what kind of numbers do you get for unload vs single target (say dungeon bosses)?
Sorry for the late reply, i am not a frequent forum visiter.
I hit for anything between 3,2-5,2k. As long as fury is up you are virtualy allways close to 5k, with sometimes a little above.
But on bosses i do also use D/P as that gets nice crits, especlaly at low health. Where executioner and HS do allot for your damage.
When you have 3 targets with P/P and fury, you have good chances for 10+k unloads
I play P/P + D/P and i like it allot. Normaly just in pve, but tried it in tPvP yesterday and it worked nicely. For me ricochet is a must, it makes unload almost like a heal in itself
This is what i use for PvP. For Pve the only change is that i swap SR for Signet of agility.

Have the same issue here from time to time. As well as it saying there is a connection error. The GW2 login and gameservers really seem to be struggelig.
Btw, she might have used the trait of 50% speed while stealther + SB skill 5.
I have lag spikes. Activating a skill or trying to interact and it will hang for a couple of seconds. Sometimes it disconnects too.
1. Location – Norway, 15 minutes from Oslo.
2. Time: Noticed beteen 08:00-22:00, could be the other time as well, but i don’t play then.
3.Gameworld: Piken Square
4. What seems like random Lag spikes. Most noticable on skill and item activation interaction.

Same here, works after a few tries though. if i click the link in the windown that poops up to send me to the support i also have to refresh a bunch of times for the site to even show. Seems like they have some stability issues atm,.

I see the OP’s point However, we are engineers not marksmen.
Why get bored? You can pvp and WvW your heart out, also you can do events and bosses etc. Just becourse you have all the gear etc doesn’t mean it gets boring.
If you need new content the whole time to keep you playing, then what do you like, the gameplay or just the sake of progression?
After 1500hrs i think you just need a break.
I run FT all the time and use rifle as utility for #2-3-4-5 when i feel i need them. #3 i use to get bleeds on groups.
Other then that i feel i do more then enough damage. I also carry EG and elixir B. Sometimes swapping EG for other Elixirs/utility.
I think many are too stuck in the “omg ft sucks in dmg” mode to realise the damage really isn’t that bad, especialy in groups.
I don’t roleplay atm, but i found quite a few who do on Piken Square. I think RP’ ing is quite cool.

I am a Charr lover and decided i would try to make a female Charr ranger. While i was browsing trought the leather armor my jaw allmost fell off. The space between many of the shoulder items is just insane. Some foat so far off the shoulders you can look over the shoulder and trough the gap.
This kind of stuff really is a deal breaker for me as it just looks absolutely silly. It seemed that the heavy and light shoulders faired a little better, but they really should adress this issue.
I don’t think that chart is very accurate. I believe we have allot more guardians now then shown there.
If you play it well the dmg is not too bad i think. In large groups place napalm outside your cone of fire and spam the fireball does just fine damage.
I wouldn’t complain about a damage boost though. More dmg is allways welcome

That is my build for solo pve
I swap skills and traits when needed.
Shrapnel mine and Elixir B can be changed for bomb kit and thumper turret when i need group might stack or stealth (mostly for instances)
Traits i also change. Presise sights for moddified ammo, when on group content.
Infused presision i swap out with fireforged trigger on low mobility fights and invigorating speed with protection injection in fights where i need that.
Rifle i use mainly for utility, for it’s AoE #3 and net. Or if i need a quick finisher #5 or more distance #4.

Ok, and it keeps the intensity of the first burn aplied right?
How does that work? Becourse when i use FT i allready have a burn. wich makes all other burn skills kind of useless, including it’s own fire field.
I was just playing and noticed the debuff count. I had incendiary ammo and Incendiary powder and it does not stack. Same for fire bomb and flamethrower. Whatever burn gets on the target seems to be active and the rest is just not counted.
Is this normal? My bleeds do stack and vulnerability as well.
I am not sure what to think. As a Flamethrower/rifle engineer i find it very hard. The reflect seems to be on and off quite off ten and due to all the spell effects and having to dodge i honestly can’t really see when the reflect is active or not and i die allot.
Any tips would be very welcome.
I just did that new LA thing and i am starting to doubt that moddified ammo works for the FT. It seems that the #1 skil from the rifle does increase in damage but i am honestly not so sure the FT does.

We wanted to maintain the engineer’s core roles while still increasing build diversity. We also wanted to take out some of the random effects for some of the class’s traits. The biggest change here is allowing Modified Ammunition to work with any skills so that an engineer, regardless of build, can look at putting 30 points into firearms. By increasing the swiftness duration on Speedy Kits, we hope to allow Swiftness to be maintained more reasonably without having to constantly be swapping between Kits. This change will also bring down the total up time for Vigor due to its interaction with Invigorating Speed. We don’t like classes having permanent Vigor, and this is one of the areas we needed to tone down the up time of the engineer’s Vigor.
•Explosives V – Incendiary Powder. Moved to Master tier.
•Explosives VI – Exploit Weakness. Increased the health threshold from 25% to 50%
•Explosives IX – Accelerant packed turrets. Moved to Adept tier.
•Firearms XI – Modified Ammunition. This trait now works regardless of equipped weapon.
•Inventions V – Energized Armor. Increased conversion from 5% to 7%.
•Inventions X – Autotool Installation. Increased healing percent from 1% to 5%. * Decreased interval from 10s to 3s.
•Inventions XI – Elixir Infused bombs. Increased healing scaling by 50%.
•Alchemy V – Blood Injection. Increased conversion from 5% to 7%.
•Alchemy 15 – Transmute. Increased % chance from 8% to 100%. This effect can now only trigger once every 15 seconds.
•Tools VI – Speedy Kits. Increased Swiftness duration to 10s. This effect can now only trigger once every 10 seconds.
•Tools XI – Armor Mods. Changed this to now trigger on struck instead of on critical hit incoming. Reduced the cooldown from 25 seconds to 15 seconds.

I allways run FT
using rifle only for the 2-3-5 skills when needed. Other then that it’s ft all the way with shrapnelmine and that purple elixir.
If you don’t want to swap kits, then maybe engineer is not the class for you. It’s like wanting to play an elementalist but only with firespells.
If you use 1 kit and 2 elixirs/turrets/etc you only have 1 swap to do, wich really is not that big of a deal.
The way i see it, the kits ARE the weapons of the engi, it’s an engineer, not a rifleman.
Allright, that makes it quite epic then. That changes my plan a bit.
I can’t wait to try it in LA. With 15 conditions on some bosses you get 30%

Does modified ammo only count for your own conditions or every condition? Since in instances and LA there often are a ton of conditions on a mob wich would make it quite strong.

The evade from what i see is instant btw, but the time from evading to landing is half a sec.
And it does a fair deal more damage then rifle #1 in the same time frame (atleast on my setup)

Oh, i never guessed it was a racial. What i thought was that it was nice to hae that damage and jump without having to swap kits.
Btw that shooting skyward bug is only when you don’t have an enemy targeted i believe.
Since it is a racial, does that mean its not available in pvp just like the Charrzooka?
So, today i finaly got the hidden pistol skill yesterday. I never gave it much thought as i did not really see anyone use it.
But i must say i was really surprised. The toolbelt skill really pumps out some damage and the base skill has a nice backwards evasive jump.
I now use it beside flamethrower and elixir B and it seems to work very well. Also has relatively short cooldowns.
What are you guys thoughts?
Meh, i think an engineer suits the blunderbuss / shotgun style.
What they atleast should do is double the range of the #1 skill.
Well, the price is well on it’s way down again. Demand might be still there but people are to eager to sell and push the price down. Went from 4s to 1s overnight.

Heu guys, i am a newby in GW2 and i wonder if crafting is worth the hassle or if i am better of selling mats i come by to save money and buy stuff from the TP?
Atm i am trying to level leatherworker and Huntsman, and i must say that i find it a little tedius.
Not sure what’s most effective but i am sure having lots of fun with my current setup.
Pistol+shield and Flamethrower + bombkit and a random 3rd. Also using healing turret for the aoe healing field.
I find this build to be quite sturdy. (with juggernout) And quite noob (me ) friendly.

People should be loooking back allot less. Don’t be afraid of change. Don’t be too sentimental.
The destruction of LA is a good thing, and it is exiting to see where we go from here. Having a big importand city destroyed creates new memories and is way bigger then if it would be just for 2 weeks and then suddenly LA would be back. That would just be lame.
Now we can just look forward to see this comming to a cataclysm and there will be a new major hub eventualy. be it in one for the main racial cities or a totaly new place.

The armor looks nice but that baby blue skin really destroys it. However if they where to make it so that the skin would show i think they would have to redesign the bra for the females, becourse it would definetely not cover up the nipples.

I finaly did my first run in the new LA and i had good fun. The start was very chaotic, and i could not even see where my targets where due to the massive spell effects. But as we got in deeper and the groups split up it was lots of fun.
But i was also a bit confused. Due to the zergs i am sure i forgot or missed loot on allot of mobs (even with AoE loot) but i did get a nice amount of green and blue stuff and even a yellow.
However i also got other types of badges, and having been at those vendors, i can’t really say the rewards are very tempting for a lvl 43 player? I could not find any good gear or anything. Most things seemed to be materials for lvl 80 stuff?
So did i overlook anything?
Just got a tip in another thread about fast aim with range option. That makes using grenades so much easier
Agreed. I also recently found out those benefictial things only work inside each trait tree style weaponry
Rifle allways seems to have a better skill.
the #3 skill has a nice bleed, and the #5 skill has some nice AoE. #4 skill is better then the FT’s #3 and FT #4 is a little situational. Ft skill #5 is nice though, but the #2 can be buggy at times.
The #1 skill gets better when there are 2-3 enemies though.
I now run p/s +ft+bk+elixir and having decent succes in pvp.
I might be dense, but why would the engi need even more weapons? I mean, you can use all the ranged weapons in melee, and have toolkit for bashing in peoples heads.
I rather have Anet give ranger a rifle then engis a melee weapon.
But that is just my opinion.
One possible way is to drop Big ol first, then the turret and overcharge, since big ol’ has some time before it goes off
