Those of us that were in the beta (or the early access, I can’t rightly remember) got a baseball cap. The wardrobe change made these disappear.
Are we ever going to get these back? It would actually look pretty good on my Sylvari, who’s set up to have a very modern punk-ish kind of look.
Making wp cost relate to your lvl?
It does that, though…
Hold the line!
Sigh
Why the hell do you have 21 characters? There are 8 classes.
You can take one booster, and turn it into another.
Here’s an idea:
Have a few stockpiles with items that can be picked up. Picking up these items replaces your weapon skills with finishers. Kind of like how picking up a fireworks pack gives you skills 1-2-3 for different fireworks, but instead we could just have the finishers. You play around with it a bit, see what the finishers look like, and then can buy one later. There’s no worry about actually giving anyone limited-use things.
I wish a dev would see this.
I like skirts. I’ve always liked them, I almost exclusively wear them, and most of my characters in-game wear them.
I like long flowy things, I like short and poofy things, I like ruffles, I like tiers, I like lace and chiffon.
My Elementalist carries two sets. She has her PVT gear, which is elegant and pretty, and shows barely any skin at all. She also has her Berserker gear, which I deliberately made as revealing though adorable as possible, just for the heck of looking almost like a schoolgirl.
I like the freedom we get. I can deck her out in spikes and scary things, I can make her have long elegant dresses, I can make her look like a teenaged prostitute. It’s my decision, and ANet lets me make it.
So in short, I think that skimpy outfits are fine. I think that having only skimpy outfits isn’t, though, because it restricts us too much. It’s not a question of morality for me. It’s a question of expression.
All that does is change the file format to something uncompressed, versus something that is compressed and therefore loses detail. This isn’t what I’m talking about, though.
Back in beta, we could take high-resolution screenshots that would quadruple our current resolution. If you were playing at 1920×1080 (typical 1080p), your screenshot would be produced at 7680×4320. It wasn’t simply upscaling, either. The game engine was temporarily set to run a massive internal resolution to produce that frame.
I enjoyed doing this to make cool panoramic shots of the game. I could cut down one of these massive images and turn it into a dual-screen wallpaper.
The feature kind of just disappeared between beta and live, and I don’t remember anyone from ArenaNet ever mentioning it. I feel like I was the only person who even knew about it :’(
I was going through my old screenshots from back in beta, and I uncovered some of my high-res, 7680×4320 screenshots, and they look wonderful. I took a look through the options, only to discover that this option no longer exists.
Why was it removed? I know that there were issues with overlays and full conversational cutscenes tiling, but otherwise it was an awesome feature. I’m sure that at least the overlays issue could be corrected fairly easily (like the borders around the screen when you’re under water, or being attacked) and just disable it for cutscenes or something.
Aww, thanks, guys. =^_^=
I’ve always been big on WvW. I just felt like checking out EotM, and happened to get there just as the current commander was leaving. Nobody was stepping up, so I said I wouldn’t mind giving it a go, even if I didn’t know it all that well. The mob was actually quite understanding and supporting, and it’s to them I owe thanks.
This week is wild for me but once things calm down I’ll mostly be hanging out in WvW again, leading hit squads and the likes.
Also, most everyone really enjoyed the giant fights!
This is why I made sure to get a keyboard with macro support. I press a button, and it just spams left click.
You could probably use AutoHotKey to do the same, but I’m honestly not sure if ANet would get mad at us for it. Then again, they probably wouldn’t want people unable to play their game thanks to index finger injuries, either!
Eh? Not sure what you’re trying to say there.
Sure! We had a good handful of huge fights, and all of them (except one Keep attack) were our victories!
If you hadn’t guessed, I’m her. It was my first time running as commander, in a part of the game I wasn’t all that familiar with, but you guys stuck with me and we ended up having some great fights, and pulled ahead to have an overwhelming win!
Thanks for being awesome, everyone. I can’t wait to get out there with you guys again!
I understand the need for diversity in our weapon and armour upgrades and all, but I have yet to meet someone who actually uses medallions.
Why do they even exist, when they’re so blatantly overshadowed by runes and sigils? Those drops could be something useful, instead.
I just got hit with this crash, as well. I’m having a hard enough time just getting into the game (it seems that having XSplit running now makes it impossible to launch GW2) and once I finally got in, I figured I’d map out some of the Eastern Borderlands.
Then I got hit with:
Assertion: Model 0×07cfca: Bad bone constraint transform on bone(bone:blade15), flags(94), animated(false)
How’s your internet connection faring? When there are a ton of people on the screen at once, that’s a whole lot of data that gets transferred between you and the servers. It takes a lot of work to sort through that and then render it.
When you start getting packets late, the game has to wait for them before updating. This can cause extra slowdown as well.
Also, I’m running an i7-920 at 2.8Ghz with two ATI 5770s in CrossFire and I usually hover at like 35+ FPS in those huge fights.
