Elixir X: This skill now only requires one cast to transform the user.
Toss Elixir R: This skill’s recharge is increased from 85 seconds to 120 seconds.
Elixir S: This skill is now improved by the Alchemy trait Fast-Acting Elixirs.
Tool Kit
Box of Nails: This skill now shows its proper area of effect.
Gear Shield: This skill now blocks for an extra second.
Magnet: This skill’s range has been doubled.
Grenades
The projectile speed of all grenades has been increased by 10-15%.
Grenade: This skill’s damage has been decreased by 10% in PvP only.
Shrapnel Grenade: This skill’s damage has been decreased by 15% in PvP only.
Freeze Grenade: This skill’s damage has been decreased by 10% in PvP only.
Grenade Barrage: This skill’s damage has been decreased by 10% in PvP only. It also now works correctly with the Explosives trait Grenadier while underwater.
Turrets
Smoke Screen: This skill’s graphic has been updated to show the area of the screen. It now pulses every 2 seconds for 6 seconds instead of every second for 5 seconds. This makes it more effective against enemies using attacks at normal speeds but prevents it from being abused to shut down quick-attacking enemies completely.
Automatic Fire: Increased the duration of this skill’s Overcharge by 100% on Harpoon Turret and 25% on Rifle Turret.
Electrified Net: Increased the velocity of the Electrified Net by 100%.
Thump: Increased the damage of the Overcharged attack by 25%.
Bomb Kit, Med Kit, Tool Kit, and Elixir Gun: These skills can now be equipped in the air.
All kits can be stowed in the air now.
Toss Elixir C: This skill’s cooldown will be set from 60 seconds to 30 seconds when underwater.
Elixir Gun’s Fumigate: This skill will now be cancelled when using other skills on the weapon to improve responsiveness.
Rocket Turret: This turret can now be detonated underwater.
Power Wrench: This trait now applies to Gear Shield and Magnet.
Incendiary Powder: This trait now states that it can only trigger once every 3 seconds.
Elixir U and Elixir C: These skills have had outdated skill facts removed.
Potent Elixirs: This skill no longer grants improper boon durations.
Elixir B: This skill grants fury, retaliation, and swiftness for 10 seconds base, with might being applied for 30 seconds base.
Smoke Bomb: This skill’s radius has been reduced to 180 from 240 when traited. Smoke Bomb is now active for 4 seconds, pulsing every 2. This change also affects the Autodefense Bomb Dispenser trait.
Homing Torpedo: This skill is now a small projectile combo finisher.
Retreating Grapple: This skill is now a projectile combo finisher.
Timed Charge: This skill is now a projectile combo finisher.
Net Wall: This skill is now a projectile combo finisher.
Harpoon Turret: This turret will now spawn at the engineer when the Deployable Turrets trait is equipped.

In response to Frogjon; I don’t know what I’m talking about? Every single thing I said was true. Thieves, Guardians, Rangers even Eles have had round after round of nerfs. Some pretty significant ones too I should add.
Name one nerf, apart from the unconfirmed hidden change to Pistols someone listed, that we have gotten?
Yes we have buggy traits – you seriously think we’re the only ones?
Yes we have mechanics that we’d like fixed (sigils on kits) – once again, not the only profession with those. You should check out hunter pets sometime.This was a Halloween PVE content patch. If you expected a massive bug fixing patch than you’re either new to MMOs or a hopeless optimist.

People will always find something to complain about. Even I have been guilty of this.
However, the fact is that every post launch patch has had some sort of bug fix and/or buff for Engineers. We have not received a single nerf so far – the only exception being the debatable change for the Flamethrower Juggernaut Trait, and even that wasn’t really a nerf but more of a change of direction for the Kit from a defensive one to an offensive one.
Considering that I would hardly say that the devs aren’t paying attention to our class – seems more like the exact opposite of that.
Edit: To clarify – yes there are still plenty of issues that fellow Engineers would love to get fixed but they can’t be fixed overnight so let’s stay positive considering the fixes/buffs we have received so far.

Elixir B: This skill’s toolbelt skill now accurately reflects only one boon being applied to allied targets.
Mine Field: This skill’s recharge has been reduced to 20 seconds.
Throw Mine: This skill is now unblockable when it detonates.
This is unacceptable, we again received the least amount of fixes.
Why are they buffing skills, fix the broken traits first.
Not going to even bother with this game,
not sure if MMos are for me, seems like a recurring pattern wow,swtor,gw2.

Yes, a key part of our p/p burning build (one of the best condition builds in the game atm) is garbage. Listen to this man.

Wow…this video…if i have only half of the skill of this guy i would be really godmode.
For example,i’m not able to play like him.
I’m still not able to use different kit…and the video you just linked , make me understand how far i am from a good engineer…Anyway,i respect any problem ppls experience with their class,mostly because i have problem too sometime,so i’m able to understand.
Test is a main point of this class.We can do many build,with just a bit of fantasy.
And,like other classes,a cannon build make you die faster.
I told many time,thief or warriors usually die fast with me.Mostly because they run cannon build.
I do with my toughness build only 300 normal hit and 600 critic.
Add my ricket turret(800 dmg every 4 sec+ burning).
Add my elixir B (warning…retalietion returns dmg..this is very effective,and this s why i’m not able to play without it!!).
And in the end i use elixir S to go hide,if it fails i mostly die (the RNG i was refering before…ty Anet,if i was sure of the stability i can use it at the beginning of the fight,as a buff…if i was sure of the hide i should use it in the middle of the finght..but it is random,so make things a bit more complicated ).Now,my 300 normal hit + 800 every 4 sec from rocket turret (and eventually 7 seconds of knockdown if i active secondary skill of turret!!) , + the retaliation return dmg effect…even if i’m full defence build,my dmg is letal!
I can also use elixir X,is deadly..and if i’m buffed up + turrets + retalietion,the elixir X effect is deadly.4 control skills + double of my dmg…
This is why i not agree with ppls asking for mobile turrets…they just need shorter cooldown,and alixirs must be not random,if they want to say “our game have no RNG”.I still cannot manage as you say,other builds(gadgt build or kit build are still to hard to manage for me!).
But this is due to the fact i’m still not really good in my class,but i give my self time,by the way the class is giving me fun even if i use this build i told you.Sorry for my low skilled english,regards!

Try a full knight gold armour + full toughness tree:then go for elixirs,or 2 turrets(rifle and rocket) + elixir S(to have the emergency exit botton ready ;D ).

but I want to know why we are so behind on damage also why is the delivery of our damage so bad. Dont get me wrong, there are some great toughness and healing builds out there. should not be forced to play defensive builds when all the other professions have a choiceI agree, compared to many of the other classes are damage delivery is simply awful. The rifle abilities are poorly done, the pistols don’t deliver as much damage as they should, some of the kits are horrible and poorly done, and many of our abilities don’t work as intended.
A big flaw I see with the engineer is that the kits that provide massive damage are all kits that require you to be within melee range, with the exception of the grenade kit – which is mainly used for multiple targets.
I say remove one of the useless kits and replace it with a kit that allows high damage at long distance to a single target. Something like a sniper rifle kit would be nice.
Here here, on paper engineer has great damage. My problem is the delivery of that damage

why did I not try any of the other classes in beta.
So today I decided to try some of the other classes, finishing there tutorial zones and then jumping the mists. I’ve only tried the Mesmer and warrior so far and boy oh boy we were robbed. These professions have everything the engineer has multiplied by five.
I’m not going to bother to list all the problems the engineer has, as we are all aware of them. unfortunately once all the bugs have been fixed, from what I’ve observed today the engineer will still be far behind the other professions in terms of damage, utility and survivability. This goes for structured PVP and also world versus world, I just honestly don’t know what to say, seriously don’t know what to say.
anyway, just wanted to make this post as I’m so disappointed with the engineer currently. just don’t understand, on this forum we have put in a lot of work trying to learn and improve the builds that are out there. unless arena net greatly increases how effective the engineer is in combat……

No fixes to the current bugs, this is a massive nerf for me, MASSIVE. Can some explain to me why the engineer class was created, seems like we only have rehashed moves of other classes. I think it’s a poor decision to start nerfing classes without firstly fixing the ridiculous amount kitten that and bugs in the trait tree. I call bullkitten

Already tested, you are able to kill players easy 1v1. Remember the theres alot of condition damage on the healing amulet.
Healing aggro, already tested.
With this build you have 7 ways to remove conditions, 4 are AOE.
AOE healing = 1000HPS 2xsuper elixir regen and bomb heal, great for picking up players who are downed.
I have accepted that the engineer is a support class, all I have to do run power/crit to remind me of this. The enemy has to commit 3 players in order to remove you from a point, that alone benefits the team 100x than a squishy hit me twice gg power engineer can.
Any opinions on this build ?

Yeah, I need that pvp wisdom.
I’m trying to find the best setup for the engineer that will allow me to survive multiple opponents attacking at once. As most of the structure PVP maps require us to capture and hold points. I decided to drop all damage stats and invest my points in toughness and vitality, also healing power. I find this style of play more rewarding when compared to the power, precision and condition damage builds.
So I decided to make a little video that shows my current setup in action, I would like to know ways that can improve upon the survivability of this build. Thank you
