Today I thought id try rune of dwayna (increases regen duration 20%) to increase the regen duration on my guardian. Too my surprise when I equipped it my regen duration did not move in the tool tip. I checked and it’s not just a tool tip error. I then switched to rune of water (increases boon duration %15) and whala the regen duration increased 1 second. So clearly the runes of dwayna are broken. Please fix this issue Anet.

Why would anyone feel the need to post this?

Uh .. congrats on killing someone!

Commanders, regardless of class, are a target to any organized group for obvious reasons, and any decent 4 man should be able to drop one with a target assist regardless of what class he/she plays. It’s an expected hazard of choosing to tag up.

if it’s an expected hazard then why handicap yourself by playing one of the squishiest classes? Commanders should either be warrior or guardian…

An interesting take on what a commander should be. You do realize built/played correctly that most classes can be just as solid/tanky as a guardian or warrior, right? I have also seen both the before mentioned classes melt under focus fire just as fast as a thief. Although an interesting perspective as to what class a commander “should” be. Heck, a heavily bunkered necro is a far tankier choice than either guardian or warrior due to a huge base health pool and DS. You also need to take into account commanding style into whichever class you choose for commanding. Any player, regardless of the class they play, can be effective as a commander. Coming to the forums declaring that only 2 classes should command is absurd and uneducated.

Necrosis don’t have access to high armor or protection or stability.

Actually wrong on all 3 counts…
Spectral Wall = Protection
Spectral Armor = Protection
Lich Form = Stability
Plague = Stability

Reasonably high armor and one of the best condition removal sets in the game.
Traited Stability on DS as well, and two massive health bars.

But like I said, uneducated about different classes.

I don’t think stability on a 3 minute cooldown can be counted as reliable and no good necro build uses that stability in DS trait…I also don’t think a class with 0 mobility should be commanding.

also plz tell me how necro’s can heal better then guards with AH or warriors with healing signet?

the problem is that tankiness isn’t the only trait a commander needs it also needs:

mobility (this is not 25% movement bonus this refers to leaps and shadowsteps…)
self sustain (lots of heals)
and group support for those pushes in choke holds
and some light CC is good too

^ find a class that can do that better then a guardian or warrior and then you’ll have an argument.

certain classes can do things better then others and that’s just something you have to accept if you wanna get better at the game…you gotta learn to play your role according to your class.

Is that a joke? Necro’s spectral walk gives like 40seconds of swiftness. Also ds #2 skill teleports the necro and so does destruction of flesh worm. Plenty of mobility.

I dare you to go on the necro forums and claim a necro is better at tanking head first into a pit of AoE and CC then a guardian is…they’ll do a much better job then me explaining why you’re wrong.

Also ds #2 skill is unreliable, only ports you if it lands. And who in their right mind runs flesh worm? Same with spectral walk…

show me a build for necro’s that has 3.5k armor, 1k healing power, mobility, lots of group support, CC, and group cond cleanse, and decent damage output.

Someone’s mad. I never said they were tankier or could take more damage but you’re claiming they have 0 mobility and you are dead wrong. Plenty of necros run spectral walk. Learn your classes mate.

my mistake, I grouped up all the claims everyone on this thread has made about necro’s being better for commanding then guardians and summarized them in that last response.

It’s cool and Yeah I wasn’t arguing that. I run a guardian for group play

There a no classes more tanky than a warrior or guardian. Necrosis don’t have access to high armor or protection or stability. DS doesn’t mean anything if you are stunned/knocked back and it is burst down. You can build a tough Necro but he won’t be as tough as a bunker war or guard ever.

I’m going to say my ranger is just as tanky as if not tankier than most guards. 7 evades with one weapon set, over 3k armor, and 27khp he’s a kitten to bring down. I play guardian too so I’m not biased. It really all matter’s on your build anyways. That being said I don’t think anything can touch a warrior on tankiness.

I’ll be honest, this has been the worst week of WvW since launch. I’m not much for complaining about being out number mainly because i really enjoy it. With that I know I will get zerged occasionally, but this week is a joke. SF has a crop of very low skilled players, I don’t think ive been beat in a fair fight yet.

They will sit in a tower or keep with 7-8 guys on siege and 4-5 opponents on the ground. They will do this for hours at a time, i’m just so confused. I have no idea how to get in a semi decent fight this week, they are all cowards.

I fought a eng this morning on my ranger, he ran me into keep npcs 3x as he saw he was going to lose, so i backed away and went about my business, everytime he followed and did the same thing. So being the outstanding guy I am, I invited him to group and asked why he ran to npcs when he was beat? His response was classic…..“because you werent losing any health…..”

This is the epitome of the skill level of SF, these guys are so use to zerg easy mode they can’t fight decent players, its a joke. You boys need to strap on a pair and come out of your keeps……

Sounds like almost every night I had against SF. I thought I was just having an unlucky week.

As a ranger I have to comment on this.

Stealth is an ability like any other and deserves some sort of counter. I rely on knock backs and evasive techniques to keep my enemies away but a block or reflect stops my knock back and many classes can break the distance between me and them easily so why shouldn’t there be a stealth counter if anything my build can do can be countered?

That Being said as a ranger I’ll never use sick em cause using a ulitity slot for a reveal is a waste IMO. Especially since a thieves stealth is already normally very predictable so I don’t think you’ll see a lot this ultilitybeing used. The rangers now will prob be instagibbed before they get a chance to make use of it anyway now making us the main target of thieves.

I’m not full zerker but close to it. Id use beryl orbs or rune of divinity. My atk is about the same it’s around 3100-3200 don’t remember but it’s fine cause our pets do like 40% of our damage so the orbs make up for the loss of power with crit damage increase.
Put it simply I have around the same power as you I have 108% crit damage 3k more health than you. Pretty much the same toughness and crit chance of 54%. I use food to get to 112% crit damage and 61% crit chance. I don’t think the atk is what you need to fix IMO. Damage wise with range with longbow I hit around 3k and I’ve seen my greatsword maul range from 5k-9k. Typically 5k tho

I roamed with that guy from HP sometimes I was wondering how he was so quick. His player name is Captain Adverse idk about user, but on that note I got speed hacked by an engi not representing on GoM the other night. There’s always someone on every server I guess ours just over abuse it lol.

Some other mmos have the ability to duel other characters in your server at any time. I would really like if this was implemented into guild wars 2.
Just like you can invite another player to a party only now you can invite him/her to duel also. It would be a fantastic way to easily test builds and just have fun matches with your friends. This option would be applicable anywhere but pvp obviously. Anyone else think so?

I like the idea of pets adding stat bonuses. Adds more strategy to the pet where now you can time the pet switch to benefit you in certain situations. They’d have to reduce the cool down a bit though I think.

I can tell you why this won’t happen. Money.
Being able to apply multiple skins to one weapon reduces the need for some players to purchase gems from the store. People will be less likely inclined to purchase the transmutations crystals, or gems to convert into gold to rebuy the weapon on tp to place the new skin on. And with all this free bank room there goes people purchasing the bank extension slot or inventory slot. This will reduce the amount of money guild wars makes. So I don’t think this will be happening any time soon unless they can figure out a way to make money off it. Like a infinite skin chooser crystal

Let’s stop kidding ourselves. Thieves have a very high surviability and high damage build where as it’s not hard to play right if you know what you’re doing. Most classes it’s one or the other.

NPC's gaining all of their health back

I’m sure this has been aggravating for a number of guild players. On numerous occasions, I’ll be fighting a powerful npc (sometimes in a dungeon) and when their health is drastically low the npc will start running back to it’s start position, and gain all of their health back! Even if I chase after the npc still attacking it, the npc will gain all of it’s health back. Either I have to do all the work of trying to kill the npc again or sometimes I die because of this! As a ranger I try to stay far away from my opponent to do maximum damage with my bow and if they chase after me and I try to continue to keep my distance and boom hp regen. The npcs should have the same still in combat feature as the players do and not regen all of their health if someone is too far away from their start position.
