaded all files but this 1 and it has downloaded more than 30MB. So how big must this 1 file be?
Also, when I press “Log In” it would log me in and open the game

So basicly, has anyone else gotten in this situation and how long did it take (and how much MB), because as you can imagen; the internet speeds in Africa arent that great.

Yeah ofc, we actually got 2 new players today that is already doing fractals at an early stage, putting that aside, anyone who would like to join a guild that I described above, is welcome. I believe the best way for you to get the feels for our guild is (if you want): I’ll invite you (you’ll only be able to talk in g chat because of being in an American server and all), but then at least you would be able to see how our community is and also importantly, if we play on a time that you do.

Good too hear. Ive been trying to contact, but unfortunately it seems we weren’t on at the same time these last few days also regarding the time, seeing that you’re in Poland which is GMT+2, which is also my time zone: Our guild’s activity starts climbing around 15:00/16:00 and dails down around 23:00 on the weekdays, still need to see this weekend from when to when are the most active.

Finer Tuning Restrictions: It would be nice to have an feature that stops players in guilds to just take everything out of the guild bank at once and then leave the guild. Some guilds that this has happened to would understand. Maybe the game’s GMs can punish these players by 1. Transferring items back if they are still with the player (seen as stolen goods) otherwise; strip him down, starting with his golds and 2. Make him suffer, everyday +1g is taken from his wallet and transferred to the “victim” guild’s bank.

Guild Punishments: Say if a player is in a bad mood and swearing and stuff; then you wont be able to block him in the guild chat, but what if the officers or guild masters could block him from the guild chat?

No.. it is quite literally Free to play. A “free 2 try” approach would imply there is a trial period which there is not. Nothing is stopping one of these free to play players from playing their free version until the inevitable day when the GW2 servers shut down for good.

It’s basically a freeware version, but unfortunately the term freeware seems to have fallen out of use.

It’s the MMO equivalent of AVG Free, downloadable Winzip or numerous other programs (about 1/3 of the software on my computer actually): You’ve got the free version which you can keep using indefinitely but it’s very heavily restricted – enough to give you an idea of what the program can do but not enough for more than basic use – then you have the paid version which has all the functions available.

How is this different to free-to-play games?

In most free to play games removing restrictions is a matter of paying an on-going subscription or a series of microtransactions to remove each one individually (sometimes both – you pay to unlock one feature for a short time, then have to pay again after that expires) whereas in GW2 it’s a one-time payment for the entire game.

Ah, thanks Danikat, I realised I phrased it wrong, but its basicly Freeware; between f2t and f2p. Theres enought content for the f2p people to get the feel for the gameplay, but the restrictions limit them from getting the real vibe of the game and its communities.

Also, I see no reason for the people to complain so much about it, if we were in their situationt then 80% of us would’ve used this oppertunity to get the feel for the game. The biggest why this will impact us is that there will be more people on the servers which could lead to the servers working a lil harder, so Anet better upgrade there soft/hardware.

So what, you are a new player, you do a few dungeons and now you are a expert at the game? Give it a break, you probally tried to do AC with your lv35 and the people weren’t so happy with you there, I personnaly kick anyone below lv80, when forming parties, then after wards tell them that it was because they are to low lv and how the stats work in gw2.

I believe we should atleast be able to buy it once per guild or have one chance to change it, only once or else it would be abused. Because with the new expansion, we can kind of “start over” have a “fresh start” in a sense without losing all our progress, especially for smaller guilds who do not have 500 members to generate 50k influance each day (theoretical example to make an point and does not refer to actual facts^).

What luck then, I did the second verification like a few days before sunday, also strangely Ive been getting alerts that my wifi connection is insecure from like Friday and since then my internet has been extremely bad, 1000-2000 Ping average, but also, it sounded like Anet’s servers were having problems this weekend.

Ive been looking at my task manager a few times and it looks as if gw2 is using a lot more CPU % than usual, or is it just my pc (is about average, not to bad, but not to new, like 2-3 years)?

I would try to go into the netgear router, but I lack the experience to work with that stuff, dont want my wifi to not work completely.

Sunday I was away most of the day and while I was away (at an theater, after I watched; West side Story) I got an sms saying that my “code is: 27108”, so can I be like 60% sure that someone tried to log into my account? (also my room is locked as well as my computer has an password, so no getting in there) Be them hackers maybe, or rahter whats the chances that it would wrongly just randomly send that message to me?

Firstly: we have 42 active players, since we recreated the Guild, there are still 8 inactive players in the previous guild, so when they start playing again, we’ll have some more Awesome members! Also, we 7 inactive members in our current Guild, which 2 of dont have internet, otherwise they would also be active.
Secondly: we are currently focusing on building our PvP and PvE foundation and structures. Because without a good foundation, then any structure (or anything really) is doomed to fail.
Thirdly: We have Friday Fractals on Friday I: and Guild Missions on Saturday. We do events on weekdays at 18:00 GMT+0 and Saterday is 18:00 GMT+0

Sorry, I described the time part a bit wrong there: As you know, we get a server/ local time toggle option and one for your computer’s time, but what would be nice if we had an option to show them both at the same time. Actually now that I think about it, the clock idea isn’t really that necessary, we’ll probably figure out when is the best time for guild missions in one way or another.
