Thoughts on Heavy Armor, Hammer?

I think we’re fine with medium armor. Survivability, imo, isn’t one of our problems at all, in fact quite the opposite.

The hammer, I personally wouldn’t use it, but I would approve of its addition to our arsenal. Out of interest, which kit would you use with a hammer?

Flamethrower Build Questions.

I run flamethrower for PVE and PVP, and use similar stats for both.

Precision + traits (and now sigils) that proc conditions (10 hits over 2 seconds, youre bound to get loads of crits!

Toughness is important, and can be buffed up with juggernaught (obviously a necessary trait for this build)

try to keep both prec + toughness above 1800 if you can (1600 toughness + juggernaught works)

The rest I split evenly between power and condition damage for PVE, and place it all into condition damage for PVP.

I don’t worry too much about vitality, because we have plenty of nice knockbacks and blinds, plus enough condition removal with elixirs.

As for your main weapon, you can make it work with any combination, but I like pistol+shield. It gives me all 4 damaging conditions at once on a very high uptime, and an extra knockback + stun.

This is all my opinion and experiences of course, no doubt there are other good ways to use flamethrower.

Final tip, get 10 points in explosives for 100 power, but also for the 33% burn proc on crits. I can’t tell you how much burn this gives you, which is fitting for a flamethrower afterall!

Examples please, I’m sure nerfing static discharge and buffing individual toolbelt skills would make more choices viable.

to list a few of the more obvious ones:

Empowering Adrenaline – gain stack of might whenever you are hit and below 50% endurance

This would depend on the duration of the might, and ofcourse the possiblity of a cooldown. However based on how you have described it, it would either become a must-have ability (for the huge stacks of might) or a waste of space ability (if the duration was lower than 5s) rather than an ability that seems fine to me as it is.

Precise Sights – increases accuracy of poison dart volley

This needs to be addressed as a bug (in my opinion). Having this as a trait would make it a must have for any build involving pistols, just to get it to work as it should. (assuming it kept its original effect aswell)

Mortar can be picked up and used as bazooka

even if the Bazooka was a tone down version of the mortar (which would essentially make it useless anyway) this would go against the idea of the mortar being a portable (minor) siege kit. I agree the mortar needs a buff, but not like this.

I will only post more if you wish, because I dont want to seem like a flamer or derail your thread any more. I only specified because you asked

end game?

if I may share an observation…

It seems that those who say that there is nothing to do, have tunnel-visioned their play experience, and once they master their aspect, or simply tire from it, they are off to the forums to complain about lack of content.

An example would be a dungeon raider who completes all dungeons and masters fractals until he is tired of it, and then asks for more dungeons or better fractals.

Or a pvp player who tires of sub-avarage players in hotjoin and is an established pro in tournaments, and is asking for ladders (a fair request, btw)

I don’t want to flame anyones opinion here, just offer one of my own…

I believe that the one who gets the biggest chunk of the enjoyment pie, is the humble player who tries everything, and aims to conquer everything. When he has run a fractal and wants to not grind anymore, he goes to the mists and plays some pvp.

mr OP, you havent wasted any money. You must drop the endgame philosophy (as I am not the first to point out) and try to get the biggest chunk of the pie that you can! If you do, you will have a blast!

happy hollidays!

mr OP, I must respectfully disagree with almost the entirety of this list.

Much of what you said would destroy certain traits/abilities, while making others essential gets, which would reduce the number of viable builds drastically.

personally, I would be content with weapon stats on kits, and fixing flamethrower and dart volley constantly missing, along with other similar bugfixes.

let us hope they do not nerf catapults haha.

a point to bring up, is that if they made cogs grindable, nobody would spend gems to get the toys because they would grind them all in no time at all. Anet gotta eat too!

You may agree or disagree with this decision, but considering it’s a business afterall, it’s a sound decision from their perspective.

Tixx was designed to be completed once per day, you can do it very fast & easily and you get two nice miniatures if you complete it five times. I don’t understand why you people want to grind.

the yellow bars above health is endurance, it goes down when you dodge and refills slowly, if its empty you cant dodge.

I know you probably already know this, but always keep an eye on that.

Another thing, is most abilities that claim to remove conditions remove them one at a time. I do not know if thats the case for healing spring or your signet, but I’m presuming so.

65 hits from bleed isn’t unusual either, a higher health pool might help with that, although removing it is always the best way to go if you can. Also bear in mind that if its removed, it can sometimes be re-applied straight away if they are paying attention to your buff bar (as any decent condition spec player should be doing).

Hope this helps some.

Did you have enough endurance to dodge? did you completely remove the conditions? were you rooted?

3 stacks per attack + 3 attacks = 9 stacks, which will hit 63 times over 7 seconds, no doubt being reapplied in that time.

You can’t dodge a condition that is already active, and if you use condition removal you might not remove the bleed, but another condition instead.

I’m not sure how the ranger signet works, whether your pet pulls all conditions off you to itself or only allies, but what I’ve told you so far is facts.

Don’t get angry at people who are trying to help you bro.

Can we remove downstate from pvp?

Daltonymous.7259

looking at a glance, it seems that many of the people who don’t like downed state are getting themselves into situations where they are fighting alone against 2 or more enemies, or because the enemy has some teammates arrive to… help?

isn’t that the point of team play? doesnt down state reinforce that?

you can call it zerg gameplay or teamplay, it is what it is, and its fine imo.
