In the finisher menu it says “Season 1 third place finisher” but it’s locked.
Same here. Finished meta, got chest, server took 3rd. Not finding finisher.
I’ve been bouncing back and forth between 30/30/10/0/0 with Spectral Attunement and 30/20/10/0/10 with Spectral Master trying to decide if losing Target the Weak is worth the boost in LF/generation.
At this point it seems like a coin toss.

I’m currently running your hybrid build. I stack perception with spare swords (twice as fast) before switching to force/generosity and I’m experimenting with sigil of earth on staff and extra bounce trait to give staff more punch. I also run with focus depending on situation and have hydromancy on it.
When I feel like really spiking I replace decoy with mantra of pain and add it to my burst rotation. Two charges crit for 2k each and recharge is fast enough.
I messed around with a 0/20/20/0/30 build but really felt the loss in burst and overall damage. Felt like I needed a complete gear change to make it work. I’ll revisit it again one of these days.

“Generally speaking” GS does better 1v1 damage and higher front loaded damage. Hammer has better control, potentially higher AoE, and better defense.
I farm with GS. I WvW, boss fight, and solo large group mobs with hammer.

It’s essentially a tie. The lead has changed so many times it probably changed again while I wrote this.
Our former competitors (and even some of our own folks) predicted we would get curb stomped in Tier 2. That makes this first 24 hours that much more satisfying. It’s a 7 day fight and a holiday week so it will be a very interesting week.

It can be decent if traited but it’s not worth traiting. I keep scepter/shield/focus in the bag and swap based on situation. I run a 58% crit build and crits definitely boost #1 and #2. My biggest complaint is the aesthetic/animations. I’d be happier with a bow even if basic functions remained the same.
That said, typical WvW fights have evolved and charging in with melee is much more common and effective. The same thing happened in DAoC. Guardian is an effective front line fighter and line breaker.
Mine is shelved until they figure out what they’re trying to do with the class. I’m assuming it’s something other than nerf and bug it into the ground. I could be wrong.
A guardian was my first 80. My mesmer is my third 80 and my favorite class. This change makes it WORSE than the guardian for sieges (guardians at least have one large circle, albeit weak, AOE to apply pressure). The “cooldown on obstructed” issue breaks it in PVE as well. We could barely compete in DE tag situations and now we’re wasting half of those cast attempts because of a pebble, tree, or object edge in PVE.
iZerker was not overpowered. It dies in one hit. It was our only option for wall combat. It applied pressure just like every other AOE attack out there and was good for one shot before dying in 99% of uses. iZerker’s have been the least of my worries in siege battles regardless of whether I’m playing my guardian, engineer, or mesmer. Now they’re absolutely worthless.
I don’t want to shelve it but this just seems to be too severe an impact without anything to compensate for it (increased size of Mind Stab circle at least?). I’ll will probably be switching back to my engineer or leveling a new alt until this gets sorted out. Sad panda. Kittens.
