Totally happy with new patch,not sure why some people are raging hard.

DS damage reduce – finally.
DS damage into health – finally (and yes, I play necro and he is my main, but it was just stupid and I feel it is completely fair)

Mark radius buff = awesome

GM = never really played it, thought its just for blind people that cannot aim their marks well. (except wvw where aoe aegis bothered some)

spectral armor = omg! no insta DS fill! quit necro! (srsly? still recharges 50% = more than fair)

Terror – humm w/e, condimancer with fearlock was stuff in pvp, probably deserved nerf.

Ghastly Claws buff – I can live with that

For me, the new patch was the new beginning for necro.

My new build (for PvE, solo and group play) is centered around DS; solid survivability alongside (for necro) outstanding DPS.

Armor goes full valkyrie (power, vitality, % crit dmg) with 6 divinity runes, accessories are full celestial, zerker backpack. Vitality provides an extra life force pool boost, high survivability outside DS and precision is not needed, since crit chance outside DS oscillates at around 30%, in DS is + another 50%.

Traits are 30/10/0/0/30
Spite 30: reapers might (life blast gives might); axe training (20% more axe dmg, 20% faster recharge); close to death (20% more dmg against <50% hp)
Curses 10: reapers precision (33% chance for 1% life force on crit)
Soul reaping 30: unyielding blast (life blast pierces and causes vulnerability); whatever; deathly perception (50% higher crit chance in DS)

As weapons, I use Axe/Focus main, Dagger/Dagger 2nd (considering staff). Valkyrie stats. Utilities are 1. Blood is Power 2. Spectral Armor 3. Well of suffering. Healing skill is ofc Consume Conditions. Also, I didn’t find an elite skill that would make a difference, so go with whatever you like.

With good setup (fury, +-15 vulnerability, 20 might stacks) I have seen regular 10k hits from axe #2 burst, without any preparation it goes for around 5,5-6k.
DS #1 is pure awesomeness, as it is basically a 5k piercing auto-attack that gives might and stacks vulnerability. DS #4 is just a 5-7k aoe
Dagger has a good use for quick life force recovery, or for condition cleanse or mass weakness, also has around 4k auto chains (no preparations).

Chains are 1. Blood is power, 2. Reapers touch, 3.Ghastly claws, 4. Pop DS, 5. Own 6. Pop out of DS 7. repeat

All of this is complemented with extremely big life force pool that can be recovered in matter of seconds and 26k HP.

Will post updates if I find something can be done better, feel free to suggest any improvements!

We are at the big toad and he no longer drops crystal shards, also its impossible to attack him or his amulet, is this a bug or is it working as intended? He is at roughly 33% life.

As a necromancer: without hesitation.

Actually I always wait with my elite, thinking “I’ll save it ’cause there may be times when it is really needed” because of their long cooldowns, ending up not using it once during whole dung/fractal/whatever.
And honestly, utility skills have much better effect/cooldown ratio than most of the elites (for necro: all elites).

Maybe we deserve a little compensation?

Considering the achievement points didn’t do anything at all I don’t really see that anyone has lost anything.

They didn’t do anything, yet we have lost one very important thing – time.

Which you knew in advance.

Not really, big bunch of those points were made pre-warning. Warning also wasn’t officialy posted, just a devs word in one of forum topics, easily missed for most people.

Maybe we deserve a little compensation?

Personally I don’t think “clicked my mouse 10000k times” is worth any compensation.

Excuse me, but what else are you doing in the game except of “clicking mouse”? double tap 1000 drakes doesn’t sound much different in this concept, does it?

Yesterday, with the patch capping agent of entropy and hobby dungeon explorer at fixed points, my achievement points went down a significant bit. Now I am asking, why can’t we get some compensation for this loss? We have spent time doing it (by “We” I mean all the salvagers through the Tyria ), we have spent money doing it. To me it feels like you have removed all the legendary weapons from the game saying “they were bad for economy anyway, but we have replaced them in your inventory for a random masterwork of the same type”. Also, I will not agree with anyone saying we were abusing an exploit, this was no way an exploit, the only reason it was capped was because of the implementation of leaderboards (therefore, I agree with the decision of capping it, it wouldn’t be very wise to keep it that way. I just could live without leaderboards and stuff related and no points (=now the time wasted) could be removed).

Well, this isn’t a QQ post, just a serious question to the developers, because I’d find it fair to compensate people for taking back what they have earned throughout the game.

Our guild rushed the guild bounty upgrade, started the mission, but when going guild – > missions everyone crashes. Any workaround for this?

Hello, just wanted to remind people saying there are too few skins compared to gw1, know, that gw: prophecies was also short on skins and what are you talking about is 3 expansions worth of content and skins. If Anet keeps the pace with releasing as many skins in every expansion, it will be a skinfest to look for.

Low lvl areas are still cake

Hello, just wanted to suggest reworking downscaling a bit more, because I can see no significant change to the difficulty last patch brought about downscaling. I can still steamroll any low lvl area, fight 5 vs 1 without significant problems etc.

Also rewards could be given based on level, so that lvl 80 cannot get low level items, which happens quite often in such areas. It could bring people back from Orr, which at least guarantees high level drops.

No-DR weekends?

Well, thought about posting this suggestion, since we have no thematic weekends, what about turning DR down for the period of weekend (lets say except dungeon end rewards) so people can have fun at least during weekends? I think that turning DR down 2 days of the week wouldn’t hurt the economy that much and people could enjoy the awesome drop rates once again in a while (read “at least grind Orr properly”). I could be severely mistaken though, but just wanted to suggest a way to make this game fun again

Patch is online in Europe. I already got 2 Precursors from lvl 13 fractals. Everybody in my group at least one. Im so rich right now!

Honestly, I think update will be available at 00:00 GMT because thats when the daily restarts and with the addition of new laurels it just makes sense to make them to not update it midtime, because a lot of people have todays daily done.

My goodness people on this forum are a HUGE bunch of whiners. You demand everything and when you get something, you complain it’s not enough. If you keep complaining and ArenaNet decides to pull the plug, what will happen to your precious cross server game play then? You’ll have to move on to another game to do nothing but complain about.

ArenaNet are doing what they can, in a time frame that they can realistically do it in to make people happy. What do they get? The biggest bunch of whiners I’ve ever seen.

Wah wah I’m on an American server and can’t play with my EU friends … change servers then. It’s not that hard. If all your friends are on EU (or US) servers, and you want to play with them, change servers. Don’t give me the whole “oh but I’m in the US so being on a foreign server will be too slow” rubbish – I’m in Australia and have to use a US or EU server, I don’t have a choice of a server in the southern hemisphere, the amount of hops it takes from AU to US is far larger than from the US to EU.

Seriously, there is no pleasing some people. At this rate the amount of whiny little brats on this forum, I wouldn’t be surprised if ArenaNet doesn’t decide it’s not worth it and pulls the plug altogether. Your perceived sense of entitlement is astounding for a $60 game.

… this is just so wrong… its not about the lag in US servers, its about the empty world you will experience during EU play time. Now you say “But you have friends there, play with them” but 10 friends wont give you what persistent world mmo is about – players all around you. Is it so much to want both this things at the same time?

Let me explain to you why you cannot guest on worlds in another region.

There are two databases: European player data is stored in our European datacenter, American player data is stored in our American datacenter. This is to ensure that people in these regions can still properly play in case there is an issue with the connection between the datacenters.

When you do a world transfer from the US to the EU (and vice versa) your player data is transferred from one datacenter to the other. This is not the case with guesting, as you are still “registered” on your home world.

I understand that some of you are disappointed that you cannot guest on worlds in another region, but considering the complexity of internet routing, our main priority is to ensure that players have as much of an uninterrupted game experience as possible, which is the reason why we have two datacenters.

On another note: I will try to get an answer to the guild influence question that has been posted a couple of times.

I promise I will never post a single note about interrupted game if I am able to play with my friends QQ. Is there maybe a plan if future that will allow us to play with friends across regions?

Hmm, a wild idea: make the entropy cap at the highest yet achieved number, that way no one will lose any money/time spent salvaging, and if the person could do it in 4 months, what holding us back in making it in 4 years (or more to come…), right?

It is highly likely so this new system isn’t broken we’ll need to cap those and people who have made insane progress down one of those lines will lose some of their progress to get back to the cap. I wouldn’t recommend anyone go bonkers trying to progress an infinitely repeatable achievement category in anticipation of the release of this system, as you will likely lose some points/progress if you take it to an extreme number.

If that happens at any time of updates, I am instantly quitting gw2. You should make count only done achievements and omit repeatable achievements. Stop taking achieved things from people who spent significant time doing them.

If you’re going to quit the game over a measley achievement system, then perhaps you shouldn’t be playing the game to begin with

Well who are you to tell me what to play this game for? Its obvious different people play for different reasons. I like making achievement points so this thing is important for me.

I wouldn’t even care about all the bugs and stereotypes this game has IF I COULD PLAY WITH MY FRIENDS. Seriously, separating Europe from NA servers was the most stupid idea Anet could come with. I was playing my last years of GW1 in a NA guild made a lot of friends there, has tons of great fun, then the GW2 came out and guess what… I totally could join the NA server they are on, for the cost of empty world during the daytime in Europe. Great idea Anet, great. /clap

Frequent crashing from "corrupted files"

Relating to this topic, for me these problems started with the last (25/9) patch. I did almost everything humanly possible to locate the core of file corruption (repair, reinstall, update drivers (btw. gtx 560 ti), memtest, disk check (both with 0 errors passes, system restore to the point the game was running smoothly etc.)) and I am still getting crashes every +- 10 minutes into the game. I can play any other (either online or offline) game with no problem at all, so I have started to believe that the problem with the file corruption is based solely in GW2.
