Yeah, longbow and shortbow are pretty dry as far as gameplay goes. But: you can 1v1 a player and win with just a ranger bow. While warriors and thieves have better bows for zerg fights, they really cant pull that off as easily.

OMG OP for about the thousandth freaking time, the name ranger has nothing to do with using ranged weapons, it refers to roaming ranges of land, i.e. like a scout or a warden. Seriously, how can so many people not know this? It’s like an elementary level vocabulary word.
Regardless, Rangers are unparalleled archers and no other profession does as much DPS at range as the Ranger does. L2P.
You obviously have not faced a condi longbow/hammer warrior yet.
I would just like to know what skill makes the ranger have this big of a AOE with this long of a timer?
and a Warrior have this fast of a cooldown on shield block?
I don’t know about other Ranger’s in game but when I see other classes use a Bow you have to be like how can you have all these ow skill’s that the ranger who use’s nothing but a bow does not.
Longbow -
~Warrior- Enough skill to shoot 2 arrow’s at one b/c the ranger still has not mastered that ability.
~Warrior – Smart enough to set his arrows on fire…especially “His AOE Barrage equivalent”.
ShortBow-
~Thief- Shoot arrow that bounces around target’s and immobilze
~Thief – The ability to magically jump from place to place
~Thief – Fire a poison cloud (with a poison field)
~Thief – A Cluster of bombs
Ranger-
longbow
~ Shoot arrows at target
~ Barrage arrows and get laughed at
~ Rapid Fire…Amazing..just wish it was faster
~ Knockback .. Love it
Short bow
~Shoot arrow at target and pray they turn around so u can get bleeds
~ a 1 time poison pray and spray shot
~ a cripple that is taken care of by condi clear
~ a jump back Quickshot wish I could jump further but love it
~ a stun …Love it
Idk our axe’s bounce around but not a huge fan
There is only one Ranger pet I want or love to see…
~The Gorilla and for its special ability it jumps on the back of said target and pounds him while applying cripple from being on his back.
~Karaka that applies blind/cripple that forces a dodge roll, I would love the stomp ability for the special but that may be a lil’ OP.
So I thought I would test out the Hyena ability and summon a hyena to aid him in battle. Well it summoned him alright he fought valiantly along side my pet for about 3 sec then runs off and aggro’s 2 other mobs!?! I believe this is a bug or this is the worst pet in game but I’m hoping its a bug.

I would prefer “piercing arrow’s” be armor piercing so therefore I hit you as if u had no armor on at all not just pass through shots. I would also love to see a better 5 skill Barrage should be a utility not a ability. Where as Quick Draw should effect Weapon Swap as well, but they may be a lil’ OP but we need all the help we can get.

Make the Decay timer on Siege change color’s from blue to yellow to red when about to decay.
It’s not a Ranger problem. Ranged is significantly weaker then Melee in this game as it should be since ranged play has almost no risk compared to melee.
You can say that about any class, highest DPS:
Warrior: Axe /GS
Mesmer: S/S or S/F
Thief: D/D or S/P
Ele: D/D
Guardian: S/x /GS
Necro: D/xSo it’s not a “ranger” problem, all classes have highest DPS in melee. Stop taking things so personally, the grass isn’t greener on the other side.

I truthfully believe they should be activated or have the ability to be popped to use the field as we see fit, & ground targeting traps …..This is terrible…an asura kid could throw things farther.
I do not understand why the Poison Trap does not have a field as all the other traps minus spike, which causes 2 condition’s. Can someone please explain to me why Viper’s nest does not cause a poison field as all the other condition traps.

If they put Achievements back in Season 2 they should be World Based not account based.
Longbow #4 = greater range that if someone is using a longbow will cause greater damage and in pvp longbow is best and mostly used on defense or in flanking.. ex. standing on garrison bridge or watergate, sky nuking.

on Tier 1 sitting in Q for anything for 1-3 hrs during prime time is almost expected
good write up man! Lengthy but good stuff although you know scouting is a crappy job but it has to be done.
My Thoughts on World Population:
Let’s just face it World population as of right not is based on WvW; I know this thread is suppose to be about the World/Server not WvW but that is the main reason y most worlds have crazy high populations. So to control High population’s you should disable transfer’s to high population server’s and offer free transfer’s off.
What I would like to see
1. Fix the Queuing in WvW
2. A better AFK check system in WvW
3. Locked High population server’s with high Queue’s to stop transfer’s
4. Accounts Can not have toon’s on contesting WvW server’s in the same league
ex. ( BG, SOR, TC)..no account can have a toon on SOR & BG.
5. Locked Siege to Server…So if you are on SOR and in a 3way war on one server u can’t just give another server such as TC siege believe it or not this happened on Sunday.
6. Grace period for disconnection (1 min timer to allow login in case of network interruption)
7. Outnumbered should upgrade all guards to Silver & Claimer to legendary so that it is a little harder to take objective’s ( or boosted stat’s on Claimer).
8. Guesting member’s should automatically be moved to overflow on a server, so that server’s own population have precedence on that server.
9. Please fix keeps and tower’s that if upgraded to tier 2 or 3 the keep give’s perma-stability so that you can’t be pulled off (chain pulled by mesmer’s) or feared. I think these keeps are some of the smallest in History. Two norns could climb on each others shoulders and go right over if they wanted and take the keep.
10. Make a map to where after you leave your invulnerable area your skills are locked until back in that area.
11. Stability should make you immune to immobilize.
These are just something’s that I think would be greatly appreciated

Or make it grant benefit’s while standing in the trap , then activate once triggered.
I don’t know why they won’t let you perma stow your pet , in big fights all it does is insta – die. I also would love to see ranger’s be able to control there traps more so we could pop them ourselves instead of waiting for someone to set them off.

Everyone know’s warrior’s have the highest mobility, but I would just like to know why is it ALMOST every class can out run Ranger pets? Ranger pets are most possibly the slowest pets in the entire world irl or in game! Just give me a pet snapping turtle if pets are gonna be this slow when trying to catch people.
I would REALLY like to see a change in porcine F2 ability maybe like a “square off” ability where it gives the ranger stability and if target moves the pig charges. Just saying this b/c of right now the ability is pretty much useless b/c even your enemies can pick up what it digs up, sooo no one ever uses it.
One other slight change does anyone else find it utterly annoying that everyone can out run your pet! How can a warrior in full Heavy Armor out run anything.

I will second the motion for this awesome idea! Not to say you Anet dev’s and design artist aren’t doing an awesome job at it but there could always be something better out there….. ex. 2 handed Axe’s …. just sayin
Make a overflow for uplevels … or make uplevels only be able to play in omega golem’s in WvW that would be epic.

The keep is contested you should be able to portal in anyway! Use those 2 legs Anet gave you and run back.
guild siege is super siege for less supply

i’m not asking to lock every golem , I’m asking to lock Guild Golem’s
Can we please make a Omega Guild Golem that are locked to only members of that guild b/c I am tired of seeing them stolen by some random uplevel or person wanting the golem experience. At least twice a day I see GTG (Grand Theft Golem) around WvW. They could be doing anything from trying to take a camp, swimming in circle’s or just goin out to gather or kill ambient creature’s. It wouldn’t be so bad if it was there own golem but this is Golem that was in garrison or someone else just built and you know its just build b/c the person who built it is yelling at them to GET OUT!
Ballista are good for taking out other siege and they do alot of damage to them if u can hit them before they are built, What I would love to see is some Anet love to Mortar’s they are Tier 3 and hit with less damage than a cannon or a treb!
I 100% agree when server’kitten heavy population the server should be locked with only guesting as an option so partially this is ArenaNet’s Fault. If the server itself was hard capped there would have been no guild’s transferring to server’s to create extremely long Q’s.
Anet watch’s this game very closely at time’s when responding to in game exploit’s, player’s cheating or doing anything to hinder gameplay. i am actually surprised they have not started to step in on people transferring to overpopulated server’s.
For Rangers
-I would like to see a better explanation on “All arrows pierce target” its vague and leaves alot to be assumed (such as armor piercing)
-The ability to use rifle’s
– Fix Sic’em to revel stealth for the full 10 second’s or have less of a cooldown then 40seconds
-Be able to Perma-Stow your pet, b/c the ai on them is bad enough on certain builds they die immediately or make it so on pet death you gain increase attack speed like sparki does when slick die’s 1st in TA aether-pirate’s path.
- Have the ability to change the arrows (barbed, posion tipped, armor piercing)

As a ranger I am wondering would Muddy terrain be better used as a trap instead of something (as a Norn) you just pour out?
