guild wars of the old republic?
(steals your boons while you cry on forum)
im not here to show off my off-hand salami but i have to say it…
(This isnt saying i will win these situations each time but i have done it)
With my thief i can 3 v 1 max in wvw
With my ranger i can 5 v 1 max in wvw (BM power pet build)
With my warr i can 1 v 1 max (usually get burnt down due to condi)
With my mes i can 5 v 1 (who couldnt tho… 3x clones + Boom = ermahgerd)
‘’ ’’ ele i can gtfo of a 10 v 1 without dying
‘’ ’’ necro i can 3 v 1
So imo thief is about normal, its a different play style that people still cant grasp which is why they die to thieves, doesnt make it OP – just gotta switch from the way you would fight a warrior to the way you fight a thief at a moments notice
Had fun with 2 thieves last night trying that crap… one went off looking for a mob to CnD on leaving his buddy to 22222 all over the place trying to hit me while stealth. One backstab took all 9k of his glassy life bar and i left him there while i went after the noob getting stealth off squirrels.
off-hand salami = Flavor of the Month?
stealth is going to get nerfed but nobody knows how or how much, d/p builds rely heavily on stealth for mobility and escape (and well… you know…. stabba stabba stabba)
look up slayer build on youtube I guess, probably wont be worth it in a few days tho just warning you again
Example of why this is crap…
Necro = lots of power / Thief = lots more power
Necro = 28k hp / Thief = 13k hp to get all that power
Necro = no stealth / Thief = stealth
Necro: “WAAA! Why does HE get to stealth?!”
Ive played every class (except Engi… ‘forget about that ever happening’ I says to Mabel) and I have felt frustration and power from all of them. The most over powered is the d/d ele without a doubt, even as a d/d ele I complained about how faceroll the build was. Warriors have it the worst in that they have essentially 3 viable wvw builds (rifle, axe ‘chop chop chop’, 100b) that all have huge limitations to them and no survivability (in relation to lets say… thief, ele). Thief fits somewhere in the middle and for the playstyle choices the class allows I feel it is properly balanced… buggy but balanced. SURE we could function with a stealth nerf but why bother in the first place? Fix the culling issues and as Emerill would say ‘BAM! right in the pasta’. Forum warriors ruin this game, and Dev’s are at fault for letting them.
You picked your class, learn to play it as intended. You picked the puppy, you train it.
Problem is that people make it seem like we are running around naked swinging a dagger and killing everyone in 1 shot
Shouldn’t affect the class if they at least bump our survivability some other way, there are a ton of builds on the thief and some do not even use stealth (as a primary source of attack prep). No matter what happens we still have solace in the fact we are not the Warrior class. Thank God
L2P problems are going to completely break this class… might as well remove all classes aside from warrior (which is UP’d terribly but the easiest to play) from the game completely and appease everyone. OH IM SOOOOO SRY I OUT PLAY YOU WITH A CHARACTER MEANT TO FALL APART WITH THE SLIGHTEST BLOW, NEEDZ TO NERF MY PLAYING ABILITY?
Just gonna say, in Rift you can spec for perma stealth (until you hit something and had a 15 sec cooldown) but everything leading up to that will change your build entirely (ex. you can be zerker heartseeker spec but if you want full stealth you would spec into different trait lines which would be better served running condition spec)
Pro-tip: Disable auto-attack
Left it on so many times that after i CnD i still dodge as to avoid popping right back out of stealth lol
Speaking of stealth, have at least one utility that grants it because it is your saving grace as a glass cannon
Wouldnt suggest it as a viable alternative to the mainstream builds right now, running DD with stacks seems to be the way to go until its nerfed
I think i had it as bad as anyone, 15 FPS max in some areas without even being congested. I was running an AMD dual core processor, GTS 250 GPU and a horrible 4 year old hard drive.
Purchased:
MSI 970A mobo
12 Gb Corsair Vengeance RAM
AMD FX 6100 BE cpu
EVGA GTX 660 superclocked gpu
600 watt psu
Still wasnt able to break the 50 FPS mark and still bogged down during w3
Purchased:
Comcast BLAST internet speed (50mbps download @ best)
Probably helped? Didnt see much of a difference tho so i kept at it (keep in mind i do not have unlimited funds, just had money for an upgrade saved for when AMD produced something worthwhile)
Purchased:
Intel 520 SSD 120Gb
OMG DID THAT HELP! Started seeing the elusive 60 FPS pop in and out around Lions Arch, but STILL GOTTA MAKE IT BETTER! RAWRZ!
Downloaded:
Game Fire application (essentially does the same thing as turning off certain windows features and stopping unnecessary services… just makes it easier to turn them on again)
Overclocked:
Took cpu to 4.1GHz
Took RAM to 2GHz
Increased voltage in steps until…
61 FPS max – 38 Lowest (and boy did i have to stress it out to get that low)
So in my situation a complete overhaul was necessary, those of you starting with already good rigs should check your BIOS to see if it is properly updated and correctly overclocked. The Solid State Drive DEFINITELY made a difference in FPS (dont ask me why… im the network admin of a company and cant figure out why that worked aside from improving load times from static info on the drive). The minimum requirements are pretty accurate to play the game if you dont mind it looking like garbage, im a perfectionist however. 50+ FPS in WvW is something i never thought i would see, i thought the Dev’s were out to get us AMD folk. It took some work and around 500 bucks but i got it where i want it and hopefully this gives someone an idea and helps them too.

good morning Barren’s Chat
Stealth (imo) is more of a buff like assassins signet. It just leads into another attack (or sets up backstab) and i rarely see anyone using stealth effectively to “get away”. key word being “effectively” since most other classes can spam AOE damage like woah and knock you right back out.
My experience is based on WvW and spvp, i do not focus on PVE much.
probably shoulda been more descriptive… Its the Superior Runes of Divinity, i had them on my spvp gear but removed them, still says im using 12 runes on my set when i go into WvW
im still trying to figure out why my rune sets say 12/6 when in a set lol im only using 6
what i do not understand is why they wouldnt just cut down on rendering by making tension points completely barren… as if THERE WAS A WAR GOING ON. Terrain detail is pointless when there are 80 people tossing fire bombs or what have you.
I want to know if this is an issue with the data transfer rate of their servers or the traffic being bottlenecked and them having to adjust QoS on one-time data over player display. Culling seems like a cheap way to improve performance to me rather than load balance multiple servers as a host (overflow servers get on my nerves). This is 2013, we can survive 3 apocalypses in one year but cant manage to reduce lag on a video game.
sounds like you need to just up your game a little bud… lol j/k. necros need to get nerfed anyways imo, they aren’t as strong as they should be with certain builds. Just grinded a necro just to get a fat disappointment in pvp.
The damage is already done if you ask me. Botters sit around events and get a few levels a night… so what. As far as I’m concerned they don’t do anything but help the events. Its not as if they are affecting anyone else’ game play lol. Don’t understand why the player base is so butt hurt about this. If anyone has a right to be kitten off, it is the game developers, not anyone else. Why don’t you go try to kill someone in wvw.. go bot some and get your character leveled so you actually kill someone … j/k lol
Hellz yea, bring them on.. been wondering if they were going to be incorporated or not…
All you people on here posting about it, yet you know good and well that you have taken advantage of this yourselves. Someone mentioned something about ‘I deleted tokens’, LOL no one in their just shy of a moron would believe that… I personally agree with Nethelli in the sense that people maybe would be more prompt on reporting such events if they didn’t need to spend COUNTLESS hours performing the SAME task OVER AND OVER and getting burned out on it just to get a SINGLE FRIGGIN’ item… I don’t believe you should be able to get a full gear set in a day… ALTHOUGH, I do however believe the incentive should be a little more rewarding than the tokens you are rightfully rewarded before the exploit was stumbled upon, and after this build comes out. I have a wife and three kids, and I’m in the military… I do not have the time to put into these countless hours in the dungeons to obtain the character build I would like to obtain for end game PVP. If at all possible could we look into re-structuring the reward of tokens at the end of the dungeons Robert Hrouda? This I think would be a very acceptable medium for both ‘sides’ of your player base. Thank you for the consideration and lets get this fixed so I can spend the next 4 days working on my Breastplate! lol…
