These are the things we want to do, they are not ready yet but they are in the works.
We have thought about it but have not begun making any action for it.

Cant do anything better? A 15 second cd on 3 traps that devestate an area with pets that crit 3k+?
lol considering the only pets that even crit for 3k is felines, and birds with the double hit. and even then its pretty rare to see a 3k crit. on top of that the vitality on those two pet species is laughable at best, they literally drop in seconds.
the trap, mind you that rangers have to spec 30 into a tree for the -20% on cd, is an l2 kitten ue.
traps are easy to avoid, not to mention being a trap ranger you have no stun breakers, and only 1 condition removal which you have to spec 30 into another tree.
i don’t think that toughness is the problem, in fact it doesn’t scale comparatively to dmg or healing. the problem with bunkers (guardians – elementalist- some engi’s) is their amount of boon saturation. I believe that protection, which reduces 33% damage, is a little bit too strong.
Shoulda seen the team set up i had the other day. my team was r35+… The other team, was all rank 1’s lol i kitten you not, then i felt bad.
I dont want to be negative, but sPvP vise this game is dead. I loved so much GW1, been playing it for 7 years and loved every minute of it. Im a huge GW fan and have a big respect for what ArenaNet have done for the PvP comunity in GW1. I wated so long for GW2 and I really, really want to belive that this game has a PvP future, but during the last few weeks I got more and more depressed about the state of the sPvP.
And I write this not to moan, but becouse I really care, I just have to take a break and maybe come back after a few months.
Isnt it sad that the PvP community is bigger in GW1 then GW2? You kind of want to make a better product then you had before, but you failed compleatly.

Imagine if they had said from day 1 we are in pvp beta.
i’d be much less irritated, and actually be enthusiastic to help them out on top of which knowing that REAL, COMPETITIVE gameplay for gw2 was coming

GREETINGS, CITIZENS. I originally planned to make a massive post where I displayed arenanets absolutely awful form of transparency, game issues, questionable design choices and a ton of other things. ANYWAY, the point of my thread is something different, I’m going to mention all the aspiring teams and players that have quit the game (and why) that I can think OFF THE TOP OFF MY HEAD. I can’t guarantee that all of these players left specifically because of the reasons I mention, but I can say that the vast majority of them have, and the rest left at least partially because of them.
TEAMS:
Team Pika:
The team followed the usual process. One player left another player got an invite from a team (dislocation to no scrub iirc) and since this game has no potential for a solo player to be competitive the three other players in the team, meaning that the three other players had to abandon the game and go back to WoW after some time of trying to find a team.Solution that would have kept them in game: SoloQ
Team Synthetic Gods/Myrevenge
This team followed almost exactly the same formula as above. The team became far less active due to disgruntlement because they had absolutely no info on esport at all aside from a pathetic blog post which took months to come out on. When the team dropped in activity and efficiency because of this one player left, two of the players n the team tried to find a new one but they were unable to and guess what? Lack of soloQ? No official ratings? Good luck making yourself known out there to other good teams!Solution: soloQ and transparency
Team FT:
This teams disappearance was rather recent. These were players that had been playing for as long as I. They eventually quit because they assumed arenanets stance on actually telling us what the hell is happening was arenanet not caring.Team SuperSquad:
Surely you’ve heard of these, yes arenanet? Same story as the one with myrevenge. There were members that were not as committed due to how the game was going. With the lack of proper ladder there is no real goal and there is nothing that kept the team to stay competitive. Two of the members joined another team (guess which!) and one quit the game due to not believing arenanet any more on their esport claims. The other two were unable to find a team. And yet AGAIN, I want to repeat this point: If you don’t have a team then you CANNOT play the game competitively. Your silly idea of a soloQ is not going to change that. And as long as you don’t announce that you’re going to make a proper solo q people that are unable to find a team will CONTINUE TO LEAVE!Solution: Transparency that would keep them motivated (they’ve been dedicated to this game since beta), a solo q (are you starting to see a pattern?)
Team legacy:
Another previous big name. They, too, lost faith in arenanet with their claim that they’d make this an esport. They believed it was just a lie to make the sales increase.

lol bunker eles can have gained over 11k heals without actually using a healing skill, not to mention the passive ffect of their heal + perma regen and soothing mists.

Those 15-20 seconds could mean a crippled 10stack bleeding Burning pet with 25 vulns which gets eaten by aoes.
need not remind you less than half the pets we have are even useful, and any of them that do decent dmg have laughable vitality, and unreliable dmg at that. if aoe gets a nerf like they said it would then maybe it will balance out, but the condtion transfer fix wont change a thing lol

lol, any movement skill breaks out of entangle, any condtion removal breaks entangle, teleporting breaks entangle, invul breaks entangle.
and does it matter if the condition is transferred to the pet or not? we switch pets every 15-20 seconds anyways.
I can counter cheesy thief spam, 100lb warrior, and dd ele easily. Mesmers I just ignore mostly because they are just an annoyance. But how do you deal with rangers now? Between double traps, there complete unintended immunity to conditions and rapid fire I have been unable to find a necromancer build capable of killing them. Rapid fire and pets particularly seem to chew me up.

the trap build has been here since day 1. rangers havent had a single buff since the release. and right now trapping is the only decent viable tpvp build for rangers.

l2p issue there, there are many ways to counter a trap ranger.
lol 30 secs to take down a bunker guardian,…are they supposed to be invincible? and if you lose as a bunker guardian in 30 secs, vs your ridiculous amount of blocks, invul, condt removal, armor, regen, knocbacks w/ hammer, your obviously bad.
yeah a tank ele can hold up 3v1 if there isnt too many stun bursts, while prodiving hella support to their team with wtf mobility.
a trap ranger is doomed 2v1, unless of course, your bad.

guess everyone forgot the point of a “TRAP.” the rangers only viable build in tpvp that can win only in a 1v1 with zero stun breakers, a very unreliable pet, and one random condition removal. the build is relatively new to the meta, and its not there isnt anyway to counter it. besides warrior and engi this class is awful.
lol a mesmer complaining about theives.. i guess you forget mesmer is best 1v1 class in game?
it increases the weight of the decision to swap to a weapon. it introduces an element of skill. also it is something that can be observed by opposing players and they can gain information about what they can do in the next 10-ish seconds. this also ties in with the whole idea of having skills tied directly to weapons, so an experienced enemy can know what you are capable of depending on your equipped weapon and if he’s seen you swap recently or not.
I don’t think this incorporated skill. this game is about team play, and in a team fight you wouldn’t be paying attention to what weapon they are using, and if so, it doesn’t change much. i believe the element of skill should be implemented into the weapons you chose to use, and being able to switch from them at your will that will benefit you given your situation.
elementalists and warriors basically have this free range of weapon swapping, so why not other professions?
agreed these devs need to do something quick. really spitting in the face of the pvp oriented playing gw2.

Most Feared: class so weak vs. Mesmers
least feared: warrior, guardian, condtion builds, necro, other ranger, engi, ele.
through all of it, i say mesmers are the strongest class in the game. toe to toe vs each class the mesmer will win reguardless if they know how to play it.
swap to the other pet. If someone is focusing on the pets even swapping wont do a kitten thing for you.
if you REAALLLLYYY need a range on them, 5k range sounds pretty good. they are pretty low damage and rarely have a good tank on them unless they are devourer. and at that point if one kills you i will have to laugh at you because their attacks are already easy to avoid. same as well, all pets due to how they run straight paths and stop once they get at the edge of their attack range. all you need to do is run in a wide circle and the pet wont hit you, even with sic em(unless you are chilled)
LOW dmg? not sure i would call 2k crits low while getting bit every 2sec for 500 dmg. i love my ranged pets keeping people poisoned,slow,rooted while doing 500-2k dmg while i #1 them to death with my machine gun/short bow
lol that “machine gun/shortbow” is weak if they are not full power mode., and if so, the ranger is very squishy. not to mention if you can stealth, evade, dodge, its not all that powerful. if your running a condtion build or survival, the shortbow basically does as much dps as 5 stacks of bleed.
If you’re really that annoyed by a PET?! Then just kill the pet, the ranger loses 30% of its damage for 1 minute…..

problem with spirits in pvp or anywhere in the game is their relatively low hp, as well as their little extremely limited aoe effects. anyone with the most minute amount of aoe dmg or channel of dmg can send your spirits soaring. spirits are rather useless unless you spend your time kiting. the next down side to spirits is the amount of traits you have to invest so that they can be the least bit practical, witch kills your offense. Not to mention the utility slots it robs you of so that when your spirits do die, witch they will, your basically defenseless .
