I think the page from the book was more about explaining how Scarlet was able to motivate her minions to participate in her scheme when there did not seem to be much in it for them – the excerpt just happened to come from “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Homicidal Dictators or How to Bring About Nightfall and Return Abbadon to Tyria” by Varesh Ossa
I don’t recall seeing any discussion on this, but maybe I just missed. Is there any information on why the statues in Divinity’s Reach are the same as the statues in Orr? Shouldn’t they be the “traditional” statues of GW1?
You also get dodge credit for any skill that lets you evade attacks – Ranger GS skill #1 for example.
Here is my confusion. The Nov. 15th update had this…
•The drop rarity of Rare and Exotic weapons from certain places in the world (champions, veterans, and players in WvW) has been increased. Rares and Exotics should be much more likely to drop and every champion should be guaranteed to drop loot. This was to ensure that world loot drops were not a significantly worse way of acquiring rare and exotic items than crafting and running dungeons.
Where it says “Every champion should be guaranteed to drop loot.” Except not every champion is dropping loot. I have frequently received nothing from champions.
Went throught the catacombs chain of events on Yak’s Bend about ten minutes ago. Fought all four champions and got nothing, not even grey stuff, from them.
Something is definitely not right after the last patch. I have been able to play with no problems since day one…now I can’t go 5 minutes without a crash to black screen, and then either an auto restart or a hard restart. I’ve submitted a ticket with my log, updated all of my drivers that needed updating, and still no improvement on the problem.
Having played through this particular fractal several times now – I noted that the colossus sort of vanishes the way our characters do when we traverse to the next fractal. Makes me think that he isn’t a re-creation of a “real world” entity, but is a traveler of the mists as we are and was somehow captured byt the Archdiviner and his minions.
I would add to the OP questions just in general regarding the mists.
We “the adventurers” are real beings in the mist; are the enemies and creatures we encounter like us or are they copies (something like automotons) acting like “real” beings on a stage? If they aren’t “real”, then is it possible the Chained Colossus is an event that has already happened in some other place and time? Are we playing the part of the heroes who really did save him in his world? or was he never saved and still remains chained in his world?
Assuming that reality is pulled from a variety of worlds not just Tyria, are the fractals we encounter that look like Tyria (e.g. the blizzard one) from Tyria or could they represent alternate realities/time lines? Could we be seeing Tyria if Jormag conquers all for example? (are the mists a central point that touch all places and times?)
Who is the Mossman? Why is Dessa so nervous about the UnID’d Fractal with the raving Asura and is that a ruined and sacked Rata Sum that we see (again a glimpse of the future if the dragons aren’t stopped?)
If ANET went throug this much effort to create pieces of the Jade Sea in the mists might we be traveling to Cantha soon?(I know has nothing to do with this discussion, but had to put it out there).
Where was the The Great Temple of Balthazar located in GW1? Was it in the sea of sorrows or further south?
I guess what I find interesting about it is the gash in the ground and the crater the broken orb is partially buried in. It looks like whatever it is/was was move north to south, but there isn’t any thing north of there that can be seen that would have launched it.
Between the Apostate Wastes and the Rustbowl in Fireheart Rise, there is wreckage that looks for all the world like a crashed satellite of Asura construction. Has anyone else seen it and is there any information on what it is?
Any speculation?
- Pet names don’t stick to the pet. Please make it so that when I name my pets their names stay with them on swap out.
- Bring back evolving pets. Pets remain as “Juveniles” from 1 – 80. (e.g., when I re-equip a pet, they are “juvenile” whatever) At 80, I’d like to be able to equip pets for the situation much like I do with my skills – need more DPS – bring out the Dire Bear, want more CC equip the Elder Lashtail, etc, etc. This would also add a more depth to pet system in that you have to work at training the pet.
-Make Story Mode of each dungeon soloable with scaling rewards and difficulty (and I don’t mean give more to groups; I mean give less to people who decide to do the story mode alone). I’d like to be able to experience the story of the game without always having to worry about the group dynamic.
-Currently, once a heart quest is done, it’s finished – you just ignore it and move on – never mind that there are still spiders trying to eat the farmers. I’d like to see a system where you can earn small amounts of karma for continuing to help in the area of heart quest. To keep people from using at as a means of “farming” Karma, keep the rewards very small (i.e. 1 karma for doing something that would normally add to the heart and limit the total amount a player could earn). It adds to the idea of helping out in the world.
I can’t help with the bugged quests, but I do know that you should still get a reward if an event fails – it just isn’t as big as the one you would get if the event succeeds.
Elementalist don’t weapon swap because they have the four elements to swap out. It isn’t a bug it is their set up.
