What gathering tools have fastest animation?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Daedalus.4193

Take it one step further, at least for permanent tools.

As soon as you see the xp pop for harvest and/or the material pop above the minimap you can move and break the animation and harvest next piece for Sickles at least, mining and logging can do it after third tick of xp/mats. No need to wait for bar or animation to finish.

BL chest: bring back the home instance node.

See under Rare Drops – and there is a supply being crated, people are just using them for their own home instances instead of selling them, plus with demand being higher the price goes up. This is entirely player driven and does not really affect main economy as such because nothing you get from the nodes are exclusive – everything is available pretty easily in open world

NO, not true.

When you log in during an episode’s run you unlock it for free and can play it whenever you want (for LS3 though, you must have Heart of Thorns to play it, but it still gets unlocked to account even if you don’t own HoT, so you can later buy HoT and then still have free access to LS3) – you can play unlocked episodes in any order you choose and apart from story and lorewise no episode will require you to have played a previous one

If you don’t log in during an episodes 2-3 month long run you lose out on the free access and have to buy it via gemstore.

Note you can play the story mode for information and lore by joining in on another player’s run but you won’t get rewards or achievements.

What do gem prices depend on ?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Daedalus.4193

Daedalus.4193

Gem price inflation/deflation is entirely player driven. Gems are created by us, I think it is, when we purchase gems with money, and are destroyed/taken out of circulation when we convert ingame gold to gems.

Price in ingame gold for 100 gems depends on the ratio between creation/destruction of gems – think John Smith orignally mentioned something like this being the mechanic.

Theres a finite amount of gems ingame at any one time and their price depends on supply.

Hope I got it right enough to make sense.

Can we please have stacking sigils in LS?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Daedalus.4193

From experience I’ve noticed this, and the failure of Virtue of Justice as well, to be happening mainly in story instances.

In a broad sense it seems to me that for a kill to count for reneweal or stacking it has to be able to provide XP when killed.

Q about retiring skins from BL Weapon Vendor

in Black Lion Trading Co

Posted by: Daedalus.4193

Daedalus.4193

As stated in patch notes several skin sets are being retired, including the Dragon’s Jade set.

Is is only the option to get them via the BL tickets from BL Chests that is being removed or will the option to get them via the Dragon’s Jade Claim Tickets (from Dragon Chests generated during Dragon Bash) also disappear?

So- what's "Account Bound on Acquire"?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Daedalus.4193

Daedalus.4193

Well “Account bound” means basically that the item is locked to your account and can’t be traded or put into a guild bank but can freely be moved around to various characters on that account. Ascended Weapons for example. This one usually covered some items from store and such that are specifically created by/for you.

“Account bound on aquire” usually are stuff like some achievement rewards and items from champion bags and such that are created in the game world, but not especially for you, you just happen to be the one opening the bag for instance and so the items within can become account bound on spawning – these are also locked to your account and can’t be traded or stored in guild banks but can also be freely moved between characters on that account.

Basically it’s two slightly different origins but exactly the same outcome.

Renewed Justice Bug

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: Daedalus.4193

Daedalus.4193

Problem reported ingame as well

I’ve noticed now during the story instaces in Dry Top (Ch1 & 2)that the Guardian Minor Trait Renewed Justice (Virtue of Justice refreshes itself upon killing a foe) doesn’t work inside the story instances.

Neither on first or consequtive attempts for me. I pop it…murder like crazy and ten secs later 5 mobs lie dead and I’m still looking at a 12 or so second cooldown.

Out in the open world it works fine in all areas of dry top and regardless if its active target I kill or another nearby with aoe/cleave damage this trait makes Virtue of Justice renew itself.

As soon as I enter a story instance it does bugger all.

Guild Alliances on Upcoming Patch

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Daedalus.4193

Daedalus.4193

This will actually also have a pretty noticable economic impact as the supply of Mini Wurms, Teqs and other assorted special loot from them will decrease a lot (Teq) or fairly dramatically (wurm).

Forcing guilds to do stuff to get the bosses when they can play them is only viable if its cheap and easy to build once you reach the required stage…

if it takes a week to do enough consumables to get one days worth of runs out of it it for groups like TxS guilds (that don’t run missions because all the people in them do them with their other guilds and you try and persuaded a lot of people to run content without any personal rewards or chance of goodies on a weekly basis), just feels almost like a direct attack on our system, like that Anet really don’t like that we can get this level of organisation and kill percentage relaibly and consistently…almost I say…almost.

Because its not like we show and hey presto it’s dead…it takes 15-30 minutes of prep time every single kill to get things right. And thats with being able to relatively easily get our people on the same map…and joining all in one guild won’t work with 4 guilds worth of people to account for in total – or would lead to a massive swingdoor of spending hours just kicking/inviting people every day to get them in…This part really doesn’t feel thought out along with the bosstimer schedule.

Guild Alliances on Upcoming Patch

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Daedalus.4193

Daedalus.4193

As far as the timetable goes the new system will put most people in some trouble…in EU its pretty standard to have dinner/faimly time from around 5-7pm GMT+2 – so that means with a normal working life I might, might get to do karka and perhaps even Teq as well only on selected weekends if I’m lucky, as the vast majority of people aren’t able to play GW2 at 2AM or around 4PM.

The idea behind the system is great yes, and it can have the effect they want…but unless they planned for it and the prices are cheap for triggering it they will pretty much Mess up the game for several thousand people and at the same time reduce the success rate on these events, leading to frustration and more quitting,

We’d really appriciate some acknowledgement or indeed information that some care has been taking for the non-casuals here by Anet

Thus we are hit extra hard by this stuff since we not only are reduced to certain times, we are even forced to run content we do not neccesarily want or have time for to get these events to happen at times we can play them.

Ascended rings

Daedalus.4193

One snarky comments and then I’ll get right onto helpful. – They are called UNIQUE – kinda of a big hint right there…

But afaik if you Infuse one of them in the MF (check wiki) you should be able to wear two rings with the same name, since by infusing one of them you’ve changed it.

Question on Runes

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Daedalus.4193

Daedalus.4193

One Rune of the Flame Legion total buff: 25 power
Two Runes of the Flame Legion total buff: 25 Power + 15% Burning Duration
Three Runes of the Flame Legion total buff: 25 Power + 15% Burning Duration + 50 Power

See below

Superior Rune of the Flame Legion

(1): +25 Power
(2): +15% Burning duration
(3): +50 Power
(4): 5% chance to cause Burning for 1 second when hit. (cooldown: 5s)
(5): +90 Power
(6): +5% damage against Burning targets.

Hope that helps…its not cumulative but adds additional single buff each time you add another rune of the same set (some stats appear twice on some runes sets and so do get added) – but basically you get each line in the set bonus once.

try using the overlay in the meantime, it is pure awesomesauce – but on my system (Win7 64bit IE 11 both fully updated) both EU and US worlds show perfectly normal when mousing over.

Try opening the page in another web browser as well, more info always help when troubleshooting

Skip several Living Stories to fix bugs

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Daedalus.4193

Daedalus.4193

And they are trying with everything they ahve to avoid Blanket Nerfs or unintended side effects when they can so every bug reported has to be:

reproduced
cause determined
fix found
QA tested and certified
Localised for game versions and any text and voice changes made
signed off by devs before included in patch and localised for notes as well if major enough.

This all takes a fair bit of time and doesn’t really take inot account the pretty decent amount of time it can take to actually fix a problem as a game of GW2 size can have all sorts of unforseen interactions if fixes aren’t careful enough.

Bugs are getting fixed by the bug fix team(s) – but it takes time, and we get bugs fixed in every single patch along with class balance changes and game content added – biweekly so Anet is scoring pretty high on this…

And a PTR would ruin the surprises included in the patch itself and I can see why they made the choice to not use this system. – somtimes yes it sucks but I don’t mind the fast fixes that come soon after to deal with it for the joy of experiencing stuff like this without every source of info being flooded with every little detail of it and noone doing much of it Live cause they all tried it on PTS.

I’m guessing it might be an account wide Karma bonus you’ve gotten from your Achievement points Chests rewards.

Either that or Severwide WvsWvsW bonus – but I’m leaning more towards it being the Achievement points thing.

How am I duping it? – I think I’ve followed guides to the correct way, and don’t use any porting/jumping stuff…only two palces I can see that might be it are the first wall jump-around and breach jump through…but afaik that is the proper way to proceed?

Any hints at what it is I’m messing it up with is greatly appriciated…still no luck in getting this achievement…will have to try another character as well just to make sure.

jump around the first wall after getting bomb. drop down on broken wall, leap across and jump through gap. Then run up the ledge, jump over to nests, follow them up and turn left up and around – jump to free standing rock…after that jump across to the big platform and then jump again and again and again till you can jump across to the ledge by the east wall…follow that up to the stairs and keep going up till the path turns to a steep stair heading out over the open area – jump down on cross road bridge and turn left – place boom by visible chest and back away….boom!

did that with the bomb, and without the bomb – no unlock – only thing I used was heals and Air#4 speed boost from staff – no teleports, jump skills or eggs or anything

I couldn’t care less about the loot but I want that darned unlock – so am I missing something or is it bugging?
