Leaving a map - Map Bonuses

If I leave a map while I’m partway through the map bonus rewards track, does the track reset, or is it cumulative for the entire week? I’ve looked on the wiki and it doesn’t specifically state one way or the other.

No Baubles Received

In the SAB, when activating a dig spot or opening a chest, I receive 0 baubles, despite the counter appearing above my character’s head indicating the number of baubles.

In chat there is no indication of baubles received (ie: You receive 58 baubles), and there is no change in the number of baubles in my inventory. Additionally, no icons appear at the right of the screen indicating number of baubles given.

Dig spots remain “used” in subsequent runs through the zone despite having given nothing.

I’ve noticed this happening when I have had 946, 742, 150 baubles, all at different times. It appears to reset if i relog or change characters, but I don’t notice it during the level unless I pay close attention (though that might happen a lot more often now). Not sure as to the amount of baubles lost in total…

Am I missing a bauble cap? I still receive rewards at the end of levels.

EDIT: I double checked and turns out I forgot about the 750 limit. The problem at 150 was me using some items that use up baubles, 2 bonehead moments at the same time.

There is an unreachable Orichalcum node in the Harrowed Sea, see screenshots for location. If anybody has a route to get to it, feel free to share.

Frostreach Back Door

So I’ve just recently discovered a gate (that isn’t really a gate) in the Frostreach area of EotM. Anybody know if this was a gate that could be broken down at one point? If not, then I guess it’s just an interesting tidbit.

Order of Whispers in Hoelbrak

So I’m a little behind here… (about 2 years) but I’ve finally managed to find a member of the Order of Whispers in Hoelbrak. Turns out there is an undercover agent spying on the movement of the nearby Sons of Svanir. The Whisper’s member is Leif Oesklyn, and is disguised as a Norn child. Leif is located just where the cave Shelter rock ends between the Raven shrine and the Bear shrine.

If you talk to him while a whispers member he reveals that he’s been spying on the Sons of Svanir, and that hes glad to see a friendly face after months of undercover work. This would suggest that he is the only member of the Order of Whispers in Hoelbrak.

Edit: There’s another member at the back of the Snow Leopard’s lodge named Nika Morkvist. She gives unique dialogue to thieves and Whispers members. As well, there’s one in the tunnel from Snow Leopard’s Lodge to the Svanir cave named Tarkad.

I’m occasionally having this issue, but I thought that it was something to do with the servers themselves as my computer functions perfectly fine doing other things.

When I went into my guild’s history I found the below screenshot… As you can see the game states that 4 members have logged in, on the day: Tuesday October 7th in the year 2087… Not only has that not nearly happened yet, but the number of years isn’t even right. From 2014-2087 should be 73 years instead. It could be possible that other recorded times are off as well.

I feel as though the History logs for my guild are now unreliable, and even though it’s a very small guild I want to be able to keep track of the number of events that the guild completes. Maybe some specific events do not earn influence as a result, or perhaps it only counts every other event for influence gain…? I would rather not go around checking the influence gain after every even that is done in a day either.

Necromancer Minions Became Brain Dead

I’ve noticed that since the feature pack came out my minions have been particularly stupid and clumsy as of late. Normally this wouldn’t be that much of a problem but it is happening in sPvP as well.

If I enter combat with the [Dark Path] skill and the character that I enter combat with is more than 200 away, then my minions will never move from their positions unless they can already attack the enemy. The minions will stay in place unless I am entirely out of combat or I’ve gone so far away that they are passed their “rush at you as fast as possible in order to catch up” stage. I’ve had to summon my minions later in combat in order to stop this from happening.

Another thing is that the minions are starting to get stuck on hills. I understand that some hills are not traversable, but an instance that they’ve gotten stuck was on the map Legacy of the Foefire. I was running from the center Graveyard to the Quarry and my minions got stuck on the lip up to the objective and sat there (aside from the ranged Bone Fiend who fired from the edge of the lip) as I fought the enemy.

*This is not the only instance that it has happened, and I would be able to repeat it reliably if asked to do so. *

I can successfully make my minions attack by using a minion skill that can hit the target or by attacking the enemy with daggers or by trying to hit them with my axe when they are too far away for me to hit. Ranged weapons seem to make it so that if a minion is about 300 radius away, it will do nothing and just keep following me as if I am out of combat. This happens very often with Bone Minions and especially with Jagged Horrors as I see them running around me when the enemy is even immobilized (hence they were not trying to cut them off).

It’s a bit frustrating to see one or 4 of my melee minions not able to do anything because their AI has become shot. In PvE I find that my Jagged horrors do nothing most of the time if I have 3 or more.

Does anyone else have this problem? Or maybe my graphics are lagging on and off and they’re actually doing something but I cant see damage done, the movement of their bodies or their attack animations?

Problems and Portals and Flame Rams, oh my!

Just a few things that I’ve come across in my travels, I searched up these three and nothing came up, so I decided to make a single post about them.

Mesmer portal

There is no identifiable distance or range indicator to let us know how far it reaches… The out of range indicator (the red bar at the bottom of the ability icon) does not appear, and if you step outside of the range of your ability, you have just wasted your entire ability slot cooldown on something uselesss.

I’ve heard that the effective range is about the range of your minimap when it’s fully zoomed in, however i have come across instances when this is not the case as I’ve stepped farther than the edges of the map. As an example: in the first three attached images, you’ll see the edge of the map does not pass the Black Crocus plant in the first image, yet I am able to pass the plant and activate the portal with functionality. However, in the next three images, you will see that I have gone a little farther, and that there is no red bar indicating that I am out of range from my starting portal, as well as nothing in the tooltip to indicate range. yet when I activate it I am unable to step through my portal even though both appear to be activated.

Flame Ram

In WvW I’ve used quite a few rams, however recently they have been acting up…
in the final two screen shots you see two almost identical scenarios: the ram is pulled back as it’s about to strike and the ram is sitting stationary, doing nothing… The reason why this is a problem is because I activated these one right after the other, and you’ll notice that there is a cooldown on BOTH

When activating the Flame Ram, occasionally you are able to activate it too early, still instilling a cooldown but achieving zero attack damage and no ram action. I’ve seen this happen a great many times and we end up doing half the damage that we’re supposed to do to the door because over zealous ram users are button mashing 1 or mass clicking the icon (or both). This, in turn doubles our tower/keep/castle attack time and provides a significant advantage to the defenders if the ram users don’t know what’s happening. Not only that, but I have activated it when the timer was 0.0 and just when it had disappeared and both times it still went into this extra “skill still recharging, but I’ll give you extra cooldown” mode. I’ve had to wait an extra moment just to be sure that the ram works, however this still reduces ram effectiveness as the rams are being used every 5.X seconds instead of 5.0 after their cooldown comes off. It’s still better than 50% effectiveness at 10.0 seconds of cooldown, but this should not happen.
