Is it just me?
Rolf Multipass…* cough * I mean no =P
Well Diablo3 is going to be released on PS3 and PS4. It would not surprise me if GW2 did as well.
Yeah , but NcSoft (ArenaNet) and Sony(SOE) are competitor and i’m pretty sure Sony will demand a cut of the gem store profits. That’s why i don’t think GW2 on the PS4 is possible….
I can see it happen on the “Xbox 720”, but not the PS4. PS3 is based on openGL, so I would assume that the PS4 will be too.. This game is a directX game. Changing that is no simple matter. Unless I’m mistaken, Xbox DOES run DirectX so porting it over would be far less work and far more feasible.
So no, I would be super super surprised if we saw a PS4 release of this game.
DID no one READ the specs?
After reading the last few comments.
PS4 will be based on all major programming languages.
This is WHY Sony went with x86 (PC) architecture because they don’t want the nightmare programmers had from PS3 with Cell.
The Xbox 360 use a IBM powerPC X64 architecture. In other words, it’s not an intel CPU and/or an architecture commonly use among pc gamers. So, again , those specs mean nothing unless they are easy to work with.
Edit: X86 only mean working in 32bit that means 4 gig cpu 4 gig gpu
(edited by ChipSet.8435)
8 core x86 CPU (easy to program for since its PC based)
8 GB DDR5 Ram
AMD GPU
Those specs are nice on paper, but they mean nothing if the SDK is a pain to work with. If it’s like the PS3 …Well, my money is on the next M$ console….
To those that are saying gw1 was like WoW uh no. Gw1 was Gw1.
I guess reading comprehension is not your strong suit huh? Let me quote the sentence that explain why some player don’t agree with the original poster….
Red Falcon is right. The OP wants some sort of frankensteinian amalgam of GW1 and WoW. No thanks.
Guild Wars 2 is not perfect , but we like the way the game is designed and we don’t want it to become a bad hybrid of other MMOs on the market.

TLDR: “Make GW2 into GW1/WoW clone with trinity, manabars and remove thieves because I haven’t figured out how to counter them”
No to all, thank you.
Forums are for discussion, so rather than jumping in and just saying “no” you could actually try to contribute.
He doesn’t want GW2 to become a GW1/WOW clone…..That sound like a contribution to me. And for the record I fully agree with him.
Then your experience would be wrong. Most gaming devs get their main feedback from web forums.
True and I hope the devs are listening the feedback of the people who actually play the game. Instead of listening the feedback of a GW1 fanboy who doesn’t play anymore because he thinks GW2 is lame
I would take that with a large pinch of salt. For one thing, it was probably not Anet that added that particular bit of text.
Even if it were, it was not neccessarily anyone with the necessary seniority or clout to be able to say “yes, all monthlies are exclusively PvE content”
I doubt Anet would let incorrect information linger on the official wiki. Especially if you take in consideration that the web site is accessible from the game client. On top of that, the achievement page was updated yesterday. But perhaps a developer or a moderator could confirm if the information on the official wiki is accurate or not……
Finally, stop categorising yourself into “PvE Player” and “PvP Player”. We can all be both, what is the point of denying ourselves any part of the game out of some weird principle?
It’s not a matter of principle, I simply hate PVP….
contrary to PvE opinion the current offering is NOT a PvE monthly, no where does it claim to be a PvE monthly.
Oh really?
Monthly (4) — repeatable PvE achievements that reset every month (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Achievement)
Invaders killed has always been a part of the monthly, it’s ANet’s way of getting people’s feet wet in WvW and it works perfectly.
If by “work perfectly” you mean : Punish the PVE players and/or force the PVE players to participate in PVP….then I agree.
I don’t care what people say… this class is still the master of mediocrity, it still pales compared to every other class in Guildwars 2..
Amen!
Try PvE for a few levels on a mesmer in an area, than try the same area on a warrior of the same level.
The reason should become very obvious.
Basically this; warriors and guardians are better than any other classes in PVE, at least for leveling. And for the record Taka , some players like me don’t care about PVP; so don’t assume it’s the “ultimate” goal for everyone.
I already recommended the game and I would do it again.
Guild wars 1 could also be consider an ‘action MMO’ and the game was release in 2005. So the fast paced combat is not new to Guild Wars 2 . And you are right: as a paying customer you have the right to give your feedback. But the intelligent move, as a customer, would have been to get information about the game before you waste your money on game you will not like….
