I’m also on Verizon in the NYC area and am experiencing this issue.

Instead of setting up a VPN, try this workaround:

Edit C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts using notepad (run as administrator)

Add this line at the bottom:
174.35.56.164 assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.com

Save the file. If Notepad prompts you to save as a new file, you need to start over and run Notepad as administrator.

If you have the GW2 launcher already open, restart it. If this still doesn’t help, you may need to change the address above and try a different number (e.g. assetcdn.102.etc..).

You may want to remove this line later when (if?) they resolve the networking issue.

Do you buy every game you see instantly or do you do your research first? I do research on anything I’m going to buy and if you do research on this game before buying it then you will know that the name is tied to the story. It’s like playing AC4 and then saying why the hell am I playing a pirate.

No! Breaks immersion, no point at all since we have total make over kit and waypoints , no tyrian history of hair streaks. Hair streaks are extinct, just another gold sink, anti-fun and bad mechanics, clipping issues, too much resources, dumb, sounds like every other mmo, GW2 is not every other mmo, pay to win, overpowered, I’ll quit if they do that.

Can spend $400 on a virtual skin, but can’t spend $150 to get a decent card. Logic.

You haven’t thought to yourself that it may be a bad idea to let your child stare at scenery for hours?
