Why is Tyria so special?

It was Abbaddon who first gave the humans magic. Before that, magic was wild.

I would rather place the question, why the Dwarfs, Jotun, Forgotten, (Mursaat). laid the elder dragons to sleep in Tyria, while Glint hid the other races. We’ve seen so far Zhaitan in Tyria, and the awakening Modremoth. From those we’ve clear evidence that they’re in Tyria, except their minions.

Why is Tyria so special? Well thats a question that would also include the question why The Six where there until the Exodus. In fact the Bloodstones and other artifacts could lure magical beings there.

And we still have a deep sea dragon. Most People seem to have forgotten Kuunavang. As Modremoth is revealed now, it would be only logical that the deep sea dragon and Kuunavang share a connection. Therefore I wouldnt conclude that Tyria is so important, when we still dont know what Kuunavang and the deep sea dragon actually caused in Cantha. The Pale trees last vision confirms his existence. Modremoths badge moves into the middle, while all other remain steady, including one for the deep sea dragon.

The Bonus Mission Packpage from GW1 hinted a connection to dragons with the elite skill of Master Togo. In fact its called empire of the “dragon” and its the oldest human nation.

I would say that the dragonbrand is building a connection to Elona, also Ebonhawk is a vast city just at Elonas Gates, and Adelbern said, he build it to protect Ascalon from a great threat. Its not sure wether he meant Joko that remains to be seen.

Elementalist, Mesmer, or Warrior?

I would suggest you simply give them all a try. Each profession has got a very unique way of “getting things done”.

While the Mesmer has been always a specialists choice, he enjoys in GW2 more popularity. You can run him well without much skill involved, but the mastery of all aspects could be challenging.

The Warrior is very straight forward. I would anyway have one around for PVP, just in case you decide to play something different the other day.

The Elementalist might be what you have in mind when you say you wanna do serious damage. But i wouldn’t underestimate the Mesmer as one or two tricks up the sleeve mean sometimes more than pure damage output in this game.

Stronghold = GvG?

There’s been many references to GW1 content i.e. slaying the “Guild Lord” in a Spvp map.

The stronghold mode clearly combines GvG map elements with the AI driven assault of Fort Aspenwood.

- First the AI team takes out the doors with Luxon siege equipment
-You fight inside the fort against players and AI
-You slay the “Lord”

As far as I can recall from interviews – they want the player to focus on tactical thinking, that means only the AI can break the doors like in Fort Aspenwood.

So I would rather expect a new version of this PVP mode from GW1, with many new elements added that the original idea lacked to make it more fun, rather than a pure GvG mode that focussed on purely competitive PVP.

Arena Net clear took the most elements out of Fort Aspenwood.

I can totally agree that saving outfits with trait/weapon configurations would be awesome.

Suggestion: Saving builds

I’ve been waiting for this since the release. It was for me always a key element of Guild Wars to be able to adjust yourself to the situation and use every tactical advantage possible.

I can in fact carry every weapon in the inventory, but when I wanna swap on my Guardian from staff/scepter(ranged) to hammer/greatsword I just wont have the time to reset all my traits in the nightmare court dungeon for example where I cannot fight melee sometimes.

This is a huge disadvantages. The ability to swap between builds “in” a dungeon for example would add very very much depth. I’m not able to memorize builds for all 8 dungeons for example. But if I could save my own builds and develope/adjust them to my playing style, I would regain the tactical advantages I used to bring in Guild Wars 1 to combat.

I remember the MMO-Manifesto when Arena Net told us they bring everything from the original Guild Wars to Guild wars 2 – but this is obviously the most integral part of Guild Wars 1. I think that many GW1 Veterans would be happy about that ability.

It would also improve the community if we would be able to discuss builds and exchange them. That doesnt necessarily means that everyone would play for example the 55 HP monk. Guild Wars 2 is much more diverse and a build that works for one player wont work for the other. There are always adjustments to be made.

I hope that you at least consider integrating it. I got 7 of 8 professions on 80. And I’m simply not able to memorize all traits when I swap fast to another character. Therefore I’m not able to effectively play all of my characters with trade changes.

The save function would allow my to save my thoughts I’d on the class a month ago and work with them today.

I think the information policy of this company evolves to something very bad, that I already know from other MMO companies. Instead of sending a messange “please come later back we got some issues”….. there is just silence.

I think the chats in LA, forum and so on indicate that Arenanet is doing something very very wrong here. No one can prevent those problems from happenened. But simply saying nothing about it and hope it starts the next minutes.

Bugged NPC's - Who and which server

I guess we all wanna let Arena Net know which NPC is dead on which server.

I saw it mentioned in a number of threads and thought it might be wise to start a single one, so everyone can post the “where” instead of having 5 single threads around.

There’s a lot people just standing around at them so it might be wise to point out everyone’s waiting.
