Marriage is between a man, and a woman.

Not a Charr female and male. Not a Sylvari female and female. And definitely not an asuran male or female.

I would be okay if they implemented it only for Humans.

That thought crossed my mind Palefire. I think it would be important to try nerfing the orb bonus (or at least making the outmanned bonus worth a kitten ) before just removing it or changing it entirely

Someone needs to play more WvW and get a clue, instead of making himself a laughing stock by dismissing an entirely valid and correct summary by the OP.

OP has summed the issues pretty well. I too have experiences both sides, the crushing winner, and the crushed looser. Neither was fun. ANet would be wise to acknowledge the issues summed up in the 1st post and start to actively look for solutions. I have posted a few of such solutions myself, and so did others. All ANet needs to do is read the forums, it’s all there

The OP summed up nothing. All but one complaint is based around skill and organization. Plain and simple. The ONLY valid point made was orbs. Lack or morale is not a balance issue. Not defending your supply lines is not a balance issue. There are many valid complaints about WvW from orbs to transfers. Even the people complaining about gathering and jumping puzzles have valid arguments. But arguing that it is imbalanced because someone is winning by a large amount is NOT one of them regardless of which side of the coin you are on because the MECHANICS are balanced (except orbs cmon anet).

Right, but the OP isn’t saying “WvW is unbalanced because one team is winning by a large amount all the time”, he’s saying “WvW is unbalanced because of X reasons, which is causing this side effect of lopsided match ups”.

I understand your underlying reasoning, that just because players are choosing to do something (like not queuing up for wvw because of morale, or not defending/attacking supply camps and caravans), doesn’t make it a game mechanic issue, but it’s the players fault for doing it. You’re missing the OPs point though, the argument here is that these are all side effects of unbalanced wvw because it is designed to benefit the winning team more than the losing team.

Well I was going to tell Edewen how bad his argument was too, but it seems like he deleted his..well thought out reply.

I completed agree with the OP. Not all of these issues need to be changed, but a combination of them or some sort of change of mechanics need to be made to prevent these lopsided matches from regularly occurring. I liked the idea of switching the bonus from orbs and outmanned.

Is this another game where you get "one-shot" all the time?

There is still a considerable difference in power between level 80s and level 50s. Your stats are scaled up, but your items stats are not.

@Korgoth
Or doom of GW2 forums. I never seen this many negative feedback in a gaming forum in my life lol.

You obviously didn’t participate on the Diablo 3 forums..

Also;

What are you talking about man? You still get that feeling of power by rolling people, except when you do, its because you were a better player not because your gear carried you through it.

Why do female soldiers / officers insist on being called "sir" in this game?

I thought they were saying “ser” not “sir”.

Ser is a gender neutral form of “sir”

Switching Servers

They wont ever mix servers, would kind of defeat the purpose of WvWvW. Not to mention, with games like this having multiple servers is a hardware necessity. There are multiple reasons, just know that there really isnt a way around it.

Eventually switching servers will cost money (if it doesnt already) or you can buy gems using your own gold to switch servers. There are many people to play with on a server, and you should coordinate with any RL friends when it comes to choosing a server.

Max Level 20 vs Max Level 80: which you enjoy most?

I like the higher level cap personally.

The game isn’t “grindy”. The difference between the gear in this game and in other games is the difference in power is MUCH less than that in other games. Even if you went up against someone with the best level 80 gear, you’d still have a pretty solid chance.

Games should have a reward system in place that lets you work over the long term to achieve. It shouldn’t be easy or given to you else it just becomes meaningless.

Revised - Fix Down-Scaling or Remove Farming Cap

I believe the point was the rewards for doing low level events are much less than doing events geared for level 80s, nothing to do with characters stats/level being scaled down.

In my opinion I think some other events that are in the 60-70 area could be beefed up in terms of rewards, but if low level events are given awards that could compete with level 80 areas, that’s all people would do because they’re quick and easy.

I’ve read lots of threads of people and their negative opinions about GW2, but most of the OP in those threads liked the game, just had some complaints.

I don’t know why you’re wasting your time on a video game you obviously don’t like.

Guild wars has always very clearly NOT been about the gear grind. It’s not the type of game it is.

There is gear in this game anyway, it’s just all about how it “looks” and not so much about the stats.

Dungeon: Rewards & Bosses

I have only done a few dungeons and AC explorable once (with the ghost eater), so my opinion may not be a typical experience.

This game is..different. I too am used to the system where you run x dungeon and when the boss dies you know that he’s likely going to drop something for someone (assuming they need an upgrade). However this game is about looking cool and not getting really powerful, so on that note it would be nice if there were unique dungeon skins in each dungeon, one light, one medium, and one heavy, and each boss had a chance to drop up to one (or two, doesnt matter as long as there is a decent chance of at least one dropping) piece of armor with that unique armor skin, and make it bind on pickup/account.

As far as encounters go…there are a few encounters that I really enjoyed and others that I felt really needed work. For example, in the Svanir dungeon (the ice/snowy dungeon..Honors something), I really enjoyed the boss in story mode that would drop shards of ice down from the ceiling that you had to evade or else be subject to his ice breath. I was constantly dodging and moving and my group worked as a team to keep him slowed so we could avoid his breath. Also, the fight with the dude in AC explorable that would pull you in and whirlwind you to death. It took a few times getting slashed up until I realized when to dodge his pull attack
.
On the flip side, some bosses really do feel like I’m playing D3 Inferno Act 2 pre patch. Just insane amounts of damage and health in an effort to make it a challenge. The last boss in the aforementioned story mode of the Svanir place..he would sick his hawks on you and there was no way to avoid it (that we found out) and it was almost a guaranteed death because they did a ridiculous amount of damage. If graveyard zerging were not possible, I don’t think we would have gotten him down.

I’m sure there are still some improvements to be made in dungeons, maybe some of these things that are causing headaches are not quite working as intended. One major fix that I think needs to be addressed is it needs to be more apparent when bosses (and players) are telegraphing their attacks in some situations. Sometimes with everything happening on the screen it’s pretty hard to see my character or the boss and I can’t tell what he’s doing at all, so I cannot avoid anything. Those red circles need to be thicker and brighter!

Other than that, the story is better than any MMO I have played and I’m really happy with how that went. There just needs to be much more emphasis on boss tactics and less on graveyard zerging, because that’s not fun.

TL:DR Version

  • Add unique armor skins (For each of the 3 different types light/medium/heavy) to dungeons and have each boss have a chance at dropping one. BoP or BoA. This could be available only in Exploration mode.
  • More fun boss encounters (All the ones in Honor hold except last boss are great examples)
  • Make the Telegraphing circle thicker and brighter. Sometimes its hard to see with all the spell effects or if they’re too big because of the limited Field of View.

I personally feel like I am going nowhere in PVE
