I am no build master thats for sure.. But this is my build (frontline wvw) atm. I tried my best getting 50% boon duration, 3k armour, and 40% crit chance while using as much as i could of the new armours for better stat spread. It seems it could be something in the area you were looking:)

I have yet to try this build in action but i would love some feedback on it before i start working towards the gear. What im gong for is a wvw frontliner/boonbot. Im trying to aim at 3k armour, about 40% crit chance (heard somewhere this was good to aim for) and 50% boonduration so that i with FoN get 100% duration. Im trying to save foodspot for something else then boonduration aswell. I also try to min max alot by using as many pieces of the new gear that i can. This is the setup i came up with:

Only thing is that my power is kinda low, but i imagine with bloodlust and alot of might it will be ok.. Am i overthinking this? or will something like this work ok?

WvW Build: Ghost Thief: Ganking & Zerg Diving

I have been running pretty much this build on and of since last update for giggles.. It gets quite silly after some time, cause its so cheese.. but can be quite fun form time to time aswell.

There is no need for the shadow refuge to keep 100% stealth uptime. I prefer tripwire instead to keep them longer in my caltrops and pressure striking for when tripwire interrupts (surprisingly quite often).

Yeap, this sounds like a zerg diving troll build i use for scouting and trolling for laughs. Its quite easy to get 100% stealth uptime especially with ppl around to steal from and proc improv reset for traps or heal. If improv does not proc then you have to be more carefull a while, bit with some utilities up you can just be close to enemy all the time dodging for caltrops. And there is no need for p/d imo. You can get more then enough condi pressure with confusion on steal, traps and caltrops with d/p staying in stealth, just lock em down and let em bleed out. And if you want, you can get some interrupts in for torment, (ofc then you will be out of stealth)….. But yeah, the build is cheeeeeese and should be banned forever..

I run this build with d/p and caltrops instead of one of your traps for giggles. Ever killed 2-3+ ppl without ever leaving stealth. Its superdupermegafantastic cheese, but the fun of killing ppl in the middle of a zerg without them having any idea what hit them…

Any1 ever think about that maybe SA traitline is so strong that Anet put this in just to annoy players out of the traitline^^

New stability change = Dagger Storm useless?

Dont think its that poblematic tbh. One thing that is annoying tho, is that you cant dodge out of DS and keep your stability to escape…

There is a few downfall with this build though, it’s nice that you’re looking into toughness and vitality buy once you’re pinned up against a heavy condition build 1on1 then they’ll have the upper hand. As a skilled thief the chances are high if you’re going to pick squishes and the “injured”. I can’t judge entirely about this build since I’ve never used it before due to every individual’s different diverse perspective. My opinion for you is to be cautious with conditions and the initiative control of this build. Remember poison will still effect your healing from invigorating precision, same goes to assassin’s reward.

Yeah poison is a real pain with this build. I agree that it have problems with a heavy condi builds, but i dont see how it is that much worse against them then any other build that does not rely on shadows embarce. You have your built in condi clense in Sw #2 and your shadowstep, the sigil on sb helps too. The heals in this build also helps mitigate some of the damaging conditions aswell.. But yeah, pick your battles..

Also your very right about the initiative control, really need to be carefull not to spend it all, but i find it to be very manageble.

Did try it out last night and i got to say its fun, lets you be right in peoples faces all the time that can be fun, but disappointingly enough the damage was too low (atleast for roaming):( Tried balancing it out with some zerker pieces and it got alot better, i found 2.5k armour and 200% crit damage is something to go for.. Gonna be playing it for a while and see how it works out in diffrent aspects of the game:)

Build im gonna use: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fZAQNAsYVl0Mp7pVOx0J0PNBNRt9EMcVoWBQ3RRf1EA-T1CEABRp8IujAABPAgEVrYLlgMpEDhTAQO7P0m+AAOEANqqCpAMXkF-w

Sorry for the necro, but i have some thoughts i would like some inputs on. I know almost the same build have been posted on the forums before, but the take on it is a bit diffrent. And to be clear im talking wvw here.

We all know healing “counts more” with higher toughness, cuz you take less damage and you heal the same etc. So was thinking; could a Knight build work, or would the damage just be to low? You sacrifice alot of damage (some power and alot of ferocity) with this setup.

Ill post a full knights build here but it can be balanced out with zerker pices aswell. This would probably come off as a troll build (and i guess it is), but could it be viable in any part of the game? Roaming, scouting or in a zerg situation with SB “clusterbombmachinegunning” harassing backliners with S/D and so on?

Also, what runes to use, i posted pack but ogre will be a good option.

Im always lagging as thief

in Thief

Im experiencing exactly the same thing as you. But my lags are shorter, maybe 0.5 sec skill delay and very inconsistent shaddowstepping. Steal ports me back to where i used steal so does infiltrators signet. I get a quick rubberbanding right after teleporting with IA. This ususally happens after playing a little while. I thought it was cuz of more players on map etc. But when i change chars and go to the same map i have no lag at all.

Anyone tried runes of mesmer paired with new Sigil of Paralyzation. Would this give some crazy daze durations from Tactical Strike and daze from Sleight of Hand? (and Mace Head Crack for that matter).

Dont really know, but what about mesmer runes paired with a Sigil of Paralyzation now? Will be a nice +63% daze duration. Could be quite annoying to play against i guess. Mace Head Crack would be a 6 and a half sec daze:O
