In some ways yes, it can be used for attacking large groups because of the AA and #2/#4, but it doesn’t shine against single targets. P/P is definitely better against single targets/small groups, I’d even say better against large groups, even though it doesn’t hit multiple enemies at once. The point of the shortbow as a thief is to use #2 as a blast finisher for might, tagging enemies with the AA, having mobility with #5, and making poison fields with #4, also with a built in evade with #3. P/P is gonna serve you much better as pure ranged DPS, but shortbow brings much more utility. I’m no expert on thief so anyone can feel free to correct anything I’ve said, I’m just going on what I think.

Ok, I’m used to using CnD and backstab with d/d, and staff has no reliable stealth outside of utilities so that’s a downside to me, but I’ll keep trying with them both and find the superior
Would you recommend D/D or staff for fractals/raids?
Yeah I’m gonna do my best with it, I feel like it’s the class with the most reward for how you fight
Okay thanks guys, I’ll go with my gut and roll a thief, I’ll definitely get better at it and it’s the most fun to me
I’m getting a new computer that can actually run the game soon and I’m waiting until I do so to make my main, and I was wanting to main Thief ever since I got the game about 2 years ago. I have a ranger that I’ve been playing all this time but I always knew I wanted to main a thief. With the recent patches/nerfs/changes to the class and all the talk about it, I am questioning whether or not it’s a good choice. I’ve always liked the stealthy, damaging, and mobile classes in games and thief fits that, and I find it the most fun. But it has so many difficulties now that idk if I want to main another class. I’ve been playing PvP with it and I find it fun, but frustrating whenever I make a mistake or cannot kill an enemy (looking at the DHs) because we’re squishy and fragile. I’ve read that other classes bring more support than us while we bring little, and while our damage is good we don’t excel in many other areas. I know fun is the whole point and thief is the most fun to me but is it worth it?
Ok cool, I’ll check those out, and I do recognize that soundtrack from in the game.
Ok cool, thanks
Anyone know the name of the soundtrack that plays during the fight with the Shadow of the Dragon during the sylvari tutorial? Not the one from LS 2.

While using the turret skills while fighting Tequatl, sometimes the turrets don’t do anything even while you press skills. Sometimes getting out and back in works, but most of the time, for me, it doesn’t. I originally thought it was my laggy computer but many others encountered this problem too.
A dev said that in the next patch, or a future patch, all target-able areas on all world bosses will be crittable, as it was a bug that they’re fixing.
A dev recently said on a different post that he made sure that ALL target-able spots on ALL world bosses will be crittable after the next (or a future) patch, so that will make Tequatl possible again and will ease up the tensions on world bosses.
