Tanky builds are great for surviving in a big zerg, but if you are interested in dealing damage, I would recommend getting at least 50% crit chance, and 50-70% critical damage. In order to maintain your survivability, I would recommend keeping 2500-2900 armor, and at least 20k HP. This can be achieved with a mixture of Berserker, Knight’s, and Cavalier’s gear.

I agree about the damage stats. Going soldiers gear for everything increases power a bit and vitality a lot but sacrifices crits and armor. That being said, I’d recommend 2900 armor as a minimum for the front line. IMO, the only time you should ever go down is if your entire zerg gets wiped.

It will be recieving several buffs with the Dec. 10th patch. about 150 power boost from the death 25 pt trait and even more power from the Blood 25 pt trait if above 75% health. Assuming the build is still 20/0/25/25/0.

If you wanted to run a similar build, but add a higher crit chance and a better defensive trait. I would go 20/0/25/10/15, and swap some soldiers gear for Knight’s gear.

how do you go about testing builds like this? I’m fairly new to the game and just scared to try new builds because I don’t want to waste money.

We will use this build along the new Dec13. Patch coming up. Would it be possible to make a more tanks build for dungeons and wvw and be effective? Or would it just be a waste? Using armor such as knight or soldier stats. What weapons would it use? I love my dps necro so much but it want to make it more suitable for wvw and kinda take a more unique approach.

If a for on DPS build is better then please guide to the build perfect build. Once again implementing the patch that’s soon to release.

This is the closest I know to a soldiers build but its mostly knights, assuming since it has such low crit chance/damage you could go soldiers instead. The thread is here on the front page. Personally I have never tried the build so i can’t “recommend” it. Also I don’t know any necros that run a full PVT gear set.

The reason behind this is more looks haha i want to use the SE armor so I guess any DPS or “build” that uses knight/carrion/soldier, I could just transmute it all but that is a hassle and for a DPS WvW I feel like i should change to something more tanky

Does anyone do Cursed Shore train on darkhaven server and/or different servers? I’m looking to start my journey for my legendary and I think CS train is better than FS. What do you think I should do? If someone would be interested in either train let me know.

I would like to note that Flame Legion armor already comes with Rampager stats as one of the options (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Officer_Veros). However, If you were to want a look that didn’t use a stat-choice you wanted, then you would have to use a transmutation crystal.

There are certain “looks” that are not craftable, both in armor and weapons. Other than that, you can craft the best items of any given level (bar pre-level 10). Keep in mind that the best equipment at any given level is very, very standardized and the only difference between two pieces of gear will be the different stat distributions, the looks, and the rune in place.

In regards to that, the different stat distributions will mean any 1-3 choices of your stat (depending on the level) with one primary and up to two secondary stats which will follow a system noted on the wiki (ingame type: /wiki Item Nomenclature).

The looks can be anything you want respective to that [armor]type (Medium has to be a Medium armorskin, Heavy has to be a Heavy armorskin, Light has to be a…), but can be anything, including starter gear oe even Legendary (in regards to weapons. Yes, you can run around at level 1 with a Legendary weapon, if you have it ready and are willing to spend some extra money to be silly).

The rune is equivalent to an enchantment in any other game. The bonus you get from the rune is equivalent to how many of that rune you are wearing. If you are wearing 5 of the same runes (not including aqua breather, which is basically your underwater hat), then you will, in TOTAL get all the bonuses from 1-5. You will not get the bonuses 5x, nor will you only get one of the bonuses. You will get ALL OF THE BONUSES ONCE.

Basically almost the same as WvW roaming build. I go full rabid and get runes of the necromancer(20%) longer fear. with 30% duration from spite 20% fear from runes, and 50% longer fear duration trait, you’ll proc 2 ticks of damage.

These seem to be the “go to builds” . But it’s important to remember to use them as guides. As you get to know the class better, find your own playstyle. For example, in wvw zerg i settled on some strange mix of spoj and acsii with spectral traits and runes of earth. Quite a bit of protection I am comfortable with and still a bit of power and it works for me.

I just got GW2 last week and I love it! (my first mmo) I have a lvl 23 mesmer and enjoy it but necro sound so fun. So I made one and haven’t played any with it. What builds are their to play (pve) and can I have some sort of guide to necros (on here or link)? How do necros do in pvp/spvp/wvw? The builds I’ve seen are dps/hybrid/mm/conditions, I really don’t know what any of them consist of cause I don’t know the profession itself. For pve I wouldn’t mind have a build that is more balanced so I guess a hybrid one? If a more one sided build is better that is fine too. I just need some info on this interesting profession please

I just got the game last week and I’ve played with people here and the game is just best with people. I’m looking for someone that can play “daily” miss a day here and there. I have a lvl 23 Mesmer or we can start a character together. I have a lvl 1 necro I want to start. I am on darkhaven NA server and in MST, I get on about 630 everyday and on a lot on weekends.
