You guys beat me to it. After last week’s positive discussion on siege trolls I wanted to bring up the topic of population imbalance and ideas that you have on it.
There are a couple of ideas already going in this thread:
- population caps
- merge servers
- Battle Groups
My own thoughts on this are none of the above. I believe before going to those drastic measures try other options first.
- Have keep/tower/camp lords scale with x amount of people attacking. Just like in pve
This would give the lower pop servers more time to cap other objects while the bigger
zerg is busy. - The outnumbered buff
This should give better battle stats like the bloodlust. + healing,vitality, power, etc.
This would give the lower server pops a better chance. - New BL maps
Very much like the Eotm, have red be a barren land with turrets that automatically
fire.
Green with sentry turrets
Blue with slowed movement
The other major problem is the ranking system. I would try possibly
1-6, 7-12, 13-18, 19-24
instead of the current system of
1-6, 7-15, and 16-24
there is a very big population imbalance between 7 and 15 and I’m sure between 16 and 24.
I also think that once a tower/keep is FULLY upgraded then if any damage is done to it and there is supply the workers should automatically repair just like in eotm.

OK answering said statements….
*A lot of newer players had trouble with the interface. That doesn’t apply to you, you’re veterans who have been around the conversion block a time or two. But newer players will benefit from the updated system.
BS…..We were all new players once but we learned quickly. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to figure it out. If someone has a question what is the community for? It’s not hard to ask in any major city. Also NEW players don’t have that much gold to buy 400gems worth! since the going rate is 70+ gold lol what a crock.
*The goal was to make the Gem Store more like other shopping experiences, and if you think about it, there is more of that feel to it now.
What a crock, this is not like other shopping experiences! If that is your concern then people will be shopping around for a new game to play since you clearly do not care what the people think about your customer base (which ARE your veterans)!
*You may be surprised to know this (I know I was) but very few people bought gems at smaller denominations than the first one offered in the new system. That’s not to say they never did, nor that there wouldn’t be the desire to do so. But overall, the current options were selected based on player purchases in the past.
Once again BS. I know more people have converted gold to gems in increments of 10, 20, 30 gold, etc not 73.25 gold or whatever the cost is at the time. In the other case maybe 5 gold to get that 1 gem they needed for something rather than buy tons of extra gems.
*The team is going to listen to your feedback and, if and when it’s practical and desirable, they can look towards adjusting the new system to better meet your needs.
Maybe the team should have asked the player base first instead of assuming this is what was best, because everyone knows what happens when you assume things. If this statement is actually a true statement then if you want to keep the change you have made also give us the option to type in our own amount of gold we want to spend to buy gems as well as your system!
This way the new player and the veterans are happy!!!!!!!!!
Otherwise we will know that your really don’t give a kitten of what we think.

Absolutely horrible idea Anet. There was nothing wrong with the old way. Please revert back. People want to exchange gold for gems as they get the gold, not wait until they have said amount to get the gems. You will only lose out on people buying gems all together

With the new megaserver there really is no need to be on any particular server for pve. The only reason people would be on or transfer to different servers would be for WvW.
I don’t understand why anet cannot base WvW on population and transfers now. I understand there may be a small percentage of people that transfer to different servers due to friends. I also know that some servers are also more Pve based. I do think it’s time for anet to give this theory a try considering the fact of the megaserver and mass transfers to and from different servers. I’m just surprised they haven’t figured this out yet.

This is hilarious, I have been laughing hard all week. Yaks and EB have denied an alliance and double teaming us, but suck so bad that they need to double team us order to win. EB can’t take anything on their own so they need big brother Yak to be their bodyguards and hand everything they take over to them and visa versa. Too funny. Don ’t forget Karma is a kitten and it will come back on you 3 fold.

Just want to give a shout out to IoJ…. for being outnumbered and lower coverage, you guys never gave up! Keep up that spirit and you will go far, GREAT FIGHTS!

I really have no idea what anet did but skill lag is the worst I’ve ever seen. Last night was almost unplayable any time orange swords popped up. I’m not meaning when it’s huge fight but even just orange swords where there were 20 people. Another problem with this is not just your only player ability skill lag, this is also affecting skill lag on any siege. It is downright horrible and I think this needs to be addressed asap. In the Labryrinth the other day with just as many people fighting a bass and there was no skill lag.
Why is this more or a WvW issue as compared to PVE and what is anet doing to fix this?

1. Server population imbalance
2. WvW rewards vs PVE rewards
3. Buff bonuses ( outmanned vs bloodlust) possibly flip flop to make outmanned more of an advantage to even the battles.
4. Alt-friendly WvW ranks
5. More rewards for doing thankless job of escorting yaks, defense, etc. vs zerg training
6. Claimer, supervisor, sentry scaling per amount of people in the area, like in PVE (thinking this might be the better way to stop zerg training and help the smaller havocs as well)
7. Raid groups for guilds instead of just a group of 5
8. Certain amount of achievements to obtain commander icon
9. Different color commander icons per map
10. Skill lag!
11. Different map for each server so as to give them their own “homefield advantage”
12. GvG should not be in WvW imo, possibly make a map that’s open battle and guilds use influence to open it for x amount of time and invite other guilds to their map
13. Class balance
14. Rally function in WvW, some rally mechanics are unfair compared to others ( i.e. ele can mist through doors in down state yet mesmer must have a target to do anything, there fore against a thief other mesmer that’s invisible their down state is useless.)
15. Stomping while invisible
16.Would like to see and wp timer on downed player ( i.e. instant wp to spawn if dead for 60 seconds)
17. This list could keep going, ty for at least taking suggestions

I wish Anet would put a criteria in place to aquire the Commander title other than just purchase it for 100G. They have ranking system in place and also achievements for WvW. I would like to see them implement something along the lines of having to defend x number of keeps, camps, dolyaks. Use and build x number of siege equipment. Capture x number of camps, keeps and kill dolyaks. Acquire rank x before they can purchase Commander title. If they are looking to implement a PVE Commander the same standards could be put in place then give the PVE and WvW Commander different color icons. This would make it easier to follow those Commanders that actually know what they are doing instead of spoiled brats with mom’s credit card.

These are just some suggestions focused on guild rosters. The date people joined and the last time they logged in would be a great help to guild leaders. It would allow them to see who hasn’t logged on in months and be able to thin the roster accordingly.

My poor darkhaven. You have been hemprrhaging guilds since our great defeat agianst FA and even CD. First Icoa, who had come from nsp and absorbed a fair chunk of our wvw players. Next SE left us followed closely by GoF.
Now RE and WE have decided to part with you, and with them go the last 2 large wvw guild.
Do not despair! From the ashes of the large guilds the smaller ones have the chance to grow and try to lead. The matches wil get better, the time when we could compete agianst DB or EB is over but we will find a new tier where we can once agian have balanced matches, it will just take another week or two to fall.

Plok it’s obvious that you did not read Caliburne’s post. WE had been with DH from the very beginning and stuck it out through thick and thin. WE tried everything in their power to unite the server, but you can lead a horse to water but cannot make them drink. We respect all of those from DH that have fought, laughed and facepalmed side by side with us and hope that they consider possibly joining us. There comes a breaking point for everyone and many of us have reached ours. To call us “fair weather players” is a very unfair remark.
To those still on DH as I’ve said, we respect you and your decisions to stay on DH or go somewhere else since the server is dying. We just ask the you do the same and respect our decisions. We wish you nothing but the best in your future adventures.

Pretty sure most people know about the exploit. 2 BP in the lords room, no gates or walls even touched. We have had the keep for over 3 hours so I know there was no mesmers in here. I have been in this tower for almost 3 hours since we took it. Just happened to be on the outer wall refreshing siege when they did it. As I said no guild tag and must have been a thief and or mes, because they vanished.

Ok here we go again. I for one can tell you that nobody that I have seen or run with on DH has double teamed with either DB or BP. Get over yourselves! As for hacks and exploits, good job to BP who tried to exploit DH’s east keep. lmao we’re in last place and you outnumber us severely but still have to cheat. Unfortunately the person committed suicide before I could screenshot. As for double teaming since RE is the only WvW guild that makes any difference according to them then maybe you should be looking at them instead of saying all of DH. Now can we stop the kitten bickering. If you have a problem with anything I said then maybe take a good look at the previous threads that all of you have posted and we have had to put up with!

I don’t post here often, but please stop the fighting and conspiracy theories. Plain and simple truth is. DB has strong force on DH and NSP offpeak hours where they can zerg around cap everything and upgrade it. Where NSP and DH have strong forces at the same time therefore we cannot just zerg cap without alot of resistance. We actually have to fight each other for any point on the map. I can at least speak for myself that yes going after DB is the smartest thing for me to do because while we are all asleep they will turn the whole map for them. However there have been many times when we(DH) have been going for something that DB controls and have NSP come in behind us and cut off our supply or attack us from the opposite side, or visa versa. As well as I’m sure it has happened with everyone. It will always happen in a 3 way match. It’s not a conspiracy, it’s just what happens. Imagine how NSP feels coming in 3rd both weeks, they probably feel like they are being double teamed constantly. NSP as well as DB have given us 2 weeks of some very good and interesting fights. So lets keep it to good ole plain fun!
BTW absolutely Great fight last night against DB and NSP trying to take DH garrison. We didn’t have many but we held our ground and had a blast! Haven’t had that much fun defending in awhile.
