Having the exact same issue Bee. Canach bugs out at 25%, Pale tree bugs out at the rift. I was able to get to the main fight when in a party and it wasn’t my story instance. But due to gliding issues (and only the story starter being able to complete) we failed that attempt. Hopefully they fix this soon, otherwise your best bet is to try various parties and hope for the best. (I play a MM necromancer if that gives any clues)
For those using time converters, Heart of Thorns releases at 12:01AM PDT, not PST, October 23, 2015.
@Pompeia, here’s the quote:
Tonight, October 22, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Pacific Time (UTC-7) and running until October 23 at 12:30 a.m. Pacific Time (UTC-7), we’ll be counting down the final hours until the expansion launches.
They will be streaming for five and one half hours.
Another example of Daylight Savings time ruining lives…. can we get rid of it yet? Thanks for the correction Inculpatus
Here is a forum link discussing this, but it’s pretty much all guesses and educated speculation.
Sorry, I misunderstood.
I don’t know if we’ve got any type of official word, but from my understanding most of the content has already been loaded inside the client, so I wouldn’t expect a huge update. Probably just a bit bigger than a normal patch, but that may just be my wishful thinking, based on nothing at all.
It’s PST, UTC -7. That time zone is where ArenaNet is based.
Here is a link to the livestream countdown.

It’s been stated that it will go live at 12:01 am PST. So in about 10.5 hours from now. Too lazy to look up the official post beside the livestream link they just published.
City of Heroes did this with it’s mission builder and it went very well. Probably wouldn’t be TOO hard to implement overall. City of Heroes managed to get oodles of content for free. It’s a really good idea if implemented right. Here is a link to describing how COH implemented the Mission Architect.
I have no idea, and I’m sorry, but that’s hilarious.
I know right? Ironic. I’d be laughing quite a bit more about it, if it wasn’t so frustrating.
Ok, does anyone know how to get the hint for the hint panel? That’s the only one I’m missing. Sort of sad really.
That would be a nightmare to implement, and ripe for abuse. For instance, I would try to join a team where everyone else was running lvl 2, and I was running lvl 45-50. I would stand back and let them do the (much easier) heavy lifting while I reap lvl 50 rewards.

Probably wasn’t a case of jumping, rather a different team working on it. I imagine the technical team is a different group of people than the teams for verification of account issues, fraud, etc. In any event, I’m sure they are working as hard as they can.

Sorry for all the posts, but I wanted to post a final solution in case anyone else has this issue.
The root cause was a full system crash while waiting for email authentication. This corrupted many files that were not stored in the install directory and not removed by an uninstall. These files were saved in the My Documents\Guild Wars 2 folder. Manually removing these files allowed everything to function normally again.

Just wanted to update this. The root cause of my ticket being marked as a duplicate was a ticket I had on a unrelated issue. I totally understand the desire to work one issue at a time. That being said, I would like to give support a well deserved Kudos.
It can be really difficult working support for a game like this. I see lots of venom being tossed at them. While we all get frustrated (myself included) it quickly becomes obvious that they are working quite hard to resolve things as fast as possible. I created a ticket this morning, and they were able to get me back into the game in time to get my Halloween achievements. I work with computers every day, and offer complicated support to people on all manner of issues, and they were still able to have me try something I had not thought of.
While I’m still having the launcher issues, I’m sure that it’s some oddity with my machine and the way GW2 works. As such, I can’t blame them, and I’m sure that support will assist me as best as they can with the massive workload and time constraints that they have. For that, even if this issue never is fully resolved, I thank them.

I’ve been having odd issues with the new launcher since Beta. The launcher will hard lock my computer. I can normally get into the game, as the hard lock happens randomly, and I will often be into the game before it occurs. I have to use the -nopatchUI option for large patches though. The old launcher didn’t have this problem, and it never occurs if patcher UI isn’t up.
I made a ticket about this some time ago. Ticket 121002-000538. This ticket was closed. I recently made a new ticket about it (since I am unable to add to or modify the old ticket), New ticket is 121031-002067. The new ticket has been marked as a duplicate ticket twice. Now, while it IS technically a duplicate, how should I go about getting this issue worked on?

Still looking into why this happened, but Guild Wars support was able to come through in record time with a work around. Something must have gotten corrupt on the user level, because making a new Windows user with admin permissions and running the client on that new user seems to let me in.
I would like to fix the current user however, if anyone has any insight…

It looks like at least one other person (in France) had the same issue at one point, sadly no solution posted though.

That was my first thought. If there are files left behind, they aren’t in the installation directory. I did a windows uninstall, then removed the entire directory. Same error. The -repair option also gives the same error.
The error pops up when the game starts to check for updates. It leaves a gw2.dat file of 1 kb. I even did a clean installation of the latest video drivers, thinking that something might be off there. No help.

Currently I am locked out of the game. After a crash I can’t seem to get into Guild Wars 2 at all. Even uninstalling and reinstalling the client doesn’t help. The crash was caused by the launcher. If I don’t get out of the launcher (and into the game) quick enough it hard locks the machine. I’ve made a support ticket about that, but I have a work around for large patches and reinstalls with the -nopatchUI option.
In any event, this time I was stuck on the launcher as it was asking me to verify my ipaddress email. While doing that the system locked up. I restarted, and the client crashed when I ran it. I uninstalled Guild Wars 2, re downloaded the client and reinstalled in a different location, and the client crashes when it starts checking for updates. Here is the text of that crash:
