That’s because it looks like you are using php. I have a static php version as well that works in all browsers. The issue only comes up when you move to javascript, for the reason mentioned by the post under yours. I’m looking for a workaround, as I’d much rather continue the javascript version since it auto updates the data without having to refresh the page (something that cannot be done with php alone).

Well that explains it… Man, I hate IE lol.
So looks like only IE10 supports CORS and for IE8/9 I would need to build a postMessage proxy. Which to me means that IE8/9 users are going to get a static PHP version haha.

I know this thread is closing in on 2 weeks old, but this is a perfect example of the issue I’m having.

Hopefully they get a daily WvWvW map going to help with this week long battle against the same people you just got done battling again and again and again and again and again…

Especially when your server is now winning by 100k a week… must really suck for the other two servers… day after day, week after week, month after month… get the point yet devs?

There needs to be a new ranking system and realistic representation of server progression rather then population battles amongst 4 separate borderlands during off hours…

Haha, agreed. I’m looking to switch to a new game as GW2 WvW is getting pretty boring. I thought that was going to be TESO until watching the leaked footage. A lot can change from now to release, but if it remains the same as in that footage, I’m going to keep looking.
As for GW2, I may still pop in from time to time to see if WvW became exciting again, but with the history of WvW patches, I have my doubts. Traps were really the final straw for me. You added a new feature to the game that oddly made it more boring than it was getting before the patch.
I’ll stop crying now, off to play Bioshock Inf until I can find another online game that interests me.

SF would love to have some t8 hell-forged brothers with us. KWBH was another one of those forces to be reckoned with on ET. We’re looking for more people regardless as we settle into our tier and would definitely prefer it was people we knew were competent and good at WvW.

Confusion and retaliation were intended to punish their victims for lack of awareness. They’re like Empathy and Backfire from GW1. Confusion applies to an enemy, Retaliation applies to yourself.
The issue is that too many players are incapable of developing situational awareness and end up punished by these conditions. Instead of making these players adapt, anet nerfs these skills so they don’t have to.

Problem is games where player skill is required don’t pull in money anymore. The shareholders say nerf these things and make Arrow carts overpowered and the devs listen.

In small scale combat, I agree completely. Idiots spamming skills will kill themselves. I think this change however was because of how common almost constant confusion in larger scale combat was becoming. Don’t attack isn’t a solution for confusion if it is constantly being reapplied. Confusion bombs were the issue in my opinion, not just a 1v1 kind of situation where somebody couldn’t simply wait out the couple seconds of confusion.

SF is greater than Darkhaven, I don’t think darkhaven will see T5 for a long long time. Because when SF moves to T5 the server that went to T6 from T5 will most likely be better than darkhaven as well.

Hmm, kind of hard to say since I think DH and SF will both evolve a lot after a couple weeks of this current match-up. I look forward to DH and SF feeding off of each other to the point where we both belong in T5. Given time I think we will see quite the difference in all three servers in this tier. IoJ will evolve a lot in this match-up as well, I’m just speaking mostly about DH and SF because of what I am replying to.

Wow, what the heck is wrong with some of you?
Somebody from [PvP] posted a video where he was clicking skills and people are making fun of him for it? Why? It’s a game. [PvP] is a casual guild full of casual players. Some of us have a gaming background and know why it’s better to use keybinds over clicking and some of us don’t. We are all striving to get better at all times. We have never, and will never kick anybody or not allow somebody in, based on their in-game skill. That’s not what we are about.

EDIT: I should mention that this player has asked us why it’s better to use keybinds over clicking and we gave him some reasons. If he changes his play style, it will likely help his game after the learning curve, and if he doesn’t, we will love him just the same.

[PvP] is a guild that enjoys each others company in TS and like to do the best we can in the battlefield. We are not elitists and I for one don’t pretend to be. Like I said, our requirements to be in [PvP] don’t have a single thing to do with skill. We’ve only ever kicked people for bad attitudes and trolling.
The player that posted the video that some of you enjoy picking to pieces is a really nice guy, and I enjoy his company anytime he is with us. We aren’t all setting out to create the super elite guild that can take on the world. Some of us have a competitive gaming background, and some are playing their first MMO ever right now. I’m one of the ones playing my first MMO right now, and I’m sure I have a lot to learn (I come from competitive FPS).
I might be saying more than the guild wants me to here, but here are a few facts about [PvP] guild:
-We have no skill requirement to join.
-We always have a good time together, win or lose.
-We try our best to keep a positive attitude in our player base.
-We are not elitists, and don’t/shouldn’t pretend to be.
-I think we do pretty well on the battlefield considering our diversity (skill, play hours, commitments, etc)

If your like-minded guild would ever like to GvG us, we are down for that, and I would hope that win or lose, neither side would come in here and be idiots about it. If we GvG any group, it’s going to be for the fun of it, not for kitten bragging rights.
You’re guild wants to 5v10 us? No thanks, that’s a lose/lose for us. Take your ego somewhere else, as we are a casual guild and I wouldn’t want to put our members in a place where they feel they NEED to step their game up or move to another guild… that’s just not what [PvP] is about.
We are simply about having a good time together and doing the best we can to stay organized and alive :P We lose some and we win some, but we always have a good time. I don’t want to jeopardize that.

Also, to the HoD that descided to put a bunch of seige ontop of the roof vista in the north of NSP BL, way to crash 80% of our games by firing all that seige at once. Was really fun though trying to get to you, hiding from the seige. Was really funny indeed, too bad none of us got to see it through (I understand that some of you crashed as well?) .

I got a kick out of that, and coincidentally took a pic for everyone.

This was so much fun. We kept trying different things to get position and each one kept failing one by one. Was a blast trying to get to you though. Really wish half of both sides didn’t crash there, it may have been a long standoff. Hats off to you guys, that was really cool.

SF is very adaptable. Many of us will put aside differences for the common good to achieve victory. Whether it be by small-man groups, large zergs, or seige. We will pull through. If you have a problem with the number of people or size of our zergs wish us happy travels as we try to push tier 6.

But, what fun is that? Letting your opponents get a free pass? Most of NSP and HoD forces are out there battling these large numbers. Some victorious others not so lucky. I have deep respect for those players. Instead of saying 5v5 me or 1v1 me and we’ll see who’s the best! They’re out there going “where are the most SF to kill today?” “Let’s show these SF they are on our territory.” Those are the guys you’re small man groups should join. If you have 5 small man guilds with around 10 people on each. That’s 50 people that you say are more skilled than that of equal numbers. So, 50 more skilled people should be able to wipe our 50 man zerg easy. However, not saying you should do this, just thought it would be a cool idea for the small roaming guilds to try out. If you prefer looking for small fights all the power to you! If SF rolls in way to big parties maybe try finding fights with NSP or HoD?

SF has a mean WvW population now that we are out of T7 many of us are aiming for higher in the tier list. Eventually, we will meet servers with the same WvW population and that’s when SF can prove that we aren’t as skill-less as many thought. Until then let’s keep the good fights going!

About corpse dancing, it’s going to happen. Especially if people have a grudge against another. Although if I have a grudge against you: I will spike you, if I honour you I will attack you while you suffer on the ground until you drop dead, if I see that you have great potential I will allow you to live.

This is all MY own opinion. Props to Os, NSP [guild], LK, and many other players and guilds for trying to put shackles around SF’s feet and pull us down. It’s been a blast.

Also, for how many numbers the PVP guild fields, it may surprise you once you find out.

Was a fun duel to watch. To be honest my spec and build are really bad for small groups, 1v1-5v5. Or else I would have tried to duel you. Our zerg gets pretty big when randoms start following us, but we like to look for the most action and so do they.

Maybe, in the future we can have a drink of tea, chat, then rip each other apart.

Good post Verras, and a good point on the build bit at the end. When I want to duel, and want to duel somebody outside of our server, I go to WvW, but in my dueling gear, which is a bit closer to what I would enter sPvP in. We do have plenty of 5 – 10 man guilds on SF, but most of them find that they like the sPvP gameplay more, as it’s more suitable to their size.
My most memorable moments, and some of the most fun I’ve had in WvW have been when we fight ZvZ. Sometimes our numbers are larger, sometimes they are smaller. We win some and we lose some, but the battles are always fun.
If you’re not having fun, move on to something else.

Not that I have something against them, but because it’s an ANet employee and I’m literally beating them at their own game ……… sometimes :P

You’re willing to throw out the word “cheating” before being willing to learn the class you are talking about? There is a limit, and you can see the limit clearly on a buff symbol on your character.
My advice, if you don’t know every class out there fairly well, is to enter sPvP and begin to learn what all of the classes can do and what their restrictions are.
Anyway, to those that think SF has no skill.
[PvP] has made it clear now that we are down for XvX GvG.

As a commander who’s fought SF for months and months now, I’ll say this. SF generally doesn’t go all out on reset night like most servers do, and I’m assuming a lot of their players didn’t know/realize that they would be moving up a tier either, so don’t let your guard down! They might really crank up the heat in the next couple days, especially once players log in and realize its a different matchup.

Best of luck in T7 SF, make them feel some of the pain you gave us for the past 2-3 months xD.

Lots of crashes when portals drop I’ve noticed. I’ve crashed at other times since the last patch (still in WvW) but it seems like there are a lot when portals are dropped.

It would appear that the change we are making will impact the ratings for the next matchup. I do not know specifically who will end up where, but it is likely that SF will break out and someone else will drop. If not this week, then likely the next.

I’d love to give you an ETA, but there isn’t one. It’s one of those things where we have to get some solutions, design through the problems, scrap all those, start again, get better solutions, then implement them. Depending on the nature of those solutions, they could be quickly implemented or they could require some time. The promise I will make is that as we get a clearer understanding of the time frame I’ll make sure everyone knows. Specifics are always going to be hard to come by, but I can at least give you all that much.

It’s a fact not really well known over here, but Glicko 2 works better when the same opponents don’t fight every week. It is sane to have the lower ranked guys sometimes play against middle-ranked guys as a kind of “poll”, just to check that the lower guy has not improved his skills.

We are aware of this fact and we are trying to decide what we actually want to do about it. It’s more complicated than just that though as there are aspects of scoring that are not reflective of the quality of individual servers as well. Until we address the underlying scoring issues, it’s just a temporary solution though. To that end we are actively designing things that we hope will, if not solve, at least ameliorate the scoring issues.

What we would really like is a rough ETA. We’ve been told you were looking in to it before, and yet some of us have been in the same match-up for months. If it’s going to be a while for the solution fine, but do something temporary soon please

Note: since WvW scoring is a zero-sum game, we will need to evenly scrape any of the points that would need to be added to the bottom tier to keep that at floor level, from all of the other servers.
There are other ways to approach this. I think that a floor for the scores is a great idea, but we can’t just make points from nowhere and maintain the zero-sum that we have been maintaining this entire time.
