FPS issues after patch, fixed by PC restart

This seems like a rather unusual issue, but after every time I download an update for GW2, no matter how big or small, I get constant stuttering and FPS drops. If I restart my computer after patching, then try to play, the FPS is fine. Since I don’t have an SSD and this game likes to patch once every few days, it’s a minor annoyance that I’m forced to close everything I’m doing, power down my computer, then wait for it to power back on just to play.
I’ve tried force closing every extra process that might be causing an issue (Leaving only the essential processes plus any programs that launch on PC startup), but the only thing that seems to remedy the issue is rebooting my PC
It makes just as much sense as the people complaining that the drop rates are too low.
My point is that anecdotal evidence means nothing because when RNG is involved there is bound to be two ends of the spectrum.
I’ve run it 6 times and got a stack of BL Salvage Kits, a kitten ton of halloween mats, the Halloween shield and the Greatsaw skin.

Seriously though, here, have a few other issues with this event:
- camera bugging out on the environment at certain angles. For bigger characters who tend to be zoomed out further, this is more prominent than on smaller characters.
- warriors can take in a banner with them to AoE buff EVERYBODY. You know, everybody. Including you, the guy in the middle of a jump who then suddenly overshoots it because HOLYGEEZSWIFTNESS.There are actual several very valid arguments as to where this puzzle is frustrating and it has nothing to do with the jumps, the timer, or the puzzle. It has everything to do with the exploits, the uncaught bugs and the people you try to play with to complete the puzzle – but almost 100% of the time end up playing against instead.
I’ve run this puzzle many times and I’m yet to see a warrior able to carry the banner into the puzzle, so excuse me if I’m doubtful.
What I meant to say was that some of us actually enjoy the challenge and won’t appreciate if Anet makes it easier just because some people are crying about it being too hard.
I agree, some of the bugs need to be fixed, but this was directed mainly towards those complaining solely about the difficulty.
Once you know how to do it it’s simple/ I’ve done it twice on each of my characters so far, and it took me about 30 minutes of attempting it before I managed to get it down the first time.
The only reason I could understand people complaining is if you’ve tried it 4-5 times and given up. Honestly. The more you try the easier it gets, and completing it actually feels rewarding. So don’t go kittening about how you’ve spent “8 hours” doing it because in reality it’s nowhere near as hard as you guys are making it out to be unless you have some kind of disability or insanely slow reflexes, and even then you just have to keep going until you know the path, since once you know what you’re doing, speed isn’t even a limiting factor.
The only valid arguments I’ve seen so far:
-Elementalists Air attunement get increased speed if traited right. This is a valid problem and should be addressed, but yet, it doesn’t affect you in any way. How does the speed of one person affect you?
-Body blocking.
NOTE: This assumes the recipe on the wiki is actually correct.
So. To craft the Eternity it apparently requires both Sunrise and Twilight, as well as a Gift of Mastery and a Gift of Fortune
The only problem with this is that in order to do this, you’d have to craft Sunrise/Twilight on one character, and then level another character up to 80 just to craft the other.
This is because of the Gift of Exploration. Currently the only way to obtain this is to achieve 100% map completion, upon which you are given 2 Gifts of Exploration.
Eternity requires 3 Gifts of Exploration to craft. 2 for the precursors and 1 for the weapon itself.
Am I the only person who has noticed this or has it been brought up before?
Either the recipe is incorrect or the weapon actually requires 2 level 80 characters with 100% world completion and 400 Armorsmithing and Weaponsmithing.
For instance, I want to buy X amount of gems, and then convert Y of it into gold, but before I buy X amount of gems, I want to know how much gold I would get from Y converting Y amount of gems.
Currently, it doesn’t let you see the values in the trading post for any value higher than what you currently possess.
I understand you could just use the average price of 100 gems to estimate it, but that doesn’t allow me to see the exact value at this time, especially since the price usually fluctuates between 25-32 silver per 100 gems.

I’m getting tired of all these gold sellers mailing me. I get 2-3 messages every time I login. Please add a feature which allows us to select who can send us mail.
The way I see it, it provides too much utility to pass up.

Wait what? Armor of Earth is stabilization. Arcane Shield blocks an attack outright. Staff gets Gust of wind. Focus offhand gets Gale. 5 options. 3 defensive 2 offensive. Ele has some of best personal defensive moves I’ve seen. Not to mention kiting. We have slows/cripples and 2 immobilization moves(shockwave and Signet of Earth).
Also Vapor Form/Armor of Earth/Arcane Shield are instantaneous(cantrips). If you get knocked down when you go to use its because you weren’t fast enough. It’s not because it activated slowly.

I don’t think you understand what I mean.
I’m talking about downed skills.
As in, when you’re already downed, every other profession has a way to deny the enemy from stomping them, but Elementalists don’t.

It gives your team a chance to assist you?
It might be useless to you but in organized tournament games, good stomp denial and teamwork is crucial.
You really think that every build should be effective in every situation?
No. I’m just saying, necromancers should actually be useful against bosses.

Except Elementalists.
We have to wait 6 seconds before we can use Vapour Form.
Warriors have a knockdown.
Thieves have stealth/teleport.
Mesmers have the clone/stealth
Engineers have a knock back and a pull.
Necromancers have fear.
Guardians have a PBAoE knockback.
Rangers can get pet skills which can interrupt stomps, and can use their pet to revive them.
What do we get? Vapor Form. Which by the time we can use, we have already been stomped.
This is to be expected, the balance is done for small groups so it makes sense that when you get a large amount of players hitting the same target they would lose effectiveness, which is why there are no raid in the game.
Bosses usually have multiple target points(head, and arms), be sure to spread all condition across all of them and not just focus one the head like most people do.
My concern is for necromancers whose main source of damage is condition, as well as various other condition builds such as P/S Engineer. Even when spreading the conditions among multiple target points, that’s still 75 bleed slots to be fought over by ~50 people.
Also, We are also the only profession who have no immediate stomp prevention (All we have is our 3 when downed which has a 6 second delay from being downed before we can use it)
You guys don’t get it.
You need to put in so much more effort to do anything as an Ele because your skills are spread out over 4 attunements.
Also, you either go glass cannon, do okay damage, and die in half a second, or go tanky, do next to no damage, and survive a few hits.

Lots of good advice there. I have 0 issues. Zero. issues.
Very little of that has any relevance in PvP, as Thieves outclass Elementalists in every way, besides maybe utility, AND require less skill to play.
Bleeds can only stack up to 25, which means a group of 30-50 people are fighting over 25 bleed stacks.
Burn stacks duration and deals laughably low damage to bosses.
Confusion means nothing because they attack so slowly.
Is anything being done about this?
We put in 4x the effort that any other profession does, and still only do half the damage.
We’re so squishy we blow up when a mosquito looks at us funny.
Our kit is so far spread out that we can’t do anything well.
The way it works now is, you either go full glass cannon, do mediocre damage (About the same damage as any other profession building tanky, a lot less than any other profession glass cannon) but die in two hits, or build tanky, do no damage, and take a few hits.
I’m tired of having to put in so much effort both in dungeons and structured PvP, just to see thieves doing more damage than me with Heartseeker, or warriors out-DPSing me with Eviscerate and 100 Blades.
If another profession can do more damage by spamming 1 or 2 skills than an Elementalist can actually playing smart, then it’s fairly clear how weak this profession is.
I’m seriously considering just re-rolling a thief, since they have more sustained damage, more burst and more mobility.
