When I tested it, there was a 20% dps loss. Might have increased after recent patches
Valkyre is definatly better and it was the only set I could reach 28k dps but that still is very bad compared to other classes. For pugs necro brings good heals and cc but others do it better and every raid group is somehow aiming for a new record run. Could be hard to find a group
Content which is soloable in under 10 minutes is clearly no hardcore content
What? Thief is 2# dps?
It is definatly not for sure
I think removing the vendor was one of the worst things A-Net ever did. With this change they force a lot of people to spend hours and hours in WvW even if they aren’t interested in that. In a good train it takes at least 9h with 100% participation about 20h with 50% and for someone who has only time to play 1h a day, the gift of battle reward track needs around 40h-50h to complete. And that is all in a game mode that isn’t fun for most PvE Players. Noone had a problem with farming Badges of Honor or playing WvW to get the gift of battle but they just turned it into a HUGE grind.
I think reducing the reward track points to 10k is reasonable and would compare to 500 Badges but 20k is just ridicoulos
Everyone should play with a ping of 500 so noone has an advantage.
I have to dissagree with your numbers. A power reaper can get to 27k dps which makes it average dps way better than 20k or 21k but you’ll need valkyre gear and miss out on some precision when running with pugs.
whot?
can i question you how and can you provide a screenshot of that on the new dps golems?
also not on a golem with like 1m hp, go on the one with 4mil…all buffs are fine.i play my reaper just for the lulz in openworld maps. so it has no perfect gear. meaning, only my weapons and trinkets are asc and i’m using rune of strengh instead of scholar.
even for the dmg tests (all buffs) i didn’t use seaweed salad as food, so my dps was sitting at like 15k.
i could go higher up to like 18 to 20k when i abused the lichform (popping it, resetting skills to have it twice).just to mention, i also saw the videos from brazil on his power nec with 22k dps, so i know you can go higher up then my numbers and i am aware that i don’t have the perfekt gear for it.
so there is some more room to get more dps, for sure. but it would like to see 27k dps as screenshot without any cheesing stuff and as maintained dps. i doubt it, thats why i am asking and if you can do it i would like to know how you did it and on wich golem.
you can skew the numbers on ele too, but no one sane in their mind would say thats the normal dps of a ele. (refering to that thread)
I can’t show you my own screenshots or gameplay because I am not home at the moment but I can link a video which gives an example of reaper damage https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4sXFsow6rM
(All credit for this video goes to Scoots F).
In the end you can see that he got to 26,85k which is ~27k on the 4mill health golem with all buffs. As I said before, this is obviously not an average dps of 27k, but around 24-25k which still is far superior than 20k-21k mentioned earlier.

Venomshare thief is highly underrated, but you loose DD traitline unfortunatly. You can support your team as the fastest breakbarkiller ingame and with bountiful theft and lifesteal. Nothing for world records, but very strong for PuGs and organized groups as well.
I think this is one of the best condi builds for dungeons too (50% breakbar dmg + poisson bursts instead of slowly stacking up)
The problem is that necros have very little group support and a big part of that is ignored by unskilled tryhards who want their Pug raid to be a world record run.
Power necro is dead for Raids, but still okay for dungeons while condi is strong in raids and high level fractals
dont know what you were testing but my power necro did around 24k dps yesterday
GW2 is the best game to play while learning because nothing distracts you
For every Boss:
2x Druid
2x Ps Warr
1x Rev
1x-2x Mesmer
1x-2x Ele
0x-1x Thief
+Guard/Reaper depending on boss.
So everything is totally fine and has it’s uses, only Engi is excluded from “Metaruns” but are okay for PUGs.
skill>class
If your guild has 10 good Guards, ill pick them over a 10 okayish metaplayers all the time

15% Grace of the land, 10% glyph of empowerement, about 7% from frost spirit (10% in 75% of hits = 3/4 = 0.66), and spotter are unique druid buffs that help increasing your dps. Extremly good in a perfect situation, but cooldowns lower your buffing abilities by a lot
I’d say viable for every raidboss because they dont move very fast and perma protection is very powerfull as well.
Usually a class is played more when damage gets buffed but rev seems to be different
What damage buff you speaking about? I missed something?
Its rare to see rev nowdays btw let it be pve or pvp.
sword #2 guarantees 3 projectiles whitch is a big dps gain, even with the sword #1 nerf

I open groups and tell everyone if it’s okay for them not to exploit mossmann – and still get kicked very often.
Most players that stack on the tree are just too bad to dodge his attacks, the amount of bearbows, eartheles and minionmasters who like to sit there is proving my point
Ventari is pretty good in fractals and dungeons where projectile block is needed. Mallyx unfortunaly has no real place in PvE, it is just a huge damage loss and not really useful. As someone said earlier, next patch is 3 month away so enjoy the new dps potential of rev before it gets nerved:)
To be honest I agree with OP
REV had good DPS in PVE also great support now …..their DPS is mediocre …..Even my Power necro with Dagger pull off better DPS….
That doesnt make sense. You say that Rev had good DPS before the patch. The patch buffed Revs DPS and now it is mediocore? I mean good and good is not mediocore, it’s still good.
it is a very hard profession to master
Aaaaaand that’s where I stopped reading. The best pve rotation for revenant was literally to just use sword auto, and nothing else. Revenant was bullkitten easy to play, and I say that as someone who has essentially mained revenant since HoT launch.
Bullkitten, you need to precast first all facets, release it right before fight, use CC if needed (name; glint elite and shiro elite). After that you had to switch to shiro, use impossible odds til running out or you had enough to unrelenting assault and/or using figid blitz. Depending on mobs you have to cast rift to align the mobs in order to max out efficiency with axe 5. You only do impossible odds and sword auto if you are super lazy and yes; there were kittenty players who did that all the time, but it’s not fun then and not remotely effective if you don’t use all the herald facets. Why would you even do that…
I don’t call it hard but you still have to manage a bit and time your skills to max out DPS and evade enemy attacks.
Yeah, and dont forget about the adad spam, thats the most annoying part of Rev Rota:)
You take a lot from the revenants and gives us nothing, it is a very hard profession to master and what you do? make it even harder and unbalanced putting the revenants – heralds at the bottom of the ladder the least effective profession now.
Thank you for destroying the revenants profession aka thanks for nothing Arena Net
1. They moved AA damage to other skills, nothing has been “taken away”
2. Revs DPS rota is still simple to master
3. the least effective Profession? So 50% boon Duration, projectile block, perma prot, fury and so on is bad?
because there are already 12min runs
Nothing will change.
The question will still be how much warriors you can stack without loosing dps and Anet does not seem to be interested in changing it.
The buffs to Ele and Rev are a perfect example of failed PvE balancing, unfortunatly
Mallyx elite has a casttime while jalis hammers dont. The additional time can be used to hit one more time. You want to use the spinning hammers in jalis
The build did not change at all in the last 20 days at metabattle
The buildcreator himself Plays Glint/Jalis
I’m not pulling numbers out of my kitten, I just stated that you gain at least one more autohit from taking Jalis which usually hits for about 7-13k.
You want to run jalis over mallyx because it is just way more dps. Arround 7-13k more dps depending on your autohit. You clearly dont know whats jalis can do. The hammers alone are as much dps if not better than the 10% boots + you dont miss autoattacks. I wont click on the metabattle links because the builds there are worse than yours, but I think you should not copy and paste builds that are old and far from optimal
got the same problem, took me 5 minutes to press “play”
Hey,
As a new thief player I have no idea what the best weapon for content like Fractals/Dungeon/Raids is.
I think DD has better DPS and Staff doesnt seem to have any use for PvE content.
Sword seems to be our “save” weapon for harder content.
Because of the higher DPS (if thats true…) of Dagger/Dagger this should be the setup im supposed to run for dungeons, right?
What are your prefered weapon choices?
So, what would be the best condi necro build for a “no add boss” like Vale Guardian?
Blood Magic over Dhuumfire?
Yea,
Just noticed that we can’t be healed while in Reaper Shroud. This bug makes it nearly unplayable in raids, where dedicated healers are required and excludes necros even more from LFG
It’s very bad to sit at 1k health while everyone else if full-.-
Condi reaper is better then condi berserker at small hitboxes, and slightly worse than a perfect engineer, which you cant find anyways. Condi Reaper got buffed very much, seems like people need a Dnt guide to see whats strong and whats not and kick out everything that Dnt is not running
Just finished it with DH and DD, its more about personal skill than classes, as long as your team “makes sense”
How can a guild with such a high popularity be so arrogant and feel like gods after clearing PUGable content and training for a month?
I hope all the “copy pasterino builds from DnT players” will stop beeing disrespectful one day…
Good Job Anet for a very quick answer to such bad behaviour. That shows us that you care about your playerbase
A few suggestions:
Superspeed is not needed for Dungeons/Fractals. I prefer having “recovery matrix” for better survivability and scholar rune bonus uptime.
“siege rounds” is as far as I know a slight DPS boost. However, combined with the Condi dmg boost from firearms Shrappnel should be better and taken all the time. I dont know exactly tbh.
