Still Feeling Lucky [PunK] is recruiting

After a 2-3 month break, [PunK] is back!
We founded [PunK] 1.0 about one and a half year ago and started our adventures on Far Shiverpeaks. After a run of a little more than a year we decided it was time to try other guilds, search for our luck elsewhere.

Most of us had some good times playing for different guilds, different raid leaders. But at the same time we missed something. Missed being a [PunK], missed what made us who we wanted to be and wanted to raid with…

In b4 a reform: [PunK] 2.0!

With most of our core players back together we have started raiding again on Desolation (EU). But, we have some open spots on the roster and as such are recruiting some fresh meat for the grinder.

So what do we offer?
- 5 raids a week (sunday – thursday), starting at 19.30 CET (GMT +2)
- Strong, dedicated and experienced people with an HC mindset
- An international community of the weirdest people imaginable
- GvG’s
- Teambased builds and playstyle

What do we expect?
- Dedication
- Experience
- A similar HC mindset
- Attendance (of at least 4 raids a week)
- You need to talk on TS and have a high BS tollerance

I like this post and the metaphor of Evolution aplied to the changes in the raid meta (goes for PUG zergs as well, but is way more apparent in guild raids).

You forget one discussion imho: Nature vs Nurture

Let’s assume that your theory of Wuvolution represents the Nature side in this discussion. The effect that raid leaders (because every guild has at least one) and the local theorycrafters (because every good guild has at least one of those as well) have on the meta that the guild in questions runs could be seen as the nurture aspect.

Yes, there is a standard meta that all guilds will eventually lean towards. However, it’s the subtle differences in the individual builds that might well make the difference in fights.

Competitive, hardcore (if you will), guilds will always try and find the edge. That one little thing their opponents dont have. As such, they will always seek to counter the generally accepted meta. As a result, the meta might shift without an actual balance patch. Even though this might lead to a new meta, imho, it is not the result of Wuvolution (nature), but the ability of raid leaders and theorycrafters to figure out ways to counter the adaptations of others (nurture).

However, to give my answer to your question:
Yes, in a parallel universe, the same would happen.

(If you want to know if this is the case: just compare US vs EU ; not really a parallel universe, but close enough. Same will probably hold true for China. Subtle differences in playstyle, subtle differences in meta, but general idea will be the same.)

PunK will NOT take part in ANY inter-server alliances.
Nor will PunK get into a borderland to just queue it up.

If anybody says otherwise, please let me know who and when (so i can act accordingly).

Also @[EXG] regarding the screenshot: imho, that should have never happened, i will make sure it wont happen again.

Yesterday we had about 30-32 PunKs online (what can i say, it was a good day).
The rest where PUGs; but that is what you get when borders start queueing and there is no PUG commander on the map.

I would be interested in a fair fight though, got time today for a few organized rounds against PunK? Maybe before or after your GvG with SOUL (if that is still on)?

All in all, i enjoyed the fights with you guys yesterday.
Some fights we outmanned you, some fights you outmanned us.
But in the end, had a fun run yesterday!

FURY the only guild that runs past me roaming solo or a little grp of 4 of us they have my respect for it.

My mistake, should have been more clear:

I was not QQ-ing about the fact that other people QQ.
Seeing as how the internet is, by nature, basically one of the best places to QQ, it is unavoidable.

I was QQ-ing about the fact that it does not seem to matter what the FSP guilds do in this match-up, it will always be seen as wrong in this thread (either genuinely or by trollers). Imho, no double standards.

Please dont act like the actions of a few are representative of an entire server.
I have recordings from yesterdays fights, where PunK (with some PUGs) and SLAY (with some PUGs) met up a couple of times outside Bay on FSP border.

After a few fights, your side started making AC’s on the bridge near Vale.
And tbh, we dont care!

It’s all part of the game!

Aside from that: SLAY >>> good fights!
Really enjoyed them!

Also, PunK can confirm that FSP is NOT actively trying to get into Bronze League.
For a while it seemed that we might end up there and why not use that fact to get more guilds to join our server. Right now, it looks like we will end up in Silver.
Which has my personal preference!
PunK will do what we can to get us there!

Please dont start about GvG’s etc.
There are people that like to fight them, deal with it.
Its one hour per day at most that ties up people from 2 servers, not just yours!

I have to agree with Q on pretty much everything he said here.

FSP WvW is far from dead.
The WvW guilds we have are more than decent guilds!
Most of our PUGs know what to do, its just a discipline thing for them.
PUGs that want easy caps, PUGs that want to lvl their alts in WvW, etc.

Aside from this, FSP’s biggest problems are coverage and dedication.
We dont have it, we need it.

Most PunKs are in WvW when they are online.
Same goes for Kale, AoA and DW.
Its just not enough. These guilds cant run 24 hour events, 7 days a week.
Even if we could, it would still not be enough. We cant cover all maps with these guilds anyway.

Considering all of the above, i still enjoy FSP.
For me, right now, its not about winning.
Give me some good fights, good caps and good GvGs (when PunK is back and ready for it) and i am a happy WvW-er.

Fort Ranik: 15th
Far Shiverpeaks: 20th
Ring of Fire: 21st
Seems like a decent match-up to me.

I have also responded to your post in the match-up thread, but here we go again:

PunK is not a guild to deny another guild’s history, unless we have (beforehand) decided (together with the other guild) that the GvG is not going to be listed.

We accepted the GvG with you guys (in the week of our GvG agains Fire and HoB) because it was not to be listed. We had that fight on the same day as our Fire fight (actually: after our Fire fight). If it was to be listed, we would not have gone for it (seeing as how one GvG can drain enough focus and energy as it is).

Look at our record; we have lost more than we have won, and have never denied a guild their history, nor will we start to do so (again: unless it was discussed beforehand that it was not to be listed).

In this case: we did discuss this.

Also: i would have preferred you comming to us in private first, so that we could have talked about this, before you decided to come here and damage our reputation. Even so, we are still open for a discussion about this. Whisper me or Chelios ingame please.

To be fair: we are not the kind of guild to not accept a loss on the GvG website unless we previously agreed to the GvG being an “unofficial one” (as in: unlisted).

The GvG you are referring to (in the same week as HoB and Fire) was the exact same day as the fight with Fire. It was my understanding that this was to be a practice GvG (as in: unofficial). Therefore, not listed.

I am personnaly not responsible (within PunK) for what happens on that website (its another PunK’s responsibility), but im guessing that it has something to do with that.

I do however have to say that i would have much rather seen you come to us in private so we can sort this out, before you decided to post this message. That didnt happen (to my knowledge). That’s a shame if you ask me.

Like i said: PunK is not, and will never be, the guild to deny other guilds their history, unless it is agreed upon before hand that it was not to be listed in the first place…

With an ER guild, while under AC and cannon fire.
Yet you guys found it a good idea to hammer us while we where regrouping.

To IRAE: Nice fights! Keep them comming! Good to see ER has guilds that dont like to run in the blob, but solo roam or flank around it.

I was actually impressed seeing VcY on the battlefield.
You seem structured, well balanced and well organized.

Your reactions and general attitude on this thread however, tell a different story.

Its not respectable to outman/outmatch a group, roflstomp them and then come and laugh about it in the match-up thread. Also, when you use this tactic yourself, others will eventually use it against you. When they do, dont forget you do the exact same before you come and Q.Q. about it on the forum.

Im not one for comming on here to QQ about blobs and about people using siege, but i would like to set the record straight:

Yes, there where PunK people on the AC’s, but Blob vs Blob? Hardly! You outnumbered us at least 2-1 and yet you have the need to build your own AC’s while attacking SM. If you want to QQ about the tactics that FSP commanders employ, at least be decent enough to point out those two facts as well.

PunK would like to thank all the guilds from AG and UW (ofcourse the FSP guilds as well) for the nice night we had! Well done all and keep fighting the good fights!

Here’s an outside perspective:

GvG doesn’t exist inside Guild Wars 2, WvW is specifically designed for servers to fights for resources. You literally cannot force GvG on everyone just because you said so. It’s not your decision to make. Trying to cap assets and PvP is what WvW is all about, if you don’t like it then take it up with Anet to add GvG to the game. You’re acting ridiculous and quite frankly like children.

Given the fact your guilds make up a massive minority to the player base who exactly do you think you are raging that people are trying to complete objectives? I’ve heard it stated that “The majority of people voted yes to it” Sorry but I wasn’t informed by Anet that there was a vote and since; like I said you are a vocal minority I believe your opinion means very little in context considering the map is to be used by all three servers.

If you want to kitten each other then go do it in SPvP and have a few teams from each guild fight it out otherwise grow up, shut up & man up.

Some guilds like to GvG.
If people dont like that, im sorry.
Still, them not liking it, is in no way a good excuse to mess the GvGs up.

That is actually more childish than us not agreeing with the people trying to mess up imho.

10v10 is just a little out of our comfort zone.
Would love to try a 20v20 against JDGE one time!

However, all in all, i really enjoyed the GvG! First time we had a fight that was that intense and close. I was hoping for a win (i mean, arent we all?) but draw was well deserved by both parties.

As for the FSP nightcapping, i was there. But i am not at all ashamed about it. Just a part of the game. Oh and yeah, wasnt nightcapping, was about 6, 7 in the morning (so, id say: morning capping?).

This has been a pretty good match-up for PunK. Even though FSP isn’t winning this match-up or even ending it in second place, we have had some good events. Awesome fights and a lot of fun.

Respect for all the Gandara guild groups roaming out there! Keep the fights comming.

Oh and Liert. Keep the lions under control. Its not gonna take long before all of FSP is fed up with you guys!

I have to agree with UW on this one.

They accomplished something they think is cool/fun (and maybe even something they are proud of),and wanted to share it. Nothing wrong with that imho.

They had the coverage last night, we didnt. Something we still have to fix, if we want to win more often (and yeah, there still are guild groups on FSP that care about the score). For now, we just have to accept it, be respectfull and say: well done UW!
