I thought this would be a quality troll thread.
I can’t give you a lengthy reply right now (on a break at work), but just for the sake of pointing it out, your English is better than that of most native English speakers. There’s no need to apologise for well written and easy to understand posts. Thumbs up to you for being so fluent, even if you do make an odd mistake here and there.

@Fateless: your “if” sentence has no meaning … no endurance end no stun breaks = death, but not only against a thief.
however a solution could be make the stun scale with haste; 0.5 sec normal -> 0.25 sec with haste.
Double speed swinging your sword and double speed in recovering from the stun.

It’s like you guys have never played a pvp based game before (besides WoW you gear whoring nerds)
Take a look at HoN, LoL, DoTa 2 they are sole PvP games. Every few months the meta changes, due to what heroes have been changed, and the balance of the game as a whole. The way to win in these games is to find a counter to the meta, which in turn creates a new meta or join the other guys and use the same meta. meta meta meta, learn that word it’ll make life easier.
Granted this game is VERY new so the meta at the moment is choose the easiest class to play and play it well. Guarantee next trend will be stacking condition damage to mitigate those guardian teams

Only way pistolwhip + haste is viable is if they have basilisk, and devourer venom on as well. which lets you get 2 guaranteed pw’s off (unless they have condition removal)
If we get rid of stealth finishing we need to bring in stuns/daze/confusion to affect you on downed state

If your getting dps’d down by the mesmers illusions they have specced for the phantasms/illusions to do the damage. Switch to short bow, kill the kittens, then switch back to single target and burst the mesmer.
If you still die, you are straight up bad.
The only thing they need to change about mesmers is the illusions till being alive once the mesmer is downed
The only thief build that does that is the back stab build, which you dont even use haste for, the only thief build that needs haste is the pistol whip build, which doesnt use stealth. EVERY build in this game is counterable, if you can’t get away from a glass cannon, it means you your self are either a glass cannon (no condtion removals, no hp, no toughness) or you are just plain bad and have 0 reaction time.
As for warriors, if you dodge a 100blades while they have haste they will actually do LESS damage then if they didnt haste on, because the skill runs out quicker, meaning you dodge more damage.

Kyhlo is bugged a bit, I have gotten stuck inside the trebuchet after repairing it, (if you stand on the treb when you repair it you can get stuck inside) and I can’t get out until its dead haha.
The only thing this game needs is for elementalists to get a huge buff, either to damage or the earth spec and for the thief backstab build to be more of an opener then one hit wonder build.
other then that every class is working as intended.
P.S GUARDIANS ARE NOT OP, YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE ABLE TO KILL A GUARDIAN WHO IS SPECCED FOR TANKING IN A 1V1 kitten kittenkitten EVERYWHERE

If haste was taken away, glass cannon builds would literally do half of the dps they do already, which is basically 1 burst combo every 1-2 minutes.
Learn to dodge, spec for more hp / tuff or live with the fact that pvp games have high risk / high reward dps builds
Well, I didn’t want to believe all the “thief is op” posts, but I saw something that is starting to make me believe that they are. Was playing with my condition necro stacking conditions etc. and suddenly an asura thief comes up behind me and I get shot down to downed state and killed in about 2-3 seconds. I can usually hold my own against most classes, provided it’s not 2v1 or something like that and seeing this I was left staring at the screen in awe.
Now thats kitten up
low risk / high reward build. even though it takes a bit more skill to land it directly from behind, it’s still op as kitten

Haste lasts for 4 seconds (unless you spec for boon duration) and it usually has a huge cooldown.
It’s working as intended and benefits all classes.
It’s like saying, aw kitten people can heal when they are almost dead, better get rid of it because I cant kill people with their heal up.
I run the pistolwhip build, it’s not op at all. Yes it does a tonne of damage in a few seconds (I have haste > steal > pistol whip macroed, so its basically instant) But it’s so easy to counter. Maybe a week or so ago, no body really knew about the build, so nobody bothered speccing to counter it (by speccing I mean 1 trait or 1 skill that lets you escape immobilise) It used to work so that you could just run around the map, using the combo every minute, because everyone specced for dps, with under 20k hp. Now it’s kind of a dps support build, you basically sit on the out side of a fight and either pick a squishy to use your full combo, or use it on a player who is not getting whittled down fast enough.
It takes as much “effort” (in terms of cooldowns) to pull off a good pistol whip (I only ever have to use 2 pistolwhips, when its says ERHMAHGERD 26 HITS??!!11 it’s because one pistol whip hits 9 times.) and once thats done. We are pretty much useless, unless we have another team mate with us.
It’s annoying as hell to get bursted down that fast, but the build is so risky, it’s hardly worth it
Only way stealth wouldnt break wouldbe if you used cloak and dagger on someone while you were stealthed :/

As far as I know the respawn is always at 0, 20 and 40 seconds. (Like 5:00, 5:20, 5:40, 6:00, 6:20 etc.)
So when you know that, learn when to stomp when finishing and when to interrupt stomps when downed to maximise / minimise the respawn time.

What? Your respawn depends on the time. There is a respawn every 20 seconds, this has nothing to do with first/second/third/etc. kill.

Im pretty suer it slows intiative regen, they wouldnt miss something like that
guardians and mesmers are just a hard counter to single target burst thieves. I run a crit damage specced shortbow thief and I have no real problem with fighting mesmers due to my aoe, guardians still take a while to whittle down, so either my team comes or his. Guardians are countered by conditions (think necros, eles, condition thieves). I like to think i’m more of a support thief, but I get rampage every kitten game because my #2 skill hits 4-6k crits erryday
On a serious note,
Glass cannon warrior is fun when you solo against un-coordinated noobs, because you can plow through everyone without getting targeted. But if you use it against a team with half a brain, they will just cc and dodge all your kitten and take you out first

Ok, seeming as there are literally no constructive threads in this sub-forum (And I mean 0, zilch, nada, none, nothing!) I have decided to take this burden upon my self and create the thread that will be an encylopedia for new teams wanting to find new stratergies and discuss/criticize them.
I am by no means a pro stratergist, so I wont be inputting alot my self, but I will edit this thread with some good ones I find. I am going to organise strat by map. I will also post ones I find from other websites and put a reference after the strat.

FOREST OF NIFHEL:
The 4 – 1 split: This is the most common strat used in FoN, and comes into play straight from the get go. The main idea is to have 4 of your team head to the futherest point (Henge for Red, Mine for Blue) Then have one player head to the closest point.
The main idea is for your 4 man team to take the other sides buff first (chieftain and svanir) while the one man army takes the point and the other buff (or just sacrifice himself to get the last hit on the buff if its getting zerged). Then all 5 should take the keep and disperse according to which point needs help.
The Take Half the map before anyone notices: In this strat you have 1 player go straight to the closest point, 2 players to rush for the keep and another two players run for the buff. Everyone should have taken it all at around the same time, this should boost you to a good 50 points in the first couple of minutes, as long as you keep hold of both points. After everything is taken you should have 2 players defending each point and 1 player keeping pressure on the other teams close point. Regrouping where ever majority of the opposing team is attacking.
LEGACY OF THE FOEFIRE:
The 4 – 1 split, again!: In this variation of the split we have 4 of the team run to the futherest point again to take it as quick as possible. We then have one person run straight for the middle point. Once both points are taken, we have one person from the group of 4 (preferably a necro, a mesmer or a thief with thieves guild) run straight for the lord, the other 3 joining the lone guy in the middle, to regroup then take their closest point. The reason I go for the middle map instead of my close point is because to the other team, the middle point is more important, sending the bulk of their team to the middle instead of defending their lord. This is a riskier strat, so if the guy backdooring the lord gets compromised, split the team and take all points. You should always be making sure that they HAVE to be somewhere, either trying to take mid or defending the lord. If you happen to take the lord (which is definatley possible) then you can focus on taking all points and defending your own lord. If they decided to go for your lord for revenge only send 2 people to defend, the casters and soldiers are basically extra players anyway.
RUSH LORD ZERG TIME LETS GO: This is the most riskiest strat, and I would not reccomend it to anyone running a tanky/support team. This is for dps teams only.
The main idea is to literally run your whole team from the 0:00 mark straight for the other teams lord, take the gate, take the lord. Have 2 people focus completely on the lord (preferably a couple of glasscannons) while the other 3 burst down the npcs. You should take the lord in under 2 minutes, or its a complete waste of time and the game is lost.
Once the lord is taken (assuming no one came to defend it) send 2 for your teams close point and 3 for the far point (far point will be closer coming from their base.)
BATTLE OF KYLHO:
This is my favourite map out of them all, however I only have one real strat for this map, and its generally for Hot Joins not tourney games.
CIRCLE WORK: I start with mansion if I’m blue, windmill if I’m red. Once I take that point I make a beeline straight for the opposing trebuchet. If there is someone already using the treb, I burst him down with all my cool downs ASAP. Being it’ll the teams first respawn, his respawn time will be around 20 seconds, this is plenty of time to smash the trebuchet. Once the treb is down, I rush straight for the windmill/mansion (which ever one was futherest away from your base), now you should have 2 points (maybe three if your other team has clock) and they will have no treb. as soon as their treb comes back up, rinse and repeat.
RAID ON THE CAPRICORN:
Stupid map, rush ruins, hold ruins, win.

Everyone can go control, support, burst, tank, condition.
I have seen plenty of engineers spec for burst/tank and wreck all game.

I have personally watched a thief do this several times in a tPvP match. He would be down at the bottom of teh treb (out of LoS) and then he’s be at the top piecking at me and the mesmer, then he’d stealth and run away, run around to the bottom and poof right back up.
In what world does that say: “Fair”

There are no pros in this game, every class is ez.
Dont touch them, just get the points they are not defending.
The worst thing you could do would be to try and fight them, not because you would die, but because it would waste so much kitten time.
