We farmed the leaderboard last season and got #1 in the end. The reward was so bad it is not worth to q as a team at all, therefore no pro league team cares for that.
It´s all about incentive.
Indeed, the Proleague teams have no special purpose for leaderboard.
Hence, the leaderboard is the only way to be eligible for the Cllanger Cup.

that’s the basis of a strictely competitive game : when one win, one loose.
If you earn a pip cause you loose 450-500 and the other team win a pip too … thers no wining gain, or loosing punition, so win or loose in nothing, the game has not sense at far.

- destroying a “team” means the enemy team is in party.
- “destroying” a team in saphire isn’t a big deal
- destroying a team doesn’t mean win 500-1xx

I think the main problem here is that in theory it sounds pretty fun and amazing. But in practise its going to be veeery infuriating. Some classes simply perform soo much better in a 2v2 scenario. I’ll give just one example, double elementalist. Imagine you have to play vs something like a double elementalist, they constantly heal eachother, give invuls & blocks/reflects. There will always be broken setups that people will abuse. (Look at WoW 2v2 arena). You know what, they might not even be able to kill you, but you sure as hell wont kill them either.
IF you make a deathmatch styled gamemode, it has to be 3v3 as this is the easiest to balance, and even then i fear it might just not be very fun due to a few classes being OP beyond belief in this type of format.
2 Elementalists will never take over the node.
ON other hand, if you engage a node handed by 2 elementalists, you’re pretty stupid.
This game mode provide this kind of cancer by the fact the purpose isn’t to kill foes, but take node and prevent opponent to take ’em
All is about the difference between skillcap and mastering.

Ele was hard, cause to use it at it plain potential you have to use weapon skills in a very calculated way.
But against medium level team, the skillcap to be effective with your ele was medium too (considering, lineback skills which demand parcimony).
It was a very rich gameplay based class before hot (and burning up)
Why is it people think fresh air builds are all about dps? I never understood that.
Don’t know, maybe cause of Marauder Amy, offensives runes, no mobility, poor and long CD defensive spells, whole damage designed trait and CC burst opening ?
But please, telle me how a fresh air could be built out of damage basis ?

Playing Fresh air with that condi-based balance is some kind of suicide imo.
Ele is the only class where “core traits” (Arcane based on attunement swap) don’t match with specialisation (Tempest, based on “I don’t swap because overload”)
That’s a pretty good design imho, despite specialization is boring as hell.
a bad thief with d/P is a living-instant-5pts-target, regardless of all the damage enhancement you can do on AA.
Yay, i bring back my Fresh Air ! Heard about some enhancements.
- Fire Shield: The recharge of this skill has been reduced from 40 seconds to 25 seconds.
- Rock Barrier: Reduced the aftercast delay of this skill by 0.6 seconds.
- Rock Barrier—Hurl: The damage of the rocks thrown has been increased by 10%.
- Shatterstone: Reduced the time for this skill to explode from 2 seconds to 1 second. Increased the recharge from 2 seconds to 3 seconds.
- Gale: The cooldown of this skill has been reduced from 50 seconds to 40 seconds. This attack is now unblockable. The skill facts have been updated to correctly display the knockdown duration difference between PvP (1 second) and PvE (2 seconds).
- Fresh Air: In addition to its current attunement recharge, this trait will now grant a ferocity bonus of up to 250 points (based on level) for 5 seconds when attuning to Air.
WoW, so enhancement, much fun, no DPS and no utility.
