My stuns should do 1k damage each for no reason. That’d be hot. No wait its op as kitten.
Don’t get me wrong, he is a good necro but its just ridiculous that it does so much damage passively. and doesnt require scaling.
Hmm so what if nightmare runes proc, what if I cc them and that procs, what if they have staff 5 and ds 3 up? what if they have corrupt boon too?!
What can I do? Oh nothing because I am feared and they corrupted my stability to become another fear.
We got kittened in the kitten because we worked so hard to achieve r60+ and didn’t get ANYTHING besides stupid transmutation charges on skins we already had (by the by my toad king sword got deleted and I sent in ticket and they refused to help). I was r67 and 3 ranks away from precursor. Now I’ll never get one and all my work was wasted.
Yup totaly agree, players who were 60-69 rank should get 1 legendary, 70, 2 legendarys and 80, 4 legendarys at least. And 50+ ranks should get some sort unique pvp ascended gear, similar to end of season wvw.
This should really happen because people that were in the 60’s were actually on their way to a precursor… But hey transmutation charges!
I think its absurd that PvPers spent months, most-their entire experience in Gw2, obtaining their ranks and now it does not mean anything. There was no compensation at all besides some transmutation charges to change our skins on skins that we already had free access to. The little reward chests are repulsive, they don’t have any good loot that makes up for months of work. I’m sure that people , including myself, would have been less inclined to do so many tournies and hotjoins if we knew everything past 55 would’ve been wasted and looped.
Reintegrate ranks or create and identifiable counter that displays x-amount of times 80 has been looped or create new compensation because this update really screwed PvPers over. I mean I actually would’ve been well better off because I was rank 67 and was only 3 ranks away from 70, which at the time would’ve given me a precursor. Now I get little chests full of useless crap that will market for around 50silver.
Its just frustrating that PvPer’s took their time to rank up and get “cool” gear and now PvE’ers rush in with their fancy legendaries and what not. Where did our work go to? Tourny win boxes that got removed so we have no relic of our pvp history?
Question! Are the llama finishers exclusive to the winners of the tourney? (32nd-1st place). Or is it just a gift that pve-ers will still be able to buy for 800 gems?
Does the substitute get rewards even if the sub doesn’t play? They are kind of giving up their potential to play so I would assume so but who knows.
Stun with pistol whip. Large aoe damage with Pistol whip. Evade with Pistol Whip. Interrupts with Pistol (and Blind if used in field). Aoe blind with Pistol. Whirling Axes Blind spam with Pistol Offhand. Reflect with Whirling Axes. Whirling Axes doing large aoe damage.
Large kitten teleport. Clears 3 condis. Can be used to decap and still rubberband back in time.
Can teleport in, spam EVADING pistolwhip that STUNS and teleport out. Rinse and repeat.
STEALTH – The concept of getting the first hit (that blinds -_-) is kittening OP. Poison field from shortbow, doesnt break stealth either (wtf?).
This is a really good thread, I hope arenanet reads this and changes things. You’re right 7 month meta is ridiculous.
1. If you’re zerging around staff won’t hurt. If you’re roaming solo or with a trio or something it will hurt because you simply would be able to land anything. I run a glass S/F build in wvw (i roam only) and it works. The obsidian flesh is really nice to tank thieves. Focus just brings a lot of survivability to the table. If Dagger offhand is your thing I think going D/D would be better. S/D Is viable in dungeons, so is S/F. Really, for dungeons you just use your weapons to stack might and then use lightning hammer/fgs to dps.
2. Lightning Hammer and FGS are used in dungeons, you can try ice bow in wvw with teleport. Start casting 5 and then teleport closer to target before it fully casts so you get that range closed. FGS is nice in wvw as well, gives you mobility.
3. I run 0/30/10/10/20 on my ele for both spvp and wvw. S/F. I like the 20 in arcane to get the protection when switching to earth and the regen when switching to water. It really does help. In D/D I think you’d go 30 into arcane to get evasive arcana because you’re not tied to 30 into fresh air as scepter is.
reduce cast time pls thx or increase range cus unlike thieves we dont have shadowsteps to land every burst.
Is it not possible to run both of these? With healing signet’s passive removed when you enter rampage and odds are you being low on hp when exit rampage… are these two skills not viable together? There’s the instant 3-4k heal by activating the signet but I don’t think that’d get you anywhere when you’re really low.
They are most definitely overpowered…

Your guys’ build seem viable for WvW , this is strictly for structured pvp / tournaments which is why I don’t find the immobolize break and snare reduction essential with all of the given obstacles and the concept of point fighting. I run this build in tpvp and it works well if there isn’t a reputable engi on their team to consistently chill me (if there is, I usually just switch characters in the beginning).

It’s incredibly squishy, but with good dodges and timing of blocks/whirlwindevade you can survive well. I run this build in tournaments as well, it works really well but it is indeed a warrior… so I sometimes have to swap out to engi if the other team is well reputable.
Most builds out there pick up the 20 in “Strength” for the 10% bonus dmg in greatsword…I think thats the wrong way to go because that means you dont get either 30 in Arms in Displicine, which itself gives more adrenaline per crit -which is essential, since your dmg is largely based on adrenaline being up- & 10% more dmg on bleeding targets ; or you won’t have 30 in Discipline which is 3% dmg per boon the target has. If that’s not enough to convicne you, Discipline gives more crit dmg % so you have to consider that as well, and Arms obviously gives more crit rate. These damage bonuses are also universal for all weapons, as opposed to Stength’s strictly 10% greatsword dmg bonus.
I’m not saying my build is the best, but it definitely kicks some butt. If everything miraculously is in line, like the target is squishy as heck and has 4-5 boons excluding protection – I can literally one shot them: 12k eviserate + 4k lightning strike + 3k fire blast. Constructive criticism is welcomed and appreciated!
