Does not sound particularly good on GW2 instruments, especially at the end due to accidentals. I approximated it with X/Y notation (play notes X and Y at the same time or very close together).
EDIT: Disabled textile because it was messing up some brackets.

Playable on the Flute if you ignore the interlude section. Fully playable on Harp and Horn, probably also playable on Bell but it will have slightly different values for the notes since 1 on the bell is the 2nd note in the scale and 1 on the other instruments is the first note in the scale.
EDIT: Yes, playable on bell, just move all notes down 1 (so the chorus’s first line would become 5 4567)

Putting yourself in melee range increases your risk, so you get more effective in exchange.
To fix the camera they have to entirely change how the game is rendered. There was a dev post months ago to this effect (basically, the game makes some assumptions based on the camera never being behind walls and such).
The camera is only an issue in a relatively limited number of places, and as such isn’t a high priority. At best I would hope for a 1st person camera mode where your character’s model is hidden from you.
For me, asura could be a back item. I feel so much hate toward rats
WoodenPotatoes gives a nice summary of what we know here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8Q9iAx_8Wk
Jump through the log on the left side to avoid the wallspikes. Move forward a bit (about to where the bauble is) and then stick to the right side until you reach the hole in the side. Move through the hole and from there, jump to the flower below the end of the log.
Next, turn around and look at the wall. You should see a spot where you can make a few jumps to climb up to the part with the large log. From there, continue as normal.

Jump through it like normal. You have to be exact and hit the door.
I’ve done it several times with exact accuracy and then saw three or so black die screens mixed with teleportation to inside.
How I did it is I jumped down from immediately above the door, and tried to fall as close to the waterfall as possible while still being able to land on the lilypad. If you do it right, the door should open as you’re falling so it’s fully open when you jump from the lilypad through the waterfall.
The range on it appears rather short, so it’s not amazingly useful (tested it on a known bombable wall). Saves on baubles though.
Is it too hard? Respect the awesome work

Perhaps instead of insisting on 3 zones per world, you break up your ideas into 4 or 5 zones? In future, at least.
I enjoyed most of World 2 (and zone 3 was refreshingly fun compared to some of the frustrating stuff in zone 2, including a bug where the second scale refused to be weighed down all the way), but it would be nice if zone 2 wasn’t zone 2, but instead zone 2 and zone 3, and zone 3 was zone 4.

It’s pretty easy, actually. There only appears to be one little melody verse.

A few of the notes (basically the same one every time that section of the song comes up) are not precisely correct but it sounds OK enough.
I’m afraid there are a significant number of accidentals in that song, Azurdrache. You can play the first part (0:00-0:39 in your video) and it will only sound slightly off, but everything else just has too many accidentals for it to sound right.
I’ll go ahead and post the first part just in case you still want to play that much.

Use a reflect on Liadri when she does her whip attacks that hit from a short range. Apparently they’re projectiles, because they reflect damage back on to her. In some cases, however, you will steal her whip and begin freaking out and attacking her with it. This disables your skills by repeatedly putting them on 1s cooldown, which often results in death.
Did I ever tell you how much I love you DouBLe? Because you’re pretty kitten fantastic for working these out.
EDIT: Managed to work the first bit out, but can’t get the rest to sound right. Doesn’t sound right just playing the same thing in a higher octave :/

I sort of got the whole thing. There aren’t enough octaves on the flute for the octave progression in the original song to work, though, and I’m not sure about the last bit.

Spec a power build with at least 20 in Inspiration for Warden’s Feedback (I was 20/20/0/30/0), and take Sword/Focus and whatever off set you want (GS for me). Utilities should be Feedback, Signet of Illusions, and Mimic.
To do this fight, put up Feedback on him at the start (feel free to start in your non-Sword/Focus weapon set and summon your phantasm from that set). He should shoot it and volley it which will do huge damage to himself. Run up to him, and attack him with your sword, but don’t waste Blurred Frenzy. After that, he should teleport away and headshot, so use Blurred Frenzy to dodge it.
Next, chuck a Warden phantasm on top of him to reflect his shots and volleys from his new position and make your way over to him to autoattack some more with sword. As you run up, press Sword 3 to spawn another illusion. When he teleports away, use your Distortion shatter to invuln the headshot. Drop a Temporal Curtain in front of him to reflect his next volley and use Mimic if you have to (it’s mostly a backup skill though, you may not need it). Dodge his next headshot with Blurred Frenzy again. Warden should be up by now, so use it on his new position, and use Signet of Illusions to refresh Distortion if you need to dodge another headshot (remember to spawn another clone with Sword 3 for longer duration).
He should kill himself by your second use of Distortion. If not, you have another Frenzy to dodge the next one and Temporal Curtain should be up to reflect the next volley.
Looks great.
One note though, you have Septette for the Dead Princess listed under “Various”. It should actually be under “Touhou”.
Is the flute’s lag the same as the horn, or is it fast like the bell? I enjoy playing my horn but it’s incredibly annoying for many songs having to tap in so many esc keys even especially during octave changes considering there is no ingame macro ability for music.
The flute has a ~1s channel time when you play the first note. Once that channel is over, you begin playing the note, and can then rapidly switch between notes for as long as you can play.
Currently, playing a note, and then pressing the key corresponding to that note again will stop that note, but you can immediately play other notes without having to do the channel again. This will be changed soon so that pressing 0 will stop playing the current note, and pressing a key twice in a row will just play that note twice (which will help a lot with faster songs with repeated notes).
If you don’t key a new note within a certain period of time (seems to be about 4 seconds) you stop playing and have to channel again to start playing.
Shame about Flowering Night and Dream Battle, do you think Fate of Sixty Years or Walking The Streets Of A Former Hell would work? Or maybe even Broken Moon?
Fate of Sixty Years is going to sound really slow on the flute. It should, in theory, be able to be played, though.

You could just make a thread with as much of the music as possible in the first post, and then make a bunch of posts following it to reserve space, so to speak, for the rest, and for any future songs. As far as I know, editing never expires, so to speak, so you could over time edit songs into those reserve posts.

Flowering Night won’t sound right, unfortunately.
Dream Battle just…doesn’t sound right on flute. There’s nothing explicitly stopping it from sounding right, like accidentals or not enough space on the flute octaves, it just doesn’t.
You would make really me really happy if someone could do following songs. It would fit just so perfectly for me.

Relm’s Theme (FF6)
Daryls Epitaph (FF6)
Forever Rachel (FF6)

Balamb Garden (FF8)Of course I would be already extremely happy if just one of them is translated to Flute-Notes.

Daryl’s Epitaph, Forever Rachel, and Balamb Garden have too many accidentals and don’t sound right without them.
Border Village Dali has a decent number of accidentals but surprisingly sounds OK to me when played straight. It’s not quite the same as the original song, but it still sounds pretty good.

In regards to Final Fantasy fanfare tracks, they’re all loaded with accidentals, so the flute won’t recreate them properly. If you need a victory theme, consider the Kirby one posted earlier in the thread, which I have in my list of songs.

Do you reckon Septette for Dead Princess or Candid Friend would be playable?
Septette has some accidentals that prevent parts from sounding right. Candid Friend I can’t make sound right (more specifically, the first bit sounds OK, but the second part just sounds wrong).

Can anyone transcribe this? This Irish Washerwoman
Would be awesome!
Here it is. Unfortunately, since we don’t have 3 octaves, we can’t do the second part exactly right (we get all the notes, but it’s not in the right octave in comparison to the first part).

Could anyone do sheets for “Will circle be unbroken”-Bioshock Infinite ost ?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0e4Crth_Hb8
Sure! This is the “full song”, that is, it includes directions to repeat when the song repeats and such. Some of the lines written out are also basically the same as previous lines but with slight timing differences, so I just wrote those out as well. There are probably still some duplicates but whatever.

Original (F major)
FGAB B | CBAG GSemitone down (E major)
E F#G#A# A# | B A#G#F# F#
Therein lies your issue. The original is actually
DEFG G | AGFE E
which makes it, in E Major
C#D#EF# F# | G#F#ED# D#
You shouldn’t be able to get a B natural without accidentals in this song because the key signature says to turn all Bs into B flats. That’s why you had an issue: B natural is an accidental for the key signature of your song, so transposing it to E Major means you’d need an accidental in E Major.
You may find this note reference helpful for determining what note corresponds to each location on the staff.
Keep in mind that the key signature changes notes. In your song, the key signature contains a flat on B, so every B shown on the staff in your song is actually a B flat unless noted otherwise via accidentals.
(edited by DouBLe.6084)
I can help with that. Here’s how I transcribed the Wind Waker Title Theme.
First, we begin with the sheet music. Looking at it, we see that it has no accidentals, so it’s a perfect candidate for the flute. Next, we see the key signature: two sharps. Google can easily reveal, to anyone who does not know key signatures, that the major key with 2 sharps is D. Thus, we have a song in the key of D Major that we want to change to be in E major, because the flute is in E Major.
Next, we must understand how the flute is laid out, which is as follows:
1 – E
2 – F#
3 – G#
4 – A
5 – B
6 – C#
7 – D#
8 – E
The flute is also split into two octaves, controlled by pressing 9 to swap between them.
Now, to transcribe a song from D Major to E Major, we have to figure out how many semitones apart the two scales are. Semitones can be thought of as the most immediately adjacent note on a piano keyboard. For example, the two semitones on either side of F are F# and E.
E Major is two semitones above D Major, and you can tell this by starting on a piano at D and counting the number of keys you have to move across to get to E from D. So, starting at D, I would go “D#, E”, which gives me two keys.
Now, looking back at the sheet music for the song I want to transcribe, all I have to do to transcribe the notes is to move any note up two semitones and find the corresponding note on the flute.
(It is important that you move each note UP two semitones, because E major is two semitones ABOVE D Major. We could also have found that E Major is 10 semitones “below” D Major, and transcribe to E Major by moving every note down 10 semitones, but moving up 2 semitones is much easier to do)
The first four notes of the song are, on the sheet music, D, E, D, A (more accurately, the first four notes that are part of the tune. The sheet music has full chords, but we can’t do that on our flute, so we just go with the notes that represent the tune, which are usually the highest notes of the chords).
Moving all of these notes two semitones up gives us
D -> D# -> E
E -> F -> F#
D -> D# -> E
A -> A# -> B
Referencing the flute’s button-to-note mapping, this gives us
E -> 1
F# -> 2
E -> 1
B -> 5
Now, taking into consideration the fact that, in the song, the E F# E is supposed to be followed by a lower B, I have to use the higher octave to play E F# E and the lower octave to play B.
So now we have
(1 2 1) 5
as the first four notes of the song. Move the rest of the notes up two semitones and match them to the buttons and compare them to my transcription.
EDIT: Make sure to share your transcriptions, we all want to expand our repertoires.

Sheet music is indeed very helpful, because then all you have to do is transpose it to E major and match the buttons to the notes. This theme in particular sounds great on the flute.

Do you reckon Chinese Tea would work? I’m wanting to get as many Touhou melodies nailed down as possible.
Not enough octaves on the flute, but this is what it WOULD be… (curly brackets represent an octave below the lowest on the flute)
Shanghai Teahouse ~ Chinese Tea theme:

EDIT: This means you could do this on the horn since it’s the same key but with 3 octaves.

Me and a friend managed to figure out the start to Crimson Belvedre ~ Eastern Dream but after that we’re stuck, if anyone could figure a bit more out I’d be very happy.
This is what we have so far;
(- means switch octave, start in the low one)2 4 6 5 4 3 2 1 2 2 4 6 5 4 3 – 1 – 6
and for those wondering its this theme;
I don’t think you’ll have too much luck with that. Crimson Belvedere’s key forces accidentals when transposed to the notes we have.
That said, the chorus is approximately this:
653 2 2 1 3 4
653 2 2 1 5 4
653 2 2 1 3 4
4568 (2 4 32 1 2)
Not entirely accurate, but it’s close and doesn’t sound too bad.

I’m pretty sure there IS a vertical limit, because I can’t make a portal from the ground floor of the Zephyr Sanctum to the peak of the crow’s nest, but I CAN make a portal from the ground floor to a point closer to the ground along the path to the crow’s nest (there being zero difference in the position of the portals aside from how far they are from each other vertically).
Yep, you can reach the top. I used some portals to refresh my jumps, but there might be a route that doesn’t require as many leaps as I used.

Troll’s End is the best example of what is wrong with jump puzzles in GW2. Not only is it best run as an Asura or with a potion, there are spots where you wind up standing on/jumping off of empty air in order to progress.
Someone at Anet seems to have the demented concept that these problems can be repackaged as “challenging” and that makes everything ok.
Except there are basically no camera problems with the new content, or at least I’ve run into none of it if there is (and I have ~45/52 of the sky crystals). You also get 3 skills that make jumping around significantly easier, and they’re flexible enough that if one angle gives you camera issues you can probably try from another angle and avoid them.
You’re absolutely right about Troll’s End being the worst that platforming in this game can offer, but the Bazaar is not Troll’s End, and Anet’s designers have taken feedback from their initial attempts at platforming into account and have designed all of their new puzzles starting with Super Adventure Box with camera issues in mind.

… you blast the poison field for weakness. Finishers proc from the oldest field.
Everyone seems not to understand that this is true. The finisher will trigger on the oldest initiator; a blast finisher will give Might instead of Healing if a water field overlaps an existing fire field. (the last sentence in the paragraph at the top that starts with “The combo finisher…”)
Go ahead and try it yourself with a friend who has some fields and finishers.
