I like female skin like most Males do, but I also like females in awesome-looking-kicking-the-crap-out-of-you armor. While, I don’t mind the current armor, I do also wish for a version like the Male on the female. I think a lot of people applaud Anet for spending the time to create separate concepts, but at the same time feel left out due to certain restrictions. If both concepts were available to both male and female I think everyone would be happy.

To add to this.. the male version of the Phalanx armor slightly reminds me of Infinity Blade ( iOS game ).

Also, there is an artist, by the name Wen-M, that I like and he does wonderful full armor female for tale-top games. I have always hoped that Anet would release a skin similar to his design.

What story? There is a story? I am getting no immersion of story what so ever. The only time I ever understand what is going on with the story is by reading reddit posts (or watch WoodenPotatoes) about it. The “living story” to me doesn’t make me care enough (Even with the characters we meet in Personal story [except Tybalt] and Living Story) to delve into it. To me all this is “Ooooo limited timed items!” Honestly, who reads the mail they receive at the beginning of every new content update? I just click the “show me” and then go look up Dulfy for a guide.

Honestly, if your not going to take the time to look at the information they give you, listen into the conversations and read the dialog then your going to make it very hard to give you a story you will find immersing. Your kind of your own worse enemy with this.

It isn’t that I am not taking the time to look for the information. It’s that I don’t feel connected to the story. I feel detached in GW2 compared to GW1 where story was a bit more consistent.

If you want a build you should just look at what people are using then make your own version. Play how you want. Also following meta-game is probably the worst thing to do.

Yeah…because it’s absolutely impossible for Anet to make an event that happens throughout the day for people how has school/work/other issues that were unable to log in specifically in that 2 hour timeframe

I never said it is impossible. I am saying ANet wanted it to be a one-time event otherwise they would have made it repeat to begin with. They even specified that it would be “one-time” for the past week.

UPDATE: ACCOUNT RESTORED!

After close to 64 hours of being permanently banned, the status of my account was changed to ‘Hacked Account’ and then a few minutes later it was changed to ‘Access Restored’.

Support wrote that my account had been hacked and being used for botting. Then it was caught in the Bot Sweep and terminated. If that’s what really went down, I’ll probably never know… but I AM glad to have my account back.

Best of luck to everyone else suffering from this issue, I hope you all get your accounts back ASAP.

Just so you know, that’s precisely what happens in a lot of cases. Sort of the “Triple Whammy of Nastiness” in my opinion. Someone steals your account, usually steals your stuff, and then uses the account for botting and gets it banned.

So you may be sleeping and wake up to find all this mess has arisen while you slumbered. We do work very hard to get people back on their accounts as soon as possible, but it takes time, because security caution requires that we ensure we’re giving the account back to the real owner.

This is why if someone is banned unjustly, he or she should submit a ticket with as much info as possible, so the team can look into the account and, perhaps, restore it without having to request additional “proof of ownership.” Info can be found in the article on account security and with our tips on filling a ticket.

Though my account is now restored I am still worried about being falsely caught in the ban again while I’m playing in Orr. There is no way someone would have accessed my account as I have a password that has never been used and uses the same steps as XKCD comic strip recommends a long with extra steps. Not only that I also have mobile authentication.

I am at my computer for about more than 12 hours a day logged into Guild Wars 2. The way I am playing at the moment is waiting at either Penitent or Shelter for the events to start. When the event is starts I am actively playing till the event is over. I also look for loot parties if there are any, but rarely socialize with them. Once the event is over I am back to AFK-ing on top of a building, although I am still at my computer but turned my attention to my laptop to do some work until the event pops again. I also read the map chat from time to time while waiting on the events. I also sometimes tab-out to load a youtube video or change music playlists when the events are over.

I am also pretty sure there are others who play the same way I do as there are quiet a few people after the two events who just stand in the outpost and afk.

I am still wondering how I could have been caught in the ban and want to avoid it.

FWIW, those that were unfairly banned and got reinstated. Are they offering you something in return? Pretty much any other game that has had issue like this, people have been compensated in some manner. Just how the world works.

No compensation at all. I wasn’t able to play fro two days which is a huge set back and I’m logged in atm and waiting on events to pop trying to get my last few gold before leaving Orr for good. I just hope this issue doesn’t happen to me again while I’m still there.

Well, My access to the game is now restored since yesterday afternoon. I have no idea how they pick up people as bots when they clearly aren’t. I still need about to 60g for my legendary but now I’m scared to continue playing in Orr even ore gathering.

I received an update on my issue this morning ( 10am Pacific ). Asked for my serial code and what not and they seemed to have changed my account from botting to suspended for 70 hours.

Toble I think the first set of numbers are the date if thats true then the 121109 really could be 11/09/12 which was the day it happened. My ticket was 000560 so I assume that should mean it was only the 560th ticket that day [or] to that department. So realistically it means that shortly after this purge happened there was a huge influx of tickets being issued. It would be curious to see where they currently are in the counter, and when I hear back on mine at 560, I will let people know here.

By that methodology this means that 1, I would be low on the list and shouldn’t be waiting for 2 days and 2. That is not the date since it was input on the 8th.

I doubt that is what they do since I put it in late in the day on the 8th and I am pretty sure others have gotten theirs back more expeditiously.

It’s whatever though. Arenanet shouldn’t have gotten themselve into this mess. It is just hurting them, especially on and “invite your friends” weekend.

They should roll back all the bans until they can fix the system instead of fixing it one by one. I would rather the bots get another few days of play verses us getting none.

I have submitted several tickets regarding other issues before and the first part of the reference number all seem to match the date of which I issued the tickets.

I sent a ticket a day and a half ago and I still didnt get any response from ANET…Its really hard not to check my notification cause I’ve been playing since early release and not missed a single day. Its really frustrating for an innocent person to be banned/terminated for something they didn’t do nor thought/attempted to do.
Look at my toon, can any bot even have 2 sets of dungeon armors? or rather even have 3 destroyer weapons, have soo much achivementss? I dont think so…..I worked long and hard just to b terminated.

I know that feel, I haven’t even touched any other games cause I just want to get back on GW2. Constantly refreshing this topic to read new posts and refreshing the support page.

Perhaps it was my recording/streaming setup that may have flagged me for a ban. My recording setup has me use AutoHotKey so I can manually adjust volume settings while in a fullscreen game.

I still use this same setup regardless of if I am recording gameplay or streaming it as it also allows me to modify volume settings right from the Volume Mixer which allows me to freely adjust the volume of the game without having to tab out or fiddle around with the options and while I am actively playing the game.

Sometimes I watch videos on a second monitor and I am always on mumble so I almost always turn the volume up or down whenever I feel it necessary.

Not to mention that my foobar2000 has similar setup so I can adjust volume on it as well.

However, I have my doubts that this was the cause since I have been using this same setup for over a month now.

I would like the effort of deleting my posts to go toward restoring everyone’s permanently banned accounts before the weekend comes and we are stuck all weekend without GW2 not being able to help our guilds out in WvW on reset.

Unfortunately, deleted posts are likely done by mods and not ones in charge of going through support tickets

I know this, yet again, what I am saying is maybe take some of the manpower and put it toward support ticketting instead.

I do understand they are different jobs, but I also understand that this problem is a “wave” problem, like retail in the Christmas months.

No one wants to get stuck all weekend unrightfully banned. Most of us have 9-5’s all week long and want to relax with our buddies during the weekend and just play.

Like someone previously said, it’s less that I can’t play and more that they made such a blatantly horrible mistake and that it is continuing.

When I told my guildmates that I was banned, they basically said “for what?” When I said booting, they were just as surprised as me. They all thought it would be for swearing or harassing someone by trolling them too hard, nope. Botting, somehow I bot while actively pvping with them all day according to arenanet and that is why I am rather angry.

I’m going to be real, if I was banned for something legitimate, okay, it’s only 60 bucks and 2 weeks of grinding to get my most recent character back. No biggie for someone like me.

But the fact that they didn’t even put int he effort to at least watch me for a few minutes was the horrible thing. How can you determine someone is a bot simply based on reports?

Back in Aion, the leader of a large PVP guild was banned without warning and without a reason because a rival guild got all of their people to report him and because of the mass influx of reports, this person was banned without investigation.

Fortunately for him, even people not in his guild protested until they investigated his account, found all the allegations to be false, and the support ticket handler was punished for the large problem they had caused.

I have seen it happen before so it is either a flawed automated system or it is happening again and someone should be fired.

For me it would be $150.00 since I got the collectors edition. In which I would ask why would someone risk their own account who has paid $150.00? 150.00 to me is a lot of money.

I am now nearing the 24 hour mark of my ban with my ticket still marked as Unresolved. At least I’m getting work done early over the time that I’m banned.

I’m not accusing a single person of lying. I just don’t believe everything posted on the Internet is the absolute truth. I’m glad that it’s not my job to sort out the mess.

I agree with your posts however I still wonder how many are actually affected by accidental bans, and how fast were they resolved.

Maybe I should just start streaming/record every time I load up guild wars 2 just so I have a sure proof of saying I have been literally glued to my PC screen for more than 12 hours a day.

Well, if this topic wasn’t here I wouldn’t be posting in it since I cannot play at the moment. I’m waiting patiently and hoping it’ll get resolved soon for me. I even talked in chat saying “brb” to my party as I went to get a drink right before I was kicked off and banned.

I have been playing around 12am-6pm Pacific lately and in Cursed Shore since I need around 160g for my legendary.

I have been partying with random people at Penitent and Shelter but I have not been socializing with any of them at all. I’ve been doing work on my laptop whenever there wasn’t an event going I’d usually stand in the middle of the outpost.

My account just got terminated ( 9:30am ) I submitted a ticket ( 121108-001970 ) shortly after this. All I have been doing recently was grouping with people at Cursed Shore between Penitent and Shelter for loot. My termination says I have been perma-banned due to botting/using macros or similar behavior

I hope this gets revolved quickly as I am nearly finished my legendary!

Hi,

I’ve opened a ticket ( 120825-013399 ) on release explaining my problem and have got a response saying the issue will be resolved soon. I’ve closed the ticket thinking that it would but it hasn’t. I have opened another ticket on the 13th of September ( 120913-001618 ) which, today, has been closed without any response.

How it happened:
1) Created a character(A) with a name I wanted. ( Couldn’t access HOM )
2) Created another character(B) with a different name ( Can access HOM )
3) Deleted first character(A) and recreated the character(A) with the same name.
After playing an hour later on character(A) I realized I had lost my Collector’s Items.

I don’t know if I should open another ticket seeing as my second ticket was ignored and closed without a response.

I’m having a similar issue except my items were deleted on the character I deleted. I forgot to put them into the bank before doing so. I’ve submitted a ticket on launch week and they said they were looking into it, so I’ve closed the ticket. I’ve just sent another one hoping to get a response and maybe an update on it.

Dunno why they didn’t just do the /bonus thing

I am also aware of a Karma vendor in LA which sells a HOM stone so why not just put the CE ( at least the mini rytlock ) there too for those who have CE
