- Fractal level determines the end chest reward and the number of relics.
Are you sure about that? I am certain that at least to some point fractal end reward was capped by your personal level.
Of course, if they did change it at some point, there was no way for me to notice. And it’s not really important compared to daily rewards anyway. If you’re right, then, besides karma and lfg (and of course access, but that is not really “personal” since it is checked for a group, not each person separately) personal level would have no meaning whatsoever anymore.
Personal USED to cap rewards. Before they revamped the fractal levels, if you had a lower level than the level series you were doing, you would get the lower rewards. (This was when the frac level cap was 50)
Since the revamp to 100 fractal levels, personal level has meant literally nothing.
The only thing it determines is what you PERSONALLY can open.
is it spring yet?
My guess is the spring patch will be the same time they remove SAB. Let’s hope it contains ad Infinitum…
I have a feeling Frowny is discussing from a WvW perspective without making that clear. Lightning rod is definitely worse than Bolt to the Heart in a PvE scenario.
To answer your question, attunement swap doesn’t cancel the ongoing cast. This means you can start any channel and change attunements without fear of interrupting your skills.
That would explain a lot bahah. Thanks for the response =)
if you are running a dps staff build you should be running lightning rod too. Even if you aren’t running lightning rod it will trap opponents in your meteor cast
Ive been running bolt to the heart, I figured 20% dmg at <50% would add up to more than lightning bolts through the duration of a fight, but Im certainly not attached to it
Goo to know, thanks for the info!
Basically you can switch to air mid cast and then use air 5 while half of the meteor is still falling. This is the typical dps rotation for a staff ele. If you are tempest you can follow up with air overload.
So swapping mid cast to air doesnt decrease the number of meteors that end up getting cast? Also why would you cast staff air 5, I didnt think it did much other than CC D=
d/w uses the trait that increases precision while attuned to air and spends the majority of its time in that attunement. Staff just camps fire mostly
If you camp fire you are playing it wrong
nope
Camping fire is very often the way to go. Swapping to air while channeling meteor storm and then using glyph of storms and overload air and then back to fire results in marginally higher dps, but is very situational, and prevents you from doing what staff ele is good at and the reason you’re likely taking staff in the first place: strong ranged damage. for instance, you can’t drop lava fonts on orbs at gorseval while you are in airand in any case, you’re spending a minority of your time in air, so the precision boost isn’t really worth building around (in fact, I usually don’t even take it)
I was under the impression that doing anything to interrupt meteor storm yields fewer meteors? I’m rather new to ele, so please be gentle D= Ive been messing around with faster dps rotations and it seemed that if I interrupted meteor shower fewer meteors would fall.
Please enlighten me, Im eager to learn about eles
so, we dont need personal lvl 100 to reach ad infinitum?? thats not cool….
There has been zero information about what you will and wont need for Ad Infinitum achievements.
Stop complaining about things you don’t know yet. -__-
There is no “best” legendary, they’re purely cosmetic so it’s entirely up to you.
I personally went with what weapon set I liked visually/used most often – that ended up being bolt and Astralaria.
Question for y’all…how do you interpret the king of fires change?
A) changing the entire skill so it no longer gives the burn duration
B) change the on crit effect only
It should work on both of those, so Im not really sure =/ It was working for me earlier though.
It could depend on what you were trying to break bar. Certain things are not effected by temporal rift, such as things that cannot be displaced or knocked down/back.
For me the workaround has always been the person that OPENED the instance left and re-entered. Not sure if it works with any party member leaving/re-entering.
Your best bet to get them is running 51+ fractals. I personally farmed the 52 volcanic fractal and repeatedly killed the regular grawl that spawn at the beginning. Yes your MF matters, and will help getting them to drop more.
Youll be fine with s/s.
Ferocious strikes gives 150 ferocity, which is nothing compared to 10% damage from Vicious Lacerations
Dat ill bump doe…I know its a stretch, but Id be super happy with a simple “This is a bug” or “It is intended to be stiff”. Ill take pretty much anything at this point…
Players look at damage, cd, cc and deffensive skills. The f you want full dps then axe s better. Otherwise go sword for keeping healers away fom the team or for uncapping points.
He said PvE.
Tbh, Im not crazy about s/s for pve. The pull is annoying in that even if your target cant be displaced, YOU get displaced so you have to run back over. Axe 5 is more useful for breakbars as it doesnt displace you, and does better damage/applies torment/aoe cc. Axe 4 gives you a dash outside of shiro which is useful if your targets move. There arent many things in the game that you NEED the block skill on sword that you cant already dodge.
All in all, I find axe offhand to be superior to sword offhand.
Thats just me though I run s/a glint/shiro full zerk, pretty standard stuff.
I don’t mind if it doesn’t get fixed soon ( with Tuesdays patch ), but can a dev at least acknowledge that this is something they know about it/are working on it?
This goes with most of the threads in the bug forums.
There’s no way this will get fixed by Tuesday, or honestly anytime soon imo. =/
There are a lot of bugs unfortunately, but it would definitely be nice for them to post.
Bump, at least trying to maintain some sort of visibility D=
I highly doubt Anet will even comment on this, let alone address this problem. In the grand scheme of things this is an unfortunately small bug effecting an even smaller group of players.
I was talking with a guildie last night and we came to the conclusion/theory that Anet has been holding ad Infinitum back because it’s still broken, and they’re trying to fix it which honestly I’d prefer them telling us if it was the case, rather than nothing and all of us believing they just don’t give a kitten about the community when it comes to communication ;n;
There doesn’t seem to be any consistency with unbound moving – I saw one moving today, but the other 4-5 were stiff. A friend saw mine moving for the first time ever, but we switched maps and it stopped. I’ve seen 2 inbounds next to each other and one moved and the other didn’t. ;n;
its molten boss duo one of the quickest fractals
Are there diminishing returns?
How much ar would I need for this? And how should I get it? With versatile or is it worth infusing my gear?
There are no diminishing returns on fractal relics.
I’m really hoping Anet at the very least says something about this. I posted a similar thread earlier today, with an example of the current stiff state as well.
So I would assume this is how its SUPPOSED to behave:
&
And this is how it looks for the vast majority of players I’ve seen/talked to:
So…bug? I’ve checked every possible graphics setting, turned everything from low to high and vice versa. Still no dice.
Could it be a driver update? Or an issue with specific GPUs?

Synergy is a guild started by some friends with a goal to create a small community of friendly players. We aren’t interested in having 500 members where no one knows anyone else. We are currently playing Guild Wars 2 primarily on the Jade Quarry server.
For Guild Wars 2, we participate both PvE and organized PvP in both WvWvW and structured PvP. Most of us have been gaming together since the days before Guild Wars 1 and continue to do so. Because of our long standing community, you will find that it is an atmosphere where everyone knows each other and learns to play well as a well oiled machine, hence the name Synergy.
•Focus on Living Story achievements
•Four dedicated teams for Raiding
•Chance to play with friendly players

Thank you for replying! Unfortunately I am not looking for a main guild – mainly just for fractals. It seems like your guild is great but not exactly what Im looking for. Thanks anyway =)
Im looking to get my fractal level higher, and I figured having a guild would help with that =)
Currently at plvl 46, 91 AR.
Villain you kitten, I was about to take 74!
