First off, thanks to those who supported my VALID complaints about the Flesh Golem specifically. After Bas’s first reply I thought I was being overly dramatic. Yes, a simple return to me/ agro/ defensvie button would make it much better.
And to Cempa’s point, please don’t try to let Anet’s off the hook for its bad AI and pathing on some sort of Lore excuse. Yes, they are Minions, but that does not excuse the way an ELITE skill is semi-broke. All I’m saying is that it’s 6 months after release and no word on fixing Necro’s pets and Anet admitted within a short time that Ranger AI had major issues.
I am really enjoying the class, so don’t cry go play a Ranger. I am asking for the most basic fix.
Thanks!
So, I have a baby Necro (36) ATM, but played a Ranger to 50+ and have 80 Guardian. I was so excited to get the Elite pet @30, but OMG is it bad! I have been reading since release about how bad the Necro is broken, but really until I used this pet, I didn’t realize how bad their pet status is.
Pet will either stand around whole fights and not do a thing, or after fights will run off 2k+ units and agro mobs I want to bypass. So my question is this; Why can’t Anet just apply the Ranger pet AI to the Necro? I know Ranger pets aren’t perfect ( better now post patch), but at least they attack the Rangers target. Never had a Ranger pet stand around ONCE. Also, add a pet recall button like the Ranger has!
Please, game has been out for 6+ months, this seems like a easy-ish fix?!
So first, I am only 35 ish (got like 4 in the 30’s, cant decide on main!). Where are people getting these unique looking weapons/armor in Spvp? Are they 80 and bringing own gear into mists? Also, I just reached rank 10 and the rank 10 vendor does not look like it sells anything different than other vendors?
So I have been checking out all the Heart vendors as I lvl (32) and I have realized that even the heavy armor items ALL come with either healing/condition damage?! Am I missing something about warriors? Sword builds could use condition dmg, but where does healing come into play? I understand that those vendors are for all classes, so the Guardian could use those stats for his heavy armor. I am talking about 100% of heavy armor vendors from Hearts are cond/heal?
Enlighten me pls..
Do I have to go to the other race’s 2nd zone. Or can’t I just down level and start in their starting zone and get exp for my lvl? Sorry, I don’t really know how it goes…
So, my Human Mes is 17~ and next story quest is 20~. Have done all hearts that are close to my level in my zone. You can’t farm mobs for xp really in the game. So my question is; at what point to I jump over to the starting zones for other races? Is there a good time/ bad time in my process to 80?
Thanks and sorry for the noobness..
So, I am only lvl 14 but rank 8 already in PvP. I LOVE the Mesmer in Spvp and WvW. I have tried all classes and keep returning to Mes. I have watched all Mr. Pro’s videos several times and it has helped a TON in understand how class works and using abilities in synergy.
Problem I am having is Mr.‘s videos talk about PvE builds, but with extremely high skill points to spend. I just got to second zone and am having to blow a ton of CD’s and switch weapons several times just to kill 1 even lvl mob. 2 mobs and it is a run for my life. My guardian can take on 2-3 mobs even level no sweat. I know guards rock pve, but I shouldn’t be having all these problems @14 right? I hear that around 30 Mes becomes much easier to lvl.
So question is; what can I do next 15-20 levels to make my life easier? I use GS/S for both pve and pvp right now. Is there a more defensive weapon set up to use at these levels without the skill points? Any tips would be appreciated.
Thanks all!

Ok, after some playing around with the system, that I’d what is happening. I’m using mouse to rotate camera and curser is changing target if it roams over one. Any work around? I have de-selected auto- targeting under options.
Thanks!
So, I have read a bunch of technical posts about how the targeting system is GW2 works. Basically the auto target system tries to keep you targeted to your nearest enemy/ field of view. If you rotate more than 45 degrees from the target the game tries to switch to enemy/ friend inside your “cone” of view. So if you are a mouse strafe guy like myself you find you are switching targets way to much.
While this is a pain in PvE, it is just plain a deciding factor in PvP too often. I will have a player way down and because I strafe or lose LOS for a second the game switches targets. When you have a clump of enemy players those few seconds it takes to reacquire your beat down target can make all the difference.
So has anyone found a way to make this simpler? I have tried many options in the targeting system including auto lock on target and I can’t get game from switching targets when I don’t want. Any help would be great..
Thanks!
So topic says I am new to game. Forgive me, I tried to google/youtube answer. The Thief auto attack has several ranks in the chain. Does the chain progress on its own, or do I have to continue to hit auto button? Also, the last part of the chain is a backstab. How do I know what part of the chain is about to trigger so I can get in position for BS?
Thanks…
