August 20th - The Queen's Speech

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Copain.1926

I can actually tell you what’s going to happen. The Queen isn’t the real queen, but a Mesmer controlling everyone. The Clock Knights or whatever start attacking people, they’re gotten rid of. We find the real queen, the end.

It’ll be stupid, lame, and have no real effect on the real world along with the rest of this boring update making no real interesting changes aside from culling. You won’t get interesting gear for having participated in the living world events up until now, you won’t feel a good sense of satisfaction with the story, and you’ll be done playing after a day.

Seriously Arenanet, seriously? You hype up this release and go “Yeah we get it, you want permanent content, we’re going to start showing you we get it this patch!” and then go “wooo one time event!”!? All this Culling change can do is make it so you can do some one time events easier. WOOOO!! That’s not permanent, that doesn’t solve anything. That doesn’t make the game more interesting.

What do you think of temporary content?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Copain.1926

I’ve been wondering what other players think of the fact that content updates have shifted to this living story style of content which results in temporary content. That is to say you have content that you can do for a set amount of time, and then it no longer exist.

Personally, I’m not sure I like it. While I enjoy Flame and Frost and the systems, I think it would have been nice for a full dungeon to be added that would stick around, or for that time to be spent on new gear sets, or new fractals, or the like. The biggest issue I see with the game is solid content; and while they are expanding on it, I don’t like that a rather large chunk of development time has been spent on something that’s just going to go away.

This also partly applies to the Super Adventure Box. Yes it’ll return, but it’ll be removed for now which means that’s just less to do in the game.

Yes other content was changed over time and added to the game aside from Flame and Frost, but I think it’s fairly safe to say that if Flame and Frost didn’t exist, we’d have had more permanent content in the Flame and Frost months.

However, my views are not everyone’s and I’m wondering what you think. Do you like the thought of a story oriented content patch series where only people playing at the time can see it? Meaning you’ll have unique gear that nobdoy else can get and have experienced parts of the game nobody else can? Or do you think you’d prefer solid content, something that doesn’t go away.

Anyone feel like Supply Camps need a change?

in WvW

Copain.1926

I feel that supply camps are fairly underpowered. I get that they’re supposed to be easily flipped, but it’s rather annoying to see one or two people be able to flip one unless it gets a bunch of upgrades. I had one fully upgraded earlier (with Hylek mercs) and everything was AOE’d down without me being able to do much.

I’m not saying I want Supply camps to be something super special or as hard as normal buildings, but it feels like a lose lose for anyone trying to hold them. Dolyaks do not give a reward for protection, only killing, the upgrades are fairly expensive considering you need full upgrades to have it take an extra person or two to flip it, and they’re often so out of the way that nobody wants to defend them. Not only that, but they’re often boring! Lacking in much to look at and mostly boring terrain that prevents me from wanting to run around like I would in a keep or Stonemist or even a basic tower!

Again, I really don’t want them to be amazingly hard to take or something, but why not make it so you could upgrade more interesting things about them or do more with it? Maybe make some defensive walls or a basic Arrow cart that auto respawns (granted you have to spend supply to get the upgrade and then rebuild it, but you get my point). Hell, even something like it keeps or towers having an upgrade that sends another unit or two to the supply camps would be great (giving extra desire to take them)!

I also feel that if they did do something like adding walls or other potential changes would really add a layer of depth to WvW. It’d be nice to have little small changes I could make that would really help out or be fun. Add another teleporter for my team to get into a base (The ones typically found outside gates), Add an extra bridge or stairs across some of the keep areas to get around easier, raise the height of a tower up a bit to allow for better aim and such.. I think upgrades like this could go a long way.

Thanks Arenanet!

I was so happy to see my friend get back into the game after I had been encouraging it awhile… He decided to try, but his account had been hacked awhile back (without him knowing if the e-mails he got were spam or not), so his account was banned. This happened the same day a game he’s played for years said it was going to close down.

But I worked with him and encouraged him to submit a ticket and you guys got back to him fast and said you can unban him! Thanks a lot Arenanet! I appreciate that you guys really work with your customers and are willing to understand happenings like this!

Gold selling bans means almost always that your friends account has been compromised (being hacked). Being hacked means someone found out his log-in details. This is either cause he used a username password also used on e.g. a forum or cause his computer is being monitored (e.g. a keylogger).

To get his account unsuspended he needs to file a support ticket. It is very likely he has to prove he bought that account (the product key will do). He will then get back access.

Also let him review his own online security. Im not saying it is his fault, but it isn’t arenanet’s fault either. Gold seller company’s are highly organised criminal organisations. Let him read this article:
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/mike-obrien-on-account-security/

Not exactly. for the longest time there was a Chinese group going around hacking everyone. or trying to anyway. I kept getting E-mails about them trying to log into my account from China for instance. I know a lot of people who this happened to, but they just stopped caring. This guy is a bit special in that I want to help him.

A friend of mine quit the game shortly out of launch and I recently convinced him that the game was in a good spot to play again.

He then tries to log in and suddenly he’s banned. When he looks it up it’s because his account was connected with gold selling apparently. This guy who hasn’t played since Launch with one character (That I know of) gets banned for that?

Is there any way we can appeal this? He spent eighty dollars on this and gets banned for something that isn’t his fault?

Something I’ve noticed lately is there’s no real… progression in the way you show off your items unless it’s extremely on one side of the line.

For instance, Legendaries (and some non) can cost you thousands of gold, but on the other side, 90% of the gear is below a hundred gold. Aside from maybe a few of the “Mist” weapons (pruple ones), you don’t really see any gear that isn’t insanely expensive, or fairly cheap (less than a hundred gold).

I think it’d be really nice to see some sort of middle ground items to farm for. Maybe some more items that require Gifts and such, but aren’t legendaries? They might have a nice unique design or look and set you back a hundred gold or so (Or more, just not to the extreme of legendaries).

I just don’t like how my options feel limited to buying a 40 gold item or a 2000 Gold item.

We’re just over a week from the patch, and we still don’t have much info being released on the patch page itself, why is this?

I get there’s various sources, but previous pages ( https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases/february-2013/ for example ) have listed the majority of the major updates we’d see for the patch, here we really don’t have that… why?

I figured it would be added over time or something, but even now that we have more info (Which isn’t much to be honest), we haven’t seen any change to the page..

The "Heavy-Armor-Thing"

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Copain.1926

Higher armor means harder to kill (not just the armor itself, but Guardian and Warrior also have nice defensive skills and traits), meaning a smoother run (normally). It might not be the fastest run, but you’ll typically have less deaths and wipes if you’re a defensive focused group able to slowly kill anything. A fast kill glass cannon group would run into issues on certain things. It’s not to say they can’t do it.. it’s just I’ve seen the effects of switching over to my Guardian and making a group that wipes on every pull never wipe again and have a smooth run (For the remainder of it anyway).

Also, while Guardian and Warrior have less… “Special” class features (Such as Mesmer Portals, Elementalist flexability, Etc), they have the core battle features as well as any other class has, and that’s what’s important in major fights.

If they wanted to make more classes more helpful, I’d suggest special mechanics that don’t require a class, but make it easier if you have. Maybe some boss room with a bunch of traps that deal some aoe damage that you can play through, but if you have a Thief Disarm them, it makes it a lot easier. Or a shortcut an Engineer could build a bridge for (Letting you skip a few trash pulls), and so on. Having utility room for the other classes to bring something other than “Battle power” would let the lighter armor classes retain popular use without needing to be made a bunch more powerful than the heavy armor people (Who’s specialty could easily remain that they’re good in fights).

Normally I don’t mind clipping since armor is made for multiple races and it’d take forever to get it right for everyone… However in the case of the T3 Heavy armor on males.. It probably clips more than most armors I’ve seen! This is armor made specifically for Humans, only they can use it—- More so it’s made for a story character (Probably the one used the most in advertisement and such as well), the main Human character… and it clips so heavily.. why?

Maybe you are getting rings like candy. But the last 20 Fractal level 30+ Dailies I have done did not net either a ring or a skin. So yes those pristine relics do have some uses. However I would also love to see more uses for them since by now all my characters have their rings (Over 500 fractal runs so far).

Right, even if you talk about them being hard to get, you’re talking at most 20 days to never again have to worry about rings. Once you get to the 30s, you can easily have it done by ~7 days.

Mutliple characters? Probably a ring every few days if only two or three.

High level Fractal items

Copain.1926

It really gets bothersome after awhile that all of the loot you get as a higher level Fractal player (That’s fractal exclusive loot) is effectively pointless. Shards of Crystallized mist essence for instance, you use it on two different things. A cosmetic only upgrade for a back item and to infuse rings.

But once you have your ring upgrade (or your cosmetic only upgrade if you go for that) you’re done with them, there’s no point to getting them anymore. The same goes for Pristine Fractal relics as well.

It might be okay if rings didn’t drop like candy from dailies, but the last five dailies I’ve done at 30+ I’ve gotten an infused ring! There’s no point in me spending pristine relics on a ring because they all just auto drop in upgraded form very often! And all this does is make it so Fractals are easier!

Why not have more cosmetic items made with the higher quality items like Shards or Pristine Fractal relics? Why limit us to only Rings or a back item? Fractals were supposed to be where we get the ascended gear, and now doing your dailies for laurels gives you a larger variety for less work than Fractals.

Even then that would be fine, but why not let us put the items we get to making an armor set or something? An armor set that doesn’t drop or anything, something we have to earn and that would allow people who run a lot of Fractals show off their work more than a back item (Which, mind you, can actually be made fairly easily without going that high, You only ever need one shard, and that’s just for the cosmetic upgrade).

Fractals are supposed to be the “End game” grind where you get rare or cool looking things, yet the only real stuff we get are a (potential) randomly generated weapon (again, cosmetic only) and a bunch of tokens for mostly non cosmetic items.

The drop rate still seems abysmal…

During the last few days, I ran 5 Fractal runs, levels 10, 11, 12, 12 and 14. I got a whooping total of 1 rare. Yes. 5 runs, no mob skipping in maw, and 1 rare. In addition, I got a exotic which is account bound and wrong armor class for my character, also got 3 cores from the jade maw chests (between 6-20s each which is unimportant). So 6 hours of playtime netted me 1 ecto.

I don’t think they are gonna drop anytime soon.

Why not just cut down on the stacks of bleed each class can apply and make them stronger? IE no “applies five stacks of bleed”, it’ll just apply one strong one? It’s not the perfect fix, but it’d be a vast improvement and allow a lot more breathing room, at the very least letting multiple condition users to exist.

My main is not a mesmer (although I have an 80 Mez). I have no problem being the “victim” of Mesmer lurve.

But let’s be clear about one thing: While temporal Temporal Curtain is nice, it is neither the only nor the greatest (read best) “knocker downer” available to defend JP.

  • Necros can be devastating in JP
  • Warriors can make your life a living hell in JP
  • Hunters and Thieves both have exceptional “keep Copain away from the chest” abilities.

And that’s just a sample.

Please, please… think, make friends, and don’t sweat the small stuff.

Except none of those can pull without out Line of Sight (meaning you’re not even safe in areas you should actually be safe in. SUCH AS THE VERY ENTRANCE THAT PUTS YOU HIGH UP WITH LOS), create clones of themselves to keep you in battle, allow their allies to do literally whatever they want to you because they can just port them back, and so on.

Anyone can make the jumping puzzle a pain. Nobody does it as well as the Mesmer. Your team can have ran the entire Jumping puzzle, but if one Mesmer gets to the end area, you literally lose any control of the chest you coulda had. Which isn’t hard considering the plethra of stealth moves they have.

It’s really starting to get on my nerves that the only class that has to finish the jumping puzzle anymore is a Mesmer and then they dominate the chest and nobody else can finish because the previous areas just need a Mesmer to knock you off or pull you off with spells that don’t need LoS.

I agree that competition should exist there and people should fight and there should be roadblocks, but I don’t like that whoever has the Mesmer at the end auto wins the area because they can get a bunch of people up instantly and have insane ways to make you start over…

It does make it highly confusing for people like me who are used to GW2 but don’t play other MMOs. Maybe it’s also because I’m tired but I have absolutely no idea what you mean by “aura”, unless you mean all skills which buff allies.

Can someone explain what it means in the context of this thread please?

It means that anyone who comes close to the person gets the buff and lose it when they leave instead of it randomly applying a buff that last for 7 seconds.

It took me awhile to understand what you were asking due to the use of the word “Aura”. In this game, Auras are an Elementalist skill system.

Does it matter what Aura means in this game? It’s a universal term that I think you can figure out. Just because it’s a skillset type doesn’t mean the actual use of the word gets voided.

Personally, I’d rather see the little flashing icons than to have them stack on multiple auras.

If you’ve ever been in a huge WvW battle with all 3 servers players stacked up in SM’s great hall, you’d understand. It’s already very graphic intensive from all of the AoE’s going off. Add auras to all that mess and it could, potentially, become 100x worse.

I don’t mean change visuals, just the buff bar

Why are Auras not actually auras?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Copain.1926

I’ve been wondering for awhile now as to why player classes do not seem to get auras when traits seem to indicate something should be an aura… A for instance would be the Warrior Trait to give power to your allies. instead of it being an aura, it’s just a random buff you apply to them that goes away after a set time. In Theory it achieves the same thing, but in reality this leads to a constant flash from all the buff bars over and over because the duration of it has it almost always flashing and it keeps refreshing itself so you just see more flashing.

It’s already shown with things like Lava or (certain areas with) Poison that the Anet team has the ability to make Auras (When you enter Lava, you get a buff, when you leave, it goes away). Why not make the player skills that give passive buffs like that into auras? It’d cut down on annoying flashing and probably make it a bit easier to understand if it was just passively active (Similar to Guardian buffs) than active only in battle.

While I understand your meaning, I’d actually be more inclined to do it with a developer for the ensuing comedy. xD

Yeah, and upon retrospect, whenever I throw on my dev tag for a dungeon, people tend to show me exploits and point them out >.<
However I have been thoroughly amused at times. I tend to hide my dev tags when finding a PUG, and then halfway through the dungeon I will tag up, and watch everyone leave the instance within minutes.

The problem here being how needed some of the exploits are :x. I don’t normally like having to do something “Cheap” to beat a boss, but it’s extremely frustrating to kill a lot of bosses and content the “Designed” way. I really think when you guys go back and fix said exploits, it would be nice if you could rebalance the fights. I want to have fun and not just exploit my way through the game, but I actually want to be able to clear the dungeons too.

WTF are you on? I do that kitten on my Guardian all the time. The only thing that actually seperates a Guardian from a thief is ability to stealth/port and ability to frontload all weapon skills at once instead of having them be apportioned over time via reuse timers and maybe access to one or two better slows than the Guardian has.

On top of also having more evasion and stun moves, which means a LIGHTER ARMOR CLASS has MORE UTILITY than a HEAVIER ARMOR CLASS and can be MORE FLEXIBLE like I said?

But neither class is really going to be doing multiple things at once, at least not if you want to do anything well because you won’t be geared for it. Every class to a certain extent is able to heal/dps/cc/tank but the truth is that no class excels at any of these and simply becomes better at doing Y than X or Z but only in so far as they have the stat allocations and skill allocations which were necessary to make them better. However they never stopped being able to do X or Z and given the very limited nature of the skill selections available and over reliance on forcing the players to passively use autoattacks it is actually impossible for any class to only do Y and not also do X and Z.

Bunker Build Elementalist for quite awhile were able to be ridiculously hard to kill while having a large amount of CC (thanks to the elementalist base weapon spells), having a large amount of buffs (Again, weapon skills), And being able to heal. They didn’t give much up in any field and were strong in all fields.

You are clearly misunderstanding the idea of balance that I was refering to. When I said balance I very clearly meant that the difference in armor needs to be balanced by a difference in damage such that both classes are able to surivive the same kitten and come out of combat with the same amount of hp afterwards. I never said that one class (oh no I didn’t use profession!) should be doing damage and should only be able to do damage and one class should be tanking and should only be able to tank. Any such inferences, deductions or interpretations about my position that you made were your own and quite incorrect.

Your logic in itself says that the lighter armor classes should be doing more damage where as the heavier ones should be dealing less while tanking hits. You can’t say that and then say you aren’t saying it.

A “Small” difference or not, a difference is a difference that people who want to be efficient care about. There’s a reason CoF parties want Mesmers and Warriors right now, because you can farm super fast and clear the dungeon super fast with that group. That doesn’t mean an Ele can’t do it, it means that the Warrior is better at it so they take warriors only in the faster groups.

Damage is an impossibly bad thing to say “This class should do more for X reason” because then you’re making a lot of classes null and void in the more hard core people who play your game (Who are often the ones spending a good amount of money on it). You balance the more fragile class to have more flexibility and utility, not more damage. This is why you see the Warrior and the Guardian sticking to their few main roles of fighting (The Warrior doing damage and being tanky, the Guardian… guardian everyone) while you see other classes have more ways to achieve the same goal. Elementalist have a ton of variety in their spells that allow them to do just about anything, Mesmers have insane support spells and abilities to keep themselves and the group alive. This is because they’re the lightest armor class, not just because they’re their class.

I’ll agree the AI needs a bit of work, but something people need to realize is that The lighter classes should be dieing more if you’re not playing them well. The whole concept is that the lower your armor class, the harder you have to play.

No that isn’t the idea at all. The idea is that the lower your armor is the more damage you are supposed to be doing under the theory that the more damage you are doing then the faster the mobs are dying so you will be exposed to fewer hits.

Only an idiot would give up armor in order to get nothing or less than nothing in return.

Who said a single thing about not getting anything? Your compensation is the fact that you have insane flexibility and utility. You don’t see a Warrior ressurecting all his allies and then turning around and giving them all haste. You don’t see a Guardian causing bleed to his enemies then knocking them back before crippling them and causing Vulnerability while having an insane amount of other things to do (such as heal, Create large AOEs, and so on).

I think it’d be ridiculous if you got just as much damage as you lost in armor and all the ridiculous spells the lighter armor classes have already on top of that. It’d be insanely bland to because they said they wanted to get away from the whole “Tank/Healer/DPS” thing, but your logic is only cloth users should DPS and you should bring a Guardian along to take the damage for them.

I personally find Mesmers and Ele’s OP, but I know that they have to be played pretty hard to do well and aren’t easy to play (Don’t think that justifies them being able to 1v3 a lot of the time in PVP though).

There’s a few quest I’ll agree are ridiculous, such as the Human’s defense of the Queen quest when you use the Vigil since the NPCs die super fast, but for the most part, death is your own fault for picking a class and not working to play to its fullest. The story side of things is often there to teach you mechanics for the rest of the game. You need to learn to fight mobs that swarm you or survive in harsh situations, because you’ll do that in dungeons and in PVP.

Also A-net and us as customer’s have found that just smashing content out ofer one week or weekend locks out alot of players and there needs to be time for everyone to try it if thay can.

Just the fact that there doing this is pretty amazing as this is often the type of game story telling you only see in something like a mudd

This stuff is already done and put on our client.

patience young padewan. (spelling?)

It will come in phases, but they’re going about it slowly and methodically instead of just hitting us all at once like they have been. There’s no law (as far as storytelling goes) that says these refugees can’t camp out for two or three weeks before whatever supplanted them decides to make itself known.

All we know is they’re there and they’re seeking shelter. From a story perspective, that’s all Anet needs to show.

Which means you didn’t read my post since I specifically means I didn’t want a bunch of content from it, just to see one more refugee appear in town or something.

I agree that not getting loot is a problem, but it’s ridiculous how many people just want baby mode dungeons. You’re upset because you have to learn a fight and have to learn how to stay alive, like it was intended. What you want is to just throw your body at it like a mindless zerg.

I’ll agree some fights are improperly tuned, but that should be fixed, not just letting you zerg a boss with no skill.

Here’s the thing for me: This is a TEAM effort. Everyone in the TEAM has their role to play. My complaint is that a member of my TEAM worked kitten hard, and the TEAM accomplished the goal…. but one member of the group is not getting the reward.

It’s not about throwing bodies at it, it’s not about zerging things down. I’ve had moments in a fight where I do things that are suicidal because it’s important…. Guardian GS skill #5 and drawing a room full of trash onto myself to keep an NPC alive because we needed a few moments of breathing room to get everyone else back into action…. I die, event succeeds. Great strategy? Maybe not, desperate strategy, sure, and successful.

Some times it’s a last damage spike from a boss that downs a player, sometimes the boss “likes” one player and chases them in circles and they can’t get clear of the thing. Some times you play well, and you still go down.

I’m going to be mean for a moment and quote Robert from a few months back:

Personally, I love that my content kills players and challenges them. I feel pretty kittenty though when my content beats someone into the ground and takes their lunch money. I at least want you to walk away with something more than a repair bill and some random blues, and folks here are working on that very thing.

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/dungeons/4-hours-of-Arah-EM-and-no-shards/first#post392172 <—- full post for context.

I’m fine with people dieing in the pursuit of victory. It happens, it is not a result of the dungeon being over-tuned and it is not always the result of a player having a L2P issue. But, I would like to see all players in the dungeon team be eligible for loot.

This is a great point. If the TEAM wins, then everyone on the TEAM should get the loot.

If a player makes a move, be it an act of valor to save the encounter at their cost of themselves, or even just did not dodge in time and bit the dust, in the end, when we walk in, we go in as a team. Thus every bit of loot should be open to every member on that team.

It is a wasteful and discouraging mechanic to require each team member to all hit the same mob, to get the loot. In fact, it rewards people for NOT taking a risk to save their team mate, after all, why should I stick my neck out to raise you and risk getting killed myself, as opposed to keep kiting this mob and get my loot. Sucks to be you for dying tho.

There is no question that this is a wrong mechanic, and I hope the developers look into is and fix it as it encourages people to let other party members die and to not risk themselves even if it would help the team, in fact the mechanic where a player who may have died gets no loot inspires selfish play as opposed to team play. I can hope that maybe the developers will see this problem and fix it.

My very first post here had me saying “The loot system is a problem” I’m only talking about the waypoint change, not the loot system.

Because if you already almost never go down and you only go down in “That time” when your group does something wrong and should be punished for it, and you don’t want even that to happen and instead just be able to still get a free win… we have a problem.

Individual accomplishment vs. Group accomplishment. My personal opinion is that as long as the individual is contributing to the success of the group, that is game play worthy of receiving reward in a cooperative multi-player game.

If one player dies at the beginning of a fight, and is ressed by the team before the fight ends, but another player dies near the end of the fight and the team is not able to res that player before the boss dies, is the first player more deserving of loot than the second?

The expectation that flawless performance is required needs to go away. It’s okay for players to die. You do your best to make sure it doesn’t happen, you do your best to res your teammates when downed so they don’t become defeated, and if the team succeeds, the team gets rewards.

Armor repair and being forced to sit out while your team gets to play the game is punishing enough.

Believe it or not, I play enough that the occasions where I’ve been disqualified for boss loot are memorable because they’re few and far between, and because in some instances (not getting loot because I was ressing a defeated player) the mechanic struck me as odd.

That being said, it makes me pretty kitten mad when I’m organizing groups for my guild that include people that play once or twice a week and they’re discouraged by mechanics that feel overly punishing. Watching some of them walk out of a dungeon with a 10s+ repair bill and a lack of boss loot is painful because they’re frequently disinclined to come back.

I can support a lack of res zerg. I really can. Parties shouldn’t become endless waves of people running back from waypoints. The punishing part should be when the entire party wipes. Then the group (and the encounter) reset, and the group has to come back and try again, hopefully with some lessons learned.

I said at the very start of my first post here that not getting loot if you’re dead is a bad thing.

Is this really it for the "Living storty"?

I really love the concept of the Livng story system. A long term story that has subtle changes you see over time. A dev mentioned you might see a new NPC here a new building there, and over time things would change.

The problem I’m having here is it’s not happening. I’m not saying I want to be fighting some boss or I want a new event, but what I want is to see changes. I expected by now we’d atleast see the Refugee camp in the Norn town to be a bit bigger, or see more Refugees walking around. Or maybe some kind of way to donate to build shelters.

Instead it’s a week with the same few Refugees sitting in the same three tents in the same area. Apparently all the refugees we help into town just stop existing and one hundred of them can’t generate one extra NPC in the camp…

Why can’t there be more phases to this living story system? I don’t mind slow progress, but I want there to be progress, something shown, development.. Not just the same thing until suddenly there’s some big change..

Guardian is my main as well. Greatsword as well (with staff sometimes used). I’m not even building super bulky (though I do go for a bit) and I can use my skill five to get mobs to me, keep my group alive, and never die myself easily. I’ve yet to have a problem and I’m not even in the best gear—- more so for a tankish playstyle.

If you honestly think playing a Guardian and using a greatsword gives you an excuse to die, you’re dead wrong.

Not an excuse to die. Things are situational. Generally, I don’t go down on my guardian, even when lasoing a ton of trash…. sometimes, I’ve been slammed on enough by something else that NOW is not a good time to do it, but it needs to be done NOW before the event fails.

Not all the time, not every time, but that time.

Why is it that if you talk about something resulting in a death people think you die all the time?

Because if you already almost never go down and you only go down in “That time” when your group does something wrong and should be punished for it, and you don’t want even that to happen and instead just be able to still get a free win… we have a problem.

New buildings and such? Yeah I support that. It would be cool if we could help build things like Refugee houses too.

I fully agree with the removal of waypoint rushing…. But… Could encounters get toned down a slight? I ran a few dungeons today and while a lot of the encounters were tuned properly that proper strategy could beat them, there were a lot of fights we did juts plain wrong or exploited things in order to beat.

when the fights were about over I decided to try and jump in and see what the actual fight would be like (Such as the Nightmare tree, spider path) and I died only a few seconds after getting on the floor (This includes getting back up and going back down until instant death).

This is badly tuned and I don’t feel it’s something we can beat legitly.

Again, I fully agree that we shouldn’t just throw our bodies at a boss and beat them that way, but I don’t know if the fights are tuned properly right now for us not to do that.

All I’m asking is for a quick go over on the dungeons and see what people can and can’t normally do and adjust some numbers. Encounters do not need a redesign or anything.

I agree that with the waypoint spam disbaled
