Back before Heart of Thorns I completed the personal story for no reason other than getting rid of the personal story on my UI. Now, however, it’s come back, and isn’t even on the part where I was at, it’s on the chapter before the end.
Does anyone know what’s up with it, or how to fix it?
In case anyone doesn’t want to read the entire changelog and just wants the gist, I made this.
-Heart of Thorns comes with a level 80 booster pack
-Heart of Thorns is now easier, and gives more rewards
-Looking For Group is no longer terrible
-Daily achievements give 2 gold
-Dungeons have a repeatable achievement that gives 5 gold and 150 tokens for doing 8 unique paths
-Dungeons give more tokens, and all Aetherblade weapons drop much more frequently from the Clockheart chest
-New daily achievements, and HoT specific ones if you own the expansion. New jp, minidungeon, and dungeon dailies added. This is to encourage players to explore a wider variety of content
-Mistlock Instabilities are less annoying. For example, Boon Fumbler is replaced with Lethargic, -50% endurance regen.
-Fractals are spiced up
-A new legendary journey with a mini tiger spirit
-New raid lobby in Lion’s Arch so Verdant Brink can actually win
-Training arena
-World VS World no longer gives experience
-World VS World now gives Tomes of Knowledge
-World VS World now has reward tracks
-World VS World will have world linking, for fuller maps.
-World VS World now has purchasable auto-loot, and a few other things
-World VS World Borderlands has been updated
-Stability can only be removed every .75s instead of .5s
-More vendors in World VS World
-A lot of balance changes revolving around World VS World
-Squad and party changes for World VS World
-Combo fields look nice
-Ground targetting reticles are class specific now, for some reason
-Engineer is buffed, as mandated by the quota
-Other classes are changed, too
-Loading screen tips
-You can now have 11 shared inventory slots. One of them can only be obtained by purchasing Heart of Thorns. If you already had Heart of Thorns, you get it for free.
-Gem store items. Become the Lich King’s brother, Bird King.
-Black Lion Chest is changed up
-Added the ability to link items in chat, even though we already could
-Various small things I didn’t mention like no loading screens for respawn in pvp

I haven’t logged in yet today. So you guys mean this wasn’t already done? A tab wasn’t made or put aside for raid content in LFG? I feel like that should be integral to the design of raid content sine it is one of the core features of the expansion.
Heck an overhaul to the LFG tool would be nice. There is too much going on in the “Open World” category these days. Each map having its own LFG tab would be great.
As for Spirit Vale, can we please get a map for people to go into while they set up for raids that is not Verdant Brink please?
Yespls on that last part, and the employee I spoke to said it was designed for friends and guilds.
So in addition to all the other guild exclusivities, there’s these.
Oh my God, yes. Open world is just so cluttered and ugly, it definitely needs to be split like that.
I don’t know if there’s a suggestion forum, but I didn’t find one. I spoke with an ArenaNet employee in game briefly and he suggested I make a forum post, so I’ll paraphrase my conversation with him into this post. I’m writing this after my 3 hour attempt of a raid (1 hour looking for the initial people, an hour looking for 2 replacements, and an hour of failed attempts before everyone gave up and left), and while I didn’t get any loot out of the raid at all I still had fun.
LFG would be a great addition over Guilds and friends because it’s really hard to find people who will consistently do the same activity with you, and LFG would eliminate the need for that. I don’t have 9 friends that would do this with me, or a Guild, but I still want to be able to do the content that’s released without waiting hours beforehand doing nothing. Even if I did have 9 friends that would do this with me, they’d all have to be online at the same time AND want to raid. I’d probably need 30 or 40 friends to be able to probably raid whenever. It’s just a big hassle unless you’re in a big Guild. I’m pretty sure everyone wants LFG for raids, and my friends and I were disappointed it isn’t in.
And I also think kicking players, even if they’re offline, is restricted to Commanders? I, the person who started the party couldn’t kick but the person who spent 300 gold could kick.

buying gems with gold right after an expansion release was your first mistake. thinking you were gonna make a profit on keys was the second. complaining on the forums obnoxiously was the third. you seem to be asking to be told the obvious, question answered. try the wiki next time.
I didn’t complain or even buy the keys, I got the account jump start for 405 gold then made this post thinking it’s funny how useless keys are. You’re the only person who seems to be complaining here.
Gems are also at a low right now, and I never thought I’d make a profit on the keys that I didn’t pay for. You seem angry?
(edited by DrAntagonist.8623)
I used to buy keys waaay back in the day, but I stopped after my first few purchases never broke anywhere close to even with anything of any value… The only attractive thing they have going forthe boxes is the weapons scraps. But even that can be offset by grinding out a few hundred gold and buying what you want, vs buying the same amount of gems to buy keys..so….
185 gold can buy a skin, or you can open chests and get like half of a ticket.
As you only got 9 boosts out of 10 chests, i would submit a support ticket.
Unless you managed to mess up accurately displaying the loot table of 30 items but went to the forums to complain nonetheless.
In that case, you deserve those drops.Oh man you’re so right, because I didn’t capture a useless booster I’m a horrible human being, however could I forget a useless booster? Why that useless booster would’ve given me at least ten fold the key price. I’m not sure if I did get one or not, but it doesn’t matter because it’s just a booster.
If you expected to pay a price for a box and then sell the ingredients of that box for a higher price than the initial purchase price to other players who can buy the same box for the same price, then i hope the missing booster was an intelligence booster, as it would mean the 185g might not have been spent in vain after all.
You’re right the only two things you could open boxes for are ingredients to sell and boosters, you’re completely correct.

I assume these aren’t on purpose, but they might be. These are all Engineer related.
The gyros are incredibly stupid and bad at their job. The medic gyro and sneak gyro are bad at following you, stop frequently, and will be indecisive about who to go to, resulting in rarely getting health or stealth unless you’re completely stationary.
The bomb gyro is very bad at tracking moving targets and hardly ever gets to them in pvp.
The function gyro usually doesn’t finish people. I’ll watch it hover near them doing nothing until they bleed out.
Also, the hammer’s rocket charge will oftentimes send you off away from enemies unless you’re facing them when you use it.
Hehe. Well, despite it being funny to see map glitches and going out of map bounds I don’t see a reason for making this thread. The vid doesn’t show any bug or how anyone found a glitch on map to get out of bounds. The only thing I see is you guys fooling ppl on map chat telling about a boss on the bottom of map.
If it was meant to show there is a glitch that can take players to out of map bounds it could be better to show where it is. There is even a thread for map glitches and stuff. I don’t mean to be annoying or anything (I even think the vid funny), I just don’t see what it has to do with Game Bugs forum.
The map one says for textures or getting stuck inside of objects. The glitches are being able to be alive on the bottom of the map, and the boss not being on the bottom of the map, I totally thought he would be there. To elaborate: you can sometimes fall through the map randomly, and if you use a revive orb you can just walk around. I’m not sure what should or shouldn’t be on the bugs forum, but this seems more important than 200 people screaming “THE WUMYN DUS NOT PUT HER ARKSMS UP! PERSOINAL ATAK! PERSONAL ATAK!”.
You just gotta jiggle the 32k.
The second video demonstrates how miniatures act, because they don’t have pathing, or something.
What you are saying: “Why is the UI so bad?”
What you mean: “I personally don’t like these things about the UI.”Learn to say things the way they are, and someone might actually listen. Personally, I’ve never had any issues with the UI. I quite like it.
Yes, because not having mandatory information to maximize efficiency, always having unnecessary text clogging the screen, and having unnecessary clog constantly is an opinion. If you would read the post before replying, you would see how flawed it is.
Change some of them in your Options window, if you so desire.
Good luck.
Because you totally can. Here, let me just enable godmode in the options setting, while I’m at it.
Why should I always have Personal Story clogging up my screen?
Why should I always know the events? Why should I be notified 100% of play, that it is, infact, Halloween?
Why do I have to have achievements in only percentages (2/10 10%, or just 2/10)?
Why is there an Edit Account button if it only opens a webpage?
Why does the Black Lion Trade always show the same symbol whether it’s 1 copper, 50 gold, an item, or a combination?
Why can I never determine the effectiveness of scaled attacks such as Blowtorch(changing the red out-of-range bar’s colours depending on damage would work fine)?
Why is there so much empty room for currencies, and only Gold and no-one-gives-a-kitten? Why are there no Laurels, or Karma, or something actually used?
Why is there no automatic salvaging (of rarity, can use, etc.)?
Why must Black Lion always default to Gemstore?
Why does ArenaNet remove unachieveable achievements, but keep the bag slot lock there forever?
Why is there no way to fix the spam of events that clogs the entire screen?
Why is there no auto-loot?
Why do certain abilities (Such as Counter-Strike) not show when in range?
Why can I not change the new-pointer’s direction to be NSWE instead of camera?
Why is there no ‘never pick up junk’ option, or ‘delete all junk’ option?
Why does hitting escape cancel moving? Hitting anything cancels moving, why can’t I change my options while autorunning?
Yeah, exactly. I thought you were morons because I was sure the title explained it, and you thought I was a moron because the title was a sentence from the thread. It’s not my fault, it’s not your fault, it’s random admin’s fault.
So, the title is suddenly just as confusing as your rant to “read the title dumbkitty”.
I don’t know if that’s ironic, or if irony needs to be redefined again.
An admin changed it, for no reason. And in the admin’s doing so, started an argument.
Fair enough, I suppose it is your right to self-define.
Self-define what? You aren’t even making any sense.
And self-demonstrating too! Excellent.
No you legitimately don’t make any sense. You can’t read basic English and you can’t speak it either, then you make a big fuss when people don’t understand your random cacophony of words.
Fair enough, I suppose it is your right to self-define.
Self-define what? You aren’t even making any sense.
I’m guessing the OP did the same thing I tried – dodge roll into the center of the training circle and then just switch auto-run on so you’re constantly hitting the red ring and don’t dodge at all to see what happens.
When I tried it though I got bounced around a lot and eventually it threw me out of the outer circle and my character started running off.
No, I did it on the outer ring and I rolled into the middle ring at the end so that the person who was trying to stop me from dying wouldn’t be in the screenshot, but they still followed me.
It’s much easier to die via falling damage quicker than 20 minutes. All you need to do is go east of Divinity’s Reach into the Shaemoor graveyard and climb the fence to drop down that cliff.
Also possible to die quickly if you go out of the Black Citadel to Barradin’s Tomb. Almost as quick.
Last, but not least, it is incredibly simple to die in Rata Sum via falling down the central infinite pit. Probably within ten minutes if you skip all cutscenes and dialogue.
. . . okay, level with me, because I’m not getting it. What’s the point here?
Because reading titles is hard.
If he hasn’t chosen a server, he doesn’t have to pay anything to pick one. And if he does pick one and just plays a character for a little bit before catching JQ while they’re open, he can just delete that character and switch servers for free.
But do like I suggested and keep an eye on the server list at non-peak playing times (such as overnight or very early morning).
Yes, of course he can pick for free, he’s been waiting three months for it to be open. But, can the character be any level and if he deletes it he can move for free?
How much leveling? Because he hasn’t even chosen a server yet, he hasn’t even seen what the game looks like/
Hello my dearest friends (except for you, Jeffrey, get out of here),
My even more dearest friend has been waiting to play Guild Wars 2 for the past three months. That’s a long time, by the way.
It’s been installed on his computer the entire time, and Jade Quarry has not been opening up. We do not want him to waste the cost of the game to transfer when it opens up in the year of 2027000, but he really wants to play.
So, non-Jeffreys, do you think that Jade Quarry will open soon, or Arena Net rethinks their egregious payment plan?
It took me twenty minutes to successfully die.
I purchased two bag slots because I thought they were account based, I used them both, and then when I went on my Warrior I didn’t have them. Is there any way that I could have the two bag slots removed on my level 80 Engineer and instead be given the 100 gems and a character slot expansion the sale would’ve given me? I don’t think anyone will see this before the sale ends.
If anyone doesn’t know already, you play it exactly like Phoenix Wright. First, you go around asking questions, then you accuse the accused and press when you think they’re lying. Kasmeer even points when she makes her rebuttal at the end.
1. Waypoint costs are so minimal… I don’t understand why it bothers you? I have a relatively crappy computer as well and the loading screens take forever. I would so rather maximize my gameplay time (even minimally) at the cost of fake currency.
2. I don’t care for rearranging my icons because I have keybinds to open all of my important tabs. To improve upon your suggestion, I’d like if there were two different icons for ‘you have items available for pickup’ and ‘you have money available for pickup.’
4. I want this to become a thing simply because I accidentally unlocked three (!!!) ascended recipes on the wrong character the other day. Kicking myself in the kitten .
5. I remember shortly after I purchased the game, ANet had implemented a trial weekend. It would be nice to see more of those.
6. As I said earlier, my computer is crappy and my load screens take forever, too. When I go into WvW, I turn my graphics down every time. No offense, but it’s not that difficult to change your settings and I do hope you’re not too lazy to be willing to do this each time. I go into WvW every single day, so I am swapping my settings back and forth often. It’s not that big of a deal. Shrug.
7. This suggestion is bad. If I wanted this, I would go play The Sims.
8. Pretty sure you can use the upgrade extractor on karma items.
9. You should know what buffs you’re giving people when you use the skill. If they’re in party, you can see your party members’ buffs in the UI. Having this feature would be super clunky and ugly and unnecessary imo.Just my onion tho.
I’m surprised you didn’t get #7 was a joke, and #9 would be a graphical option (read: toggleable) where the icon would scroll up and fade out, or something. And you obviously have a higher threshold for bs patience. Also, almost all of Engineer’s team buffs are random, and you could use a 250 gem Upgrade Extractor for low level Sigils? That makes no sense. If you’re starting the game out and have no moni, the best Sigils you have are 2 Silver.

I could not find any suggestion forum, so I assume this was the best location. Please inform me if I am incorrect with that.
Welcome to the personal suggestion thread I created from playing this game nonstop since I got it two weeks ago, and let me start off by saying this is hands down the best MMO I have ever played. That being said, I’ve noticed some things that could be improved upon, and I’m making this thread to get some opinions on my ideas.
1. Waypoint cost not increasing through warps.
For a few examples, if I’m in Lion’s Arch and I want to go to Rata Sum, it costs me (currently) about 2 silver, when if I warp to the Lion’s Arch portal hub, then walk to the Rata Sum portal, and then warp to the desired waypoint, that costs me nothing, except three loading screens. Same with waypoints on the direct other side of gates to new zones. My suggestion is to make the cost static based on any of these criteria:
1) Waypoint is directly adjacent to portal near other waypoint.
2) Waypoint is in a major city further from a different one. (Going from Metrica Province to Lion’s Arch would cost the same as going to Rata Sum)
3) Waypoint is in a different city than the one you are in (no cost)
This wouldn’t be that big of a deal, except my computer isn’t that good and the loading screens can take awhile sometimes, and I’m rather impatient.
2. Customizable HUD.
Basic things, such as rearranging the icons of your action bar, rearranging the currency order (Making Gems under Laurels, stuff like that), and most importantly, setting options for the Black Lion Trading Company alerts, such as only show an alert when I have X coins to pick up, or showing a preview of how much I have, perhaps in a partially filled coin, or a coin with a number by it.
Examples shown in attachment. Left would be either 1 gold to 1.99 gold, or to the nearest round. Right would be 50 silver. Excuse the sloppiness, I made it in about 2 minutes.
3. Removal of repair mechanics.
I understand that it used to be necessary to take money out of the economy, but why is it still here? It’s really more of a tedium than anything else, and if it was removed, all the repair canisters could switch to a different consumable, such as the revival orb.
4. Recipes being account wide instead of character.
If I go to the Festival of the Four Winds and purchase a unique recipe, only to later figure out “I don’t like playing as a Necromancer”, then I have to wait a year before I can acquire this recipe again.
5. Refer-a-Friend
I was unable to find any information on this, other than what appears to be a temporary period of a free game. I’m already telling all of my friends about this game, and small rewards to them and I would prove incentive for them to join.
6. Advanced graphics and performance options
As said earlier, I don’t have the best computer, but I can run the game fine. That is, until I go into World VS. World and there’s a zerg. It would be nice to be able to toggle things, such as “On entering WvW, x is lowered from z to y”, and more options to improve performance.
7. Simulation
Guild Wars needs more of a simulation aspect to it. The cityfolk keep talking about how it’s a dangerous time to be travelling, and you know what? They’re right. I want to live an uneventful life in a village, and when it’s attacked you would cower from the invaders while other players defended the village. Instead of making money from doing dungeons and acquiring items, you would make a living by planting crops and waiting a couple months for them to grow. Instead of armour conditions like “+7 power” you would have “+7 comfort” or “+12 warmth”. Eventually after a very long time of hard work, you would finally get the Legendary Field Plow.
8. Salvaging un-salvagable items for only upgrades
If I have a Karma item that I no longer need because I have leveled past it or found a better one, I would like to be able to salvage it to only receive the upgrades I put on it, and no materials, to avoid the obvious influx of easily-acquired materials.
9.
Having an option to add more things, such as showing what buffs you give people, useful for throwing elixrs.
Example shown in attachments as a 20 second Photoshop.
Also, more hotkeys, like to the Achievments tab instead of just Hero.
Also, a “Salvage all but better” and “Salvage all unequippable” button would be nice.
Any feedback is appreciated, but please be polite.
