It would not deter future buyers because the buyers are now only prevented from participating in pvp (which they did not participate in previously), they are pve-ers. In no way was their regular routine game play affected (aka pve and some wvw for pips). Slap on the wrist for the pve-ers. But better that something was done as opposed to nothing at all.
They were both bad decisions….in order to punish the 10%(maybe even less) of population that is abusing the system, you dont make changes that gonna ruin the experience for the 90%.
You might not be aware of it, but theres a bug with the outnumbered buff right now, some people wont get it, no matter how much they participate or for how long they play on the map…that means you dont get the extra pips, get damage on armor and still give war score to the enemy…
And why the outnumbered have to be changed anyway…if someone is farming this stuff its not like he is harming the other players…If someone is farming pips on a queued map i can see why people would bother(its not really a effective farm unless you are a high rank, but thats not point anyway…). But on a map that allmost nobody is playing….i dont see why people care.
People asked for change(me included) for the Outnumbered, but to be spread out between the other stuff, like Rank and World place…again Anet make changes that nobody asked for and punish their playerbase, but i guess after playing this game for 5 years i should be used to this unprofessional behavior from Anet.
I agree, there should be no class switching after you queue up.
I think you should be able to adjust your build as you wait for the match to begin but not swap.
Gw2 did take a different direction with HoT. Some good, some bad, some disastrous. HoT maps were good, for example. Yeah, they’re tougher than normal level 80 maps, but that’s fine. I don’t mind the extra challenge. Others won’t mind it either. Maps are core to this game. Players will eventually be accustomed to them.
However, I always thought raids were a bad idea. There’s just no way anyone can expect to keep players if you make content for 1% of the playerbase. I’m not against group content, I’m against group content being inaccessible to the majority.
Looking back, I have to ask: Why was the dungeon team disbanded? It saddens me that dungeon content is non-existent. Yes, at least we have fractals, but…why not dungeons too?
I’m curious about the next expansion, but I will tell you I am NOT gung-ho about it like I was with HoT. Thanks to HoT, pvp and wvw have all but been destroyed.
We all have our favorites, but the Kittenizer™ has been with us for years, and I’m not sure we’re willing to move up to the Skritt-o-Matic 2000 quite yet.
You forgot to mention the fact that Kralle and I were taking turn 1v2ing far for half the game and winning most of them while simultaneously typing out instructions that should have been common senses to made that comeback happen. Now that I skimmed thru your revs plays I finally understand why did we even got put in that situation to begin with. It cool that you got that kitten on VoD but next time title should be “Keep your head up cuz don’t worry you will get carry”
