Will current precursors get cheaper on TP?

I would say they will go down in price, but make sure you have the other mats ready. Even if the expensive pre’s drop 100g or more you will probably end up spending more overall when it comes to t6 mats. My prediction anyway.

Why is Double Daily Fractal still happening?

Demonzu.4215

As others have said… you will just have to deal with missing a daily if you can’t stand doing simple WvW tasks or one quick PvP match to top off your daily. You shouldn’t be able to get 10 AP for waypointing to a vista and harvesting a few nodes every day.

Information, and the lack thereof

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Demonzu.4215

Demonzu.4215

The information is probably coming slow because they don’t have anything concrete to give. For example, It wouldn’t be much of a blog post if all they did for the specialization for the Mesmer was “the Mesmer specialisation is the Chronomancer and they use a shield”.

The bits given in the Revenant blog were given because they were happy with them parts.

Think about what you’re suggesting, though.

If they’re really not all that far along with making the specializations, then they’re talking about an expansion that they can’t promise to bring to the table. They don’t know that they can really pull off what they expect without breaking the code, they don’t know if they can get it anywhere close to right. Telling us anything at all about an expansion at that stage is questionable at best, and it would also mean that they’re expecting us to just do nothing new in the game while they leave the story stuck on a cliffhanger for … what? A year to make all the stuff and get it working? A year wouldn’t be unreasonable at all for that amount of work.

-or-

They’re further along than they’ve stated. Much, much further. They play up how much they have left to do, to make it sound like the big stuff is still up in the air, but it’s not. It’s decided and mostly coded, with just detail work and testing to do now. They’ll have the expansion out in a few months, instead of the year or more that their statements would suggest. They just don’t want people to realize that they have once again been cut out of any real input into major changes in the game. They don’t want players to realize that the guild CDIs and such were made to fish for people saying what they wanted to hear, so they’d have someone to blame for bad choices when/if the time comes and the design stinks. We might get to inspire a few detail changes, but the big stuff is all set in stone already.

So, which do you think? Are they really only able to say “Mesmer specialization will be Chronomancer, and it uses a shield”, or are they playing us while much further along than they’ve let on?

I’m going with the second possibility. Mostly because I am hype and want the expansion to come out, but also because they tend to be vague with new releases these days. At launch they gave so many details about upcoming features that it led to lots of “Anet lied to us!” threads if any minor thing changed. Hopefully they are closer to done.

Also… would they really give us a demo/stress test if they had almost a year of coding left?

[Suggestion] Putting a CAP on Currencies

No… just no… Putting a cap on certain currencies doesn’t change anything. We still won’t have anything useful to spend it on AND we won’t be able to amass it in case it ever is useful. Also if they ever did do this, what about those us of with over 10 million karma?

[Suggestion] Legendary Weapon Sigils Switching

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Demonzu.4215

Demonzu.4215

Have to disagree with this.

The stat swapping utility of a Legendary is already enough of a benefit over a standard Ascended item. This already provides a significant edge over having to craft multiple ascended weapons for multiple builds. Especially when taking account bound into consideration.

Having to purchase/replace sigils to accommodate a build is a pittance compared to having to craft an entire ascended weapon. Also, unless you’re at the tippy-tippy-top of record setting performances, use of rare sigils over exotics would be just fine for frequent build changes (often 1%-3% variance between exotic and rare). Or even taking a loss of maybe 5% performance by not swapping at all is hardly even a material consideration for general use.

And if, for arguments sake, that level of min/max performance is a consideration, having to craft additional ascended weapons – (edit) in addition to already having a legendary – is also a pittance compared to the collaborative armor/runes/trinkets/(edit)infusions which would be necessary as well to achieve that performance.

And yes, this comes from a legendary user.

For the price of 1 legendary, you can craft 30-40 ascended weapons. With all of those ascended, you can have every combination of stats with a big variety of Sigils and builds + you can have weapon of every type and put them on every character so u won’t have to move them around.

To conclude: Even with the Sigil swapping feature, 30-40 ascended are still far more convenient than 1 legendary if u don’t care about the skin.

It seems like you are only looking at the expensive legendaries. This isn’t the case for all of them.

My settings didn’t reset, but the effect of them did if that makes sense. When I relog my FOV setting is maxed out, but it doesn’t appear that way. If I lower it then max it out again then my FOV appears the way it should at max setting.

EDIT: madhat’s screenshots above this post is exactly the issue I am having.

I tried to que up for spvp and everyone clicked ready on the screen right before you vote on maps. All 10 check marks were displayed and it did not go any further. It is impossible to leave the que or exit the window at this point so I attempted to exit to desktop and launch the game again. This is what I logged into: http://prntscr.com/6hdcwy

Game is unplayable like this.

EDIT: I came up with the idea of trying to get everyone out of the que by logging out and waiting for the check marks to disappear. The only 3 left were myself and 2 others I que’d up with. You exit the que after 10 minutes of being offline. When that happened I relogged and the box disappeared. Hopefully this will help others to remove it.

Removal Of WvW Map Completion In Patch

in WvW

Posted by: Demonzu.4215

Demonzu.4215

The reason WvW being part of map completion is a problem is because if you happened to roll a character on a bad WvW server you have 0 chance of ever completing it. You shouldn’t be forced to switch servers to finish content. If you had no problems getting any portion of the wvw map consider yourself lucky.

That is false. You always had a chance because you never always play the same color. It might be long to get without any fighting, but hardly impossible even if you can’t be bothered to fight at all.

Color doesn’t matter when you never hold the bottom half of your borderlands. Or if you are lucky to hold your keep each week. Some bottom tier servers are that bad, and their only option for a legendary is to buy it outright.

I was on a completely dead WvW server at one point. I had to switch to Jade Quarry when free server transfers were allowed to finish map completion. You can’t fully understand unless you are in that position. If I started out on SBI (the server I’m on now) it would be easy to tell people to just wait for a color rotation.

There are some good commanders, but noone who isnt replaceable.

Disagree.

Xushin from Maguuma. Dragun Knight from YB. Bannok from SBI. Any of those servers lose those guys, there is literally nobody to replace them.

He means that nobody has ascended to a level of skill that cannot be replicated. Sure some servers may not have someone ready to take over if their best commanders left, but it’s not like nobody on the planet will ever reach their skill level.

Also, I’m on SBI. Praise lord Bannok!

WvW no longer required for world completion

This is amazing. Having to do the WvW maps was making me never ever want to do Map Completion. A fresh reason to play!

I feel the same way. After this update I will be happy to log into my other characters and finish their map completion. Some only have one map left with a corner of WvW, others I didn’t even bother mapping because I knew I had to wait for three color rotations in WvW. WvW mapping was never difficult, but it came down to pure luck and made the mapping experience extremely discouraging (for me at least).

The most feasible suggestions have already been made. In the mean time I would vendor/TP all your blues/greens. I would imagine you don’t exactly need many crafting mats if you rushed max luck.

This. Anet used to let us in on a lot of what they were working on when the game was released, but anytime anything changed or didn’t get released on time the forums get flooded with hate. I wish they would give us information on future plans again, but I understand why they never will anymore.

I am happy with the introduction of this armor set knowing full well that I won’t have a chance at it. I don’t care enough to compete on a higher level for gw2, if I wanted to go back to that lifestyle I’d go pro on another fps, but that’s an entirely different discussion…

It’s nice to see Anet reward the players that dedicate a lot of effort into refining their PvP. Can’t wait to see how cool it is and eat popcorn while more self-entitled kids rage about how they can’t get it.

GoogleBrandon nobody likes elitist pricks nor cares what they have to say, take it elsewhere.

Since it’s always going to be the same people in the tournaments, no how much you say to “git good” or how much people actually try to “git gud”, the prestige set should also be available as a high rank reward so people have incentive other than/beyond the dragon finisher.

Right now, the pvp rewards are really poor. You make far more gold per hour in EotM and dungeons. That should be looked at. We, the average players, the BULK of the community, need more reasons to pvp (and play GW2 in general).

Nobody likes people that think they are entitled to anything and everything. He isn’t being elitist by stating that we need more skill-gated items (we do). You can earn a new armor set in a reasonable amount of time by winning PvP matches, or earn it through an extremely tedious grind by losing every match. The best of the best have a shot at an exclusive armor set. I will re-state what he tried to say to that guy four times. Get good OR settle for the lesser pvp set. Your choice.

Kicked from Fractals for playing what I enjoy

People continually make these asinine posts about how they deserve to play whatever they want and have 4 other people do the work for them. Do what you want but at least tell other people you have no desire to complete content.

Pfft. What’s gonna happen? You’ll wipe and the dungeon will boot your party out? Nope, you get infinite lives, and mobs don’t respawn. The only thing that can make a dungeon fail in this game is loss of morale (you could argue Agony as well, but that’s pretty much the only thing that creates an artificial barrier and has no baring on gear type). If you want a perfect team, why are you pugging in the first place?
You can do content in Soldiers, or Carrion or anything, and be successful. You don’t need to use meta tactics. Anet hasn’t altered the dungeon, adding codes that prevent nonmeta builds from being successful.

You’ll waste everyone’s time.

oh so if someone doesn’t play well he should be kicked?

if someone doesn’t use meta builds he should be kicked?

whats next? if someone gets downed he be kicked?

if i don’t like a huge norn blocking my view he be kicked too?

kicking for such is as stupid as blaming commanders when zergs fail him.

anet should scrap the kick system, too many immature people kicking others because of stupid reasons. if not it may give rise to a toxic community.

Yes, if someone is doing nothing to help the party out in a TEAM EFFORT they should be kicked. If you want to run something that requires 0 contribution on your part stick to world boss train. I personally don’t care if you run the perfect meta min/max’d build. However, if you decide to run something that literally helps nobody including yourself (low dps isn’t helping you or the team), I will just assume you either got carried to lvl 49 fractals or are trolling the group on purpose.

Improved kites

I welcome these kites with open arms. Like many of you, I see it as one step closer to mounts, which is one of the few things GW2 is “missing” in my eyes. If/When Anet decides to push towards fully fledged mounts, they can create a sticky’d topic where everyone can voice their concerns, whether it be negative or positive. I personally will then pretend that thread doesn’t exist, or maybe visit it once in awhile if I ever have a craving for tears.

EDIT: I sunk 1000’s of hours into gw1, but also into many other MMO’s. I think some people should let go of gw1 and focus on gw2, because they are completely different games. With that said.. mounts please <3
