hey irenio, thank you for posting the changes that have been made so far
they look great!

could you take a look into changing the source of the damage of the gyros ?
at the moment the elite gyro reveals the scrapper when it explodes because the explosion does damage.
maybe it gives scrapper a better feel if gyros cant destealth him, especialy when you think about elexier s
gyros could be treated same as mesmer clones – they dont reveal the mesmer when they do damage

Stealth gyro, as many have pointed out, has several issues with pathing, priorities and movement speed. I think an easy fix would be to have it “insta-cast” a buff on the engineer from range that gives him an aoe stealth effect. This would keep the stealth aoe centered on the engineer and not on the buggy pathing gyro. You could limit its casting range to whatever seemed to work to avoid it simply become Mass Invis 2

also it shouldnt reveal the player when it gets destroyed ( because it does damage when it explodes), a good solution to this, is to make the gyros be the source of the damage, and not the scrapper(same as mesmer clones).

the elite gyro that stealths makes you visible when it gets killed and explodes, because the explosion does damage. that is realy annoying and counterproductive for pvp.

is it possible that the elite gyro doesnt do damage when it gets killed ?

or alternatively, have gyros deal the hit like a mesmer clone would instead of the hit’s “source” being the engi. because its an ok assumption that gyros play nice with other gyros, but when you take sneak you dont want med or bulwark gyros revealing you either and its a disincentive to take more than sneak gyro. conversely, traits make you want to take more gyros by adding super speed and fields.

i like your idea. thats a realy good solution to the problem.

Assuming that they’re big enough to have 15vs15 / 20vs20 or even bigger fights.
And judging from what we’ve seen so far, they’re not.

even if the os stays a good place to gvg, i have to say that this isnt the single purpose of this map. at the moment the map gets almost only used for duells and gvgs, but i miss the original purpose of the map, as it was at the start of the game : a wvw style jumping puzzle arena.

Or guilds forcing you to pay them 20g to let you through. Hell yeah.

well, there has to be some competition… its wvw afterall.

could you make the obsidian sanctum reward more interesting for players ? currently almost noone does it, yet it has its own wvw map.

and after the guildhalls there wont be anyone even in the gvg arena.

It’s like it was rushed away for the patch…

yep, i think we deserve a rework or improvment of the animation.
a lot of us have played hundreds of hours to get that finisher
and now it looks like its rushed and unfinished.

the bolts shoot out of its forehead and not its mouth.

could we please get a fix on that ?

also the dragon stomp looks not as good as i should depending on the light
in the area!
also the color is just grey, the blue lightning parts are nice but the grey just looks
as its the base model. maybe give it more structure or change the color of the dragon
skin ?

i think duelling in open world is indeed toxic.

if you always see people fighting you dont feel the big band anymore that connects
us all, we all fight against something and if we fight against each other we loose
the feeling of building an alliance and community.

if the duells are in a place where noone execpt the players who want to fight
or who want to watch someone duelling can see it its good for everyone.

what i would surgest is that we get a pve/wvw duellin arena in that you can invite
someone.

i like duelling but i dont like it in pvp because the numbers and builds and
the space you have are different in pvp.
in pve/wvw i have more room for my play and the damage numbers are different.
thats why i would like to see pve/wvw duelling arenas in that you have a lot of space
and your pve/wvw equip.

just for example:

in the charr main city there is a big arena, if we could go there and sign up for a duell and then duell there that would be great.

there are a lot of other places where this could be implemented, so there will always be “different” arenas, some with some high and low parts, some with obstractions, some without . and you could watch the duell from above the arena and cheer for the duells.

you could even do duell turnaments, 8 players sign up and the best gets a little price .

i would like to see that they add extra tokens or something so that you can obtain the fraktalweapons skins more reliable.

Problem :

I’ve heared that the drop chanze of fractal weapons was like 20% before they changed the lv cap to lv 50. but thats still realy low if you are only out for a special weaponskin, i explain why. there are like 15 different weapon types and lets say you want the fraktal sword skin, now you run fraktals and you only have a chanze of 1/5 to even get a weaponskin and then >again< 1/5 * 1/15 to get the skin you want , thats about 1% to get the weapon you want and that is in > the old systhem< . in the new systhem the chanze of getting a fraktal weapon skin is 5%. so for the math its 1/20*1/15 and thats like 0,3%. theoreticaly this would mean that you have to do 300 >full< fraktals to get the weaponskin you want. assuming you need about 2h for each full fraktal run you need about 600 hours just to get the weapon and thats only the math, in reality you could be unlucky and may need to do 400 fraktals or even more.

Solution:

there should be a more reliable systhem of geting the skin you want, it should still be challanging and difficult but not like pure grind and luck. one solution would be to add vendors for fraktal weapons and you could buy them from tokens, or to higher the chanze of getting a fraktal weapon to about 20-30% . i know there are plans for implementing a fraktal container from which you can choose the fraktalweapon you want. this is a great concept if the drop rate for it isnt too low: if you put a lot of efffort in getting to lv 50 fraktals and then the chanze of getting one fraktalweaponcontainer is only 2% you feel realy cheated on because you already put so much effort in reaching the high lv and now you have to grind more to get the container. a reasonably chanze of getting one container would be like 10-15% chanze at high lv.

Topic Title: Updates to Fractal Currency and items

Goal: Make fractal currency viable again.

Proposal Overview: Allow fractal tokens to be used for a variety of ascended related items.

Proposal Details: Since launch, there have been no significant changes to what can be obtained from Buy-4373. At the same time, Ascended gear, arguably, has its main use in Fractals of the mists. Currently many of our hardcore fractal players are sitting on tens of thousands of relics and hundreds of rings. Thus, we should add support for the fractal currency to acquire new items from Buy-4373. In addition we should add a new vendor which would allow us to exchange items. The amounts listed below are for demonstration purposes:

Add New Items to the Fractal Vendor

  • Amulets – 2000 fractal Relics
  • Earrings/trinkets – 1900 Fractal Relics
  • Dragonite ore – 5 Fractal Relics
  • Bloodstone Dust – 5 Fractal Relics
  • Empyreal Fragments – 5 Fractal Relics
  • Add a simple white 20 slot bag to the vendor – 100 Fractal Relics
  • Add Fractal Weapon Boxes to the vendor. – 5000 Fractal Relics
  • Add the Fractal Tonic to the Vendor – 15000 Fractal Relics
  • Add Fine infusions to the Vendor. – 3500 Fractal Relics

Add a Currency Exchange Vendor to Fractals.

  • Fractal tokens for laurels. 100 Fractal Relics for 1 Laurel
  • Fractal tokens for Karma jugs. 1 Fractal Relics per 10 Karma Point. A Jug of 6000 Karma = 600 relics.
  • Fractal tokens for Guild Influence. 1 Fractal Relic per 10 Influence pts.
  • Ring Exchange: 3 Rings for 1.
  • Ring Exchange: 1 Ring for 5 Pristine Fractal Relics.

Goal of the Proposal:
While other parts of the game have been updated, the fractal currency has fallen behind. Currently, and without much sense, you cannot acquire ascended related materials in the place where it matters most: Fractals of the Mists. We are in need of a change that will add support to our existing currency by expanding its base, while at the same time introducing a mechanism to exchange fractal currency into other types of in game currency.

Big +1 from me on this.

Perhaps some of the agony infusions could be added as well. Example: a +6 for whatever appropriate cost, since combining +1s all the way up really gets absurd at higher numbers.

this numbers for fraktal tonic and weaponkontainer are way to high.

fraktalweaponcontainer 3000 and tonic 5000 should be more than enough !

I went through the Dredge Fractal during this update, my team encountered no issues. In fact, that felt like one of the fastest Fractals I’ve completed, which is unusual because I always felt this Fractal was a bit long.
We discovered the buttons don’t allow dead bodies to keep them pressed, which I feel is fantastic. I abhor skipping and teammates operating like it’s open world, I usually refuse to stand on a button because no one will help me.

Valkyrie gear ( power vita critdamage ) is the best choice if u wanna do good damage and still have good survability . You can’t stay infight as long as with toughness gear but vitality is the best stat for surviving burst and conditions. Obviously on a build that has high healing e.g. guardians and elementalist there isnt realy a need for that gear because in this case something with toughness would be better because it scales better with the healing , but for the case that you want to do high crits and survive burst e.g on a mesmer shatter or thief build, its the best statcombo u can run. Sadly there is only “half”-valkyrie gear sold by the vendors. The stats are : power precision and critdamage and the additional stats: power vitality critdamage. I can’t understand why arenanet made this gear … the only differenz to a berserker piece is that 18 prezision are traded for 18 vitality… . Am I realy supposed to buy a piece of that ONLY because of 18 vitality differenz to a berserker piece ??

In my eyes there is a huge need for ascendant Valkyrie gear because its simply the best stat-combo to do high damage and still have decent survability.

btw it’s realy good with special trades. I give u an example : when u put 30 points in the precision/critdamage trade tree as a thief u can choose the traid “100% chanze on crit when you are invisible” . u can pritty much build and play arround this trade and its realy effectiv. but that was just an example.

So what do u guys think ?
