S/P and P/P 30/30/0/10/0

30 DA for 5.5s Immob on 50% or less
30 CS for 20% dmg on 50% or less

Stacking Vuln with crits. I get you down to 50% and you are completely screwed. Anyone who uses a stunbreak to dodge the Immob gets hit with 2-3 more. PW and they’re dead. Hitting about 8-10k per PW.

S/X Builds are DONE. NO MORE S/X BUILDS. SWORD IS COMPLETELY USELESS

Is it? I’m still using it. Feels fine. No issues, actually. A 1/4 cast time that allows me to move while I cast it doesn’t really affect me that much. In fact, the Buff to S/P #3 is pretty nice. I like it. I feel like I can take traits that aren’t JUST INITIATIVE in order to use Black Powder once in a while.

Go play Warrior and stop whining if you can’t survive out there anymore.

oooo so its a class only for the biggest of trolls with no life sweet so like i said the whole class got nerved because of a couple skilled players ! thats not right ! …… and before all the thief hate came because the perm stealth !!!!!!

Dude, your job as a thief is to watch and down the weakest foe then get away.

If you keep fighting against 123123123 enemies then it’s your problem.

Agree. If you are trying to play a Thief as a front line damage soaking and dealing Warrior…You’re doing it wrong. A lot of people leave Thief to go play Warrior, because they enjoy the playstyle of up in your face and swinging. That’s alright, that’s not a problem with Thief.

I enjoy engaging, making people think I’m easy prey, and shadowstepping/pulling them into advantageous fights with my Teammates. Or in big zergs, looking for the ele who’s standing still casting Firestorm, and dropping on him like a bag of bricks. See the ele, drop in, hit him hard, get him either dead or almost dead. Either way, he runs, or he dies, and is out of the fight for a while. Then shadowstep back out to the relative safety of your side of the zerg.

That’s why I never Steal into a fight. Plus, I’m traited with Mug, so it’s a heal too. Use Steal halfway through a fight, use Shadowsteps to get into a fight. Already have a way out, and an extra heal. Sexy.

I really only enjoy Thief. Managing Initiative, the ability to shadowstep around, stealth, big crits. I really enjoy this play style. I’ve made a few alts, but none of them have interested me. I’m a Thief, always will be. I can’t wait to see what the next patch brings that I have to adapt to.

I wish all thieves were a bit more like you.

The Problem with Thief Players

I mean, they did reverse the Trickster / Flanking Strikes change.

You can’t say they changed nothing at all when they actually did.

They also rolled back some of the Vigor duration nerf. The original drop was 50% to both BT and VR.

Yeah. When there’s a huge balance push, as is for every single class in this game, they’re not going to do the exact opposite like everyone on here seemed to want. That’s just silly to expect. They fixed two of the things I thought were really big mistakes, these two changes.

They also gave us 3-4 more useless traits that give initiative in a super slow drip now, so I hope we get some trait overhaul love in the future. But I’m not worried about us post patch.

trust me i know . but that does not solve the knock down prob when there r several people spamming it u will be dead and i don’t think shadow shot has an aoe blind? but i could be wrong . and that will just throw u in the fight to block one move . idk this is the only nerf i really have a prob with i can live with the perma stealth being messed up .and maybe the vigor nerf … but the vigor nerf and infiltrate strike nerf together is a bit much !

When you get hit by multiple CC’s by multiple people all focusing you, you will die. That’s how this game works. Guardians will die, Warriors will die. Anyone will die.

As Thieves, we have more ways to avoid getting stuck in such a horrible position in the first place. That’s the entire point of our class.

Maybe I’m crazy, but it’s not the Thief build and the Thief skills and the ‘nerfs’ that make me not want to play a Thief anymore, it’s this terrible Thief community. Holy crap guys, can’t we like, do something productive? I still destroy in WvW, I have 0 problems in PvE (I’m the one that’s always reviving all the dead teammates in Dungeons and Fractals). I mean…

You’re all kidding right? This is some kind of joke I missed because I left for a few months? Please?

Got a yellow ‘Loot Bag’. Opened up to get one yellow, worth about 30s on the AH. was at least hoping for Empyreal Fragments since it’s a jumping puzzle

Perma Stealth Needs To Go

they need to add a detect skill maybe a skill that only detects for each class with varying quirks on range and distance on how it works. not to mention the way skills lock when your in battle if you see the thief you can prepare to fight him (Equip detect skill) if he gets to you before you see him then yea. your locked in combat. I have seen a whole zerg try to chase down one thief stealth / teleport only way a thief will really die if he/she is good is if they let you them kill them.

Should they add other skills that are a complete hard counter to every other build that can kill you too?

I find it pretty interesting so far. Without having to take the ini traits, I’m able to play around with some ideas I haven’t really been able to before. I feel like I’m in a great place with S/P, able to keep AoE Blind up permanently throughout a fight. With 20 points in Acro, and 30 in Crit, I’ve got another 20 points that I’ve been moving around to different places. Thinking I may try out 1500 range on Steal? Maybe with Mug?

Change hard to catch to break stun and refill endurance so it might be close to on par with mirror of anguish(new 60s CD), reapers defense(new 60s CD), or tempest defense (new 25s CD).

I can agree with this. I would slot that in a heartbeat.

Indeed, the pistolwhip feels great again. But it’s a bit sad that S/P got so much collateral damage from the nerfs to S/D, i realy don’t like the casttime on infiltrator return :/

The cast time isn’t that big of a deal. If it rooted you? Sure. But it doesn’t. I roll with 2 stun breaks on my S/D or S/P anyway. You just have to learn to not wait until the last possible second to get out of a fire AoE. Cast it a quarter second earlier. Tada.
