Can any developer explain why there is such a giant difference in profession base hp? I mean, I could understand if the game was trinity and had tanks, but it does not. Without a fixed agro generation, the warriors are no more likely to be taking abuse than any other class, but they gain an almost 2-1 hp advantage. In addition, their dps is similar or better than almost ever class. So, they have the highest base hp, the high end of armor, and the high end of damage…

Wait…huh? Where is the balance?

Hello all,

My in game name is Kahn Flux, an 80 elementalist, looking for a guild with an active PvE and WvWvW environment.

I have been playing MMOs for quite some time (EQ – DAoC – WoW – SWTOR) and have had a reasonable amount of PvE success. I am looking for a guild where I could continue to work on new and more challenging dungeon content and begin to work harder at WvWvW PvP.

Hey Magg’s Kite room is unachievable in the intended way for all the reasons posted for 2 weeks.

Oh about that you are the guy who did this to the dungeon….how can i trust you to balance other dungeons?

I think he is touching on something real – I loved the first part of your game and I would love to love the rest of it, but I really feel like you continually say “oh, we tested this, you can do it!” but when I play the game (on a number of servers with a large variety of players), all I hear is people saying that they cannot do what you expect them to be able to do. How, when that is the case, am I (and we as a community), suppose to find comfort in your feedback and insights?

I am not trying to be harsh or negative, but I do not understand the relationship between the community and the developers – particularly comparing the developers expectations to the community’s capabilities.

In both of my last two runs Magg got to the area where the bombs were suppose to be gathered and refused to begin the script. My group tried numerous methods of resetting him, but none worked.

I have a few questions that I am hoping that I can get some help with. I am more than happy to do the reading myself, but I am not sure where to look for reliable information and, in my own research, I see a lot of conflicting suggestions – points of view all without a lot of empirical data or supports. While I am interested in WvWvW – my interest and questions are pointed at PVE dungeon content.

Am I under valuing vitality and/or toughness?

Like I said, all my gear has vitality, but I have been going for CD – Power – Vit gear (I have mostly exotics). Should I instead be going for gear that has toughness and vitality on every piece?

Am I choosing too many offensive skills?

I have been trying to maximize combos as often as possible, since I feel like (and I might be wrong) that is the best path to success. So, in doing so, I have been trying to take arcane blast and or wave as often as possible – should I stop doing that and forcus on signets or defensive skills like earth armor?

Am I under valuing magic find?

I honestly never see yellows (or it feels like it), which I am only concerned about for ecots for crafting. So, I guess I have two questions: a) does MF greatly increase the drops throughout the spectrum or encourage drops to be on the higher end of the loot spectrum and b) does MF affect gathering and salvaging?

I have a ton more questions, but I guess that is a good jumping off point!

1st Path of CoF boss bugged?

Ya – this is totally ridiculous. The final boss is dumb. The crystals spawn so quickly that my group decided that Anet didn’t even intend for us to kill them, because it seems impossible to make progress. So, we burned him to 30% (fairly easily), but with max crystals up it was impossible for us to finish it. I don’t know who/what groups they intend to be able to finish the content, but it is not for pugs or groups made up of available professions. It is not at all what they said the game would be. The first 79 levels of this game were great – a lot of fun, a lot of nice changes and improvements from previous games, but the dungeons are painful and unfun with very little reward for the risk (unless you have great gear and great groups – sorry, that is not most people). I will not be playing much longer and will not be encouraging people to support Anet.

If all you want is for people to nor farm a single dungeon at X speed repeatedly – why not just put a cooldown on their ability to enter the dungeon so they cannot without making it impossible for people to complete it.

You are killing your game. CoF changes are so hard to complete that I am not sure where to even move forward. Your change rewarded the VERY small minority of players that already completed the CoF content (or who had much of the gear and were able to quickly reclear it) and destroyed the opportunity for people who had not to work through it. The ritual chamber area is undo-able without prohibitive expense and countless attempts – I don’t understand how you can make the mobs veterans and the counter 1/2 as fast at the same time lol….
