I have also encountered this issue on 358.50. Sometimes it appears on the character select screen already, sometimes only a few seconds after logging into the game. I’m using a 660m as well, so it id probably mobile GPU related.

It’s not fixed…
I’ve tried waiting, relogging, doing the story on an other character then trying to do the achievements on it. Nothing helps, the mote doesn’t show up.

Why are the skins disappeaing?

in Black Lion Trading Co

DCM.3654

The logical explanation is that these skins were probably not selling that well anymore, so ANet decided to squeeze the last drops of money out of them by removing them and thus creating demand for them.
In a few months, when they return for a week only – because they will – everyone is going to be all over them again, which means even more black lion keys sold. Simple.

I’ve noticed that it went up by almost 100g in price in the last 3 days. (http://www.gw2tp.com/item/63856-scarlets-rainbow) Did I miss a dev forum post or something about it that made it go up suddenly or is it just a random demand increase?

You should know by now that if you want a rare drop item in this game, it is always, 100%, definitely better to just buy it from the TP than to start gambling away your hard earned money. I’d suggest you cut your losses and buy it straight up.

Also Danicia is likely not located where the TP servers are so it’s not like she can pop down a few cubicles to ask. And since the employees who work on the TP servers or connection to the Internet don’t report to Danicia I suspect she’ll find out only if she goes through company channels which is both time consuming, susceptible to “telephone game” garbling of information.

Yes, that is her job.

Shame this unforeseen issue has occured, I wanted to try a new build tonight :/.

Ticket number 562681. Submitted 9 days ago, received no reply aside from 2 automated replies apologising for taking long, but that was several days ago as well.

It would be greatly appreciated if you could at least provide an update on the status of my issue.

Is this it?

DCM.3654

You tell me. What else were you hoping for from this update? If you were running around killing stuff/saving citizens in a private instance, would that somehow be more acceptable for you?

Given the hype this update got, I was expecting something more than the usual ‘follow the crowd and spam 1’ content. Literally anything else other than these basic kill and escort events would have been much more enjoyable.
Say, a mission where players have to deliver antidote to poisoned civilians while others protect them from waves of enemies or searching for civilians stuck deep in the rubble, which could involve some mild puzzle elements, or how about an event where players have to activate (and defend) 3 devices in different locations on the map at the same time to stop the miasma generation. These are just some ideas that came to my mind as I was writing this post, I’m sure ANet’s creative team would have been able to come up with much better stuff than this as well.
This event is just bland, boring and very disappointing for me. Not even mentioning that the amount of content is just extremely low: I was able to finish all the achievements in 5 runs (iirc), in 2 days. After I finished my first run I was asking the same thing.. Is this it?

I bought my car 10 years ago, so this year’s model better not have any new features over my 10 years old car. It is disrespectful and a slap in the face I tell you! And Windows 8 better not have more features than Windows 3.1 which I bought many many years ago. That would be disrespectful of Microsoft and a slap in the face!

I have given this analogy some thought and I was beginning to accept it when I realised what is wrong with it in my opinion: I am happy to buy a new Windows version, because when I bought the previous one it included cutting edge technology. They simply couldn’t have produced a better version, even if they wanted to, so with buying the new version I appreciate the development effort that was put into it. In the case of the mining picks however, there is no development or any effort involved in releasing a better one. It is simply an attempt to make players invest real money in the game continuously, just to be able to maintain their equal opportunities compared to others.

Also I completely agree that the additional income from sprockets is not very significant for now, but the existence of this pick – and the willingness of ANet to create such items – foreshadows even ‘better’ picks and other items, which will result in further increased extra income. (Additionally, in the case of sprockets we don’t even know of any other ways to source them aside from the home instance node after the Scarlett event is over, which means their price could increase significantly.)

Again, all complainers are making the following mistake: They think they need the new tool, when in fact they just want it.

As for a real world example: A child at the supermarket crying for candy. The child doesn’t need the candy, but merely wants it.

No. I still don’t think you understand the problem with the situation, even though it is pretty clear in my opinion. The new pickaxe vs ANY other pickaxe will yield additional sprockets, which translates to additional income. Players who buy the new pickaxe will get more income from the same effort than the others. This is the definition of pay to win.
It’s not that the complainers want the new tool, it’s that if they don’t get it they will not have equal chances in terms of earning gold to those that bought it. Also while the new pick can be bought using ingame gold, I think is is safe to assume that the average player doesn’t have 90g lying in their banks just to buy a gathering item for one of their characters, and so the great majority of the new pick owners will have paid real money for it.

What to invest in to maintain value

I see. So what you’re saying is that basically the inflation of prices won’t continue as long that it would be worth investing into items that have constant value, expecting to get more gold back from them by selling at the peak?

Also thinking about it you might actually be right about what I’m really asking, since my plan would be to resell the items at the end of the inflation period, when the prices are the highest.

DCM.3654

I want to maintain the value of my gold compared to something that is stable in value, such as gems or real money. Buying gems would be a significant loss if I wanted to resell, so that is not a very good option though.
So say if there was an item that had constant supply and demand (despite the world events) that I could buy now and sell later when the farming based events have ended or new gold sinks have been introduced, I could get the same amount of gems with the gold I get back, as when I invested it.

DCM.3654

Hi everyone,
Just as the thread title says, since I have some spare gold I was wondering what items would be suitable for investing in, not for profits, just to maintain the value of the money until this period of strong inflation ends. I was thinking about T6 crafting materials, but most of them don’t seem to have gone up in price as much as the gold to gem ratio, probably because the increased supply balances it out. Since I don’t really use the TP for earning money, I’m not sure what would be a good investment. Any ideas?

Binding 'dodge-jump' on programmable mouse?

DCM.3654

Can people please point me to where you need to dodge jump? Because I have ran everywhere in World 1 and never have used dodge jump at all.

Is it even necessary to use this?

No, you can get through all the current zones with well timed normal jumps. However with ArenaNet specifically advising players to learn dodge jumping some think the later zones might require it.
