Not sure where to post this, so please move it if you need too. I started a regular guild wars account because I am bugged all to hell about achieve points I can’t…. achieve! How do I connect or combine the accounts?

I haven’t seen a rare or exotic drop in three weeks or so let alone an ecto. Had to by 5 yesterday for the first time since launch. Wasn’t happy. Regarding OP though, I hit master crafter without too much of a problem, I did save up the mats for it though. If I had to try and master a craft now without loot dropping, it’d be tough.

Interesting that it took two weeks for me to find this thread… and found it on Reddit.

I’ll start tracking my numbers but I KNOW there is a big difference in loot because I’ve run and documented everything in every zone for my guild’s crafting data.

It’s taking me two to three times the game time to get a good loot sampling. What I do get is junk whites that sell for a handful of copper and some loot bags.

Don’t even start me on dragon/dungeon sub-level blues. But you want concrete evidence. My evidence, the game isn’t that much fun anymore. One glob in weeks out of the three rares I’ve found.

Thank you for a great adventure and I know it was tough to put together and keep running. Sure I ran into problems and bugs but maybe I’m old enough now to not let it embitter me. It’s just the fact of video gaming life. Here are the three highlights of my experience.

1. Ressing the developer Barefoot Contessa! Take THAT!! You sooo got rolled!
2. An upgrade to my equipment that is not only great but NOT a duster/pirate outfit.
3. A 20 slot box. It’s truely one of the things I’ve wanted in game for ages but I will never have the money to get the 10g rune. I’m just an average player, I adventure and admire the world I am in. I am not a min/maxer. (Anymore)

Thank you for the effort, I am a believer that trying is better then nothing. People complaining over an event that brought people together just doesn’t happen in many other games. I know the next (please let there be a next) will be even better and possibly more evil.

Though many documents are updated daily, the two specific food/recipe docs are ready to print. They include the Halloween recipes and the many new Passion Fruit Recipes. The passion Fruit recipes gave us some new combinations of buffs. The food by ingredient is also a great way to train up cooking. It has every known recipe and the correct ingredients.

My name is Lisa and am looking for a group that’s a bit more social. I am an explorer at heart and the Master of Economies. Every game I’ve ever played I pit myself, not against the bad guys but the economy. Then again, I do the same in real life.

There are several zones that drop oranges via bags. In the game documents in my sig are crafting and cooking items per zone and what drops it.

You’re saying that the yellow books are transmutes? To put in a level 80 jewel I have to spend 5g on a backpack? Thanks guys, I was so afraid I’d missed out. Appreciate the help!

Events achievements

I reported this in game as soon as it occured but I’ve never heard back on anything. I’m posting here now in hopes of getting my real book.
I did the book/scavenger quests. All the friends I did it with and then took through the quests all got the upgraded book. Mine however is still green. I never got the upgraded book mailed to me. In my ingame subbmission, I attached a screenshot of the NPC showing the completed quest text. Only thing I have to attach here are the two included screenshots. Please help!

First, I am a female irl. Don’t want you thinking that I need sexy armor because I’m some perv teenage boy.

Leather armor is just unpleasant, there is nothing that stands out. It’s always a long jacket, has horribly ragged or “dirty” looking cut and feel. From the heavy and light armor for female characters that I have seen, your artists do not lack imagination. But a handkerchief over the mouth and a duster constitutes style to strive for? I mean, unless I feel the urge to all out pirate myself.. NOT. The history of leather armor is long and extensive, I know you could certainly come up with far better options. I spent the last two days running mid-level zones looking for heart karma armor skins and they were all dusters with a belted t-shirt. The heavy and light armors I found were pretty kitten cool. So if you feel like giving us some good looking medium armor, I wouldn’t complain! And if you feel particularly artistic, maybe SOME skins could be class based. Steampunk for engineers and ninja-ish for thieves and a loin cloth for rangers. grin

I belong to The Old Timers Guild. We are 25+ all PC/MMO game guild. In total we have over 10,000 members playing many, many games. Just in GW2 we have 1000. We recently had to stop allowing new people to join OTG because, as a fully volunteer driven organization (and not power hungry elitists) with adult members, we can’t get enough officers and leaders to form a third guild since guild max is 500 atm. However, I’ve been watching our extensive list of players and there are many that no longer play, I’m certain of it. If the guild screen showed a join date and a last played date, we could clean out non-players and add other OTG members that want to play GW2 and actually be in a OTG run guild. With such a large and active community of players, we come and go, game to game. But we are always OTG members. And we want to be with the people we know. If we had last played date or number of days since last played, we could contact them via our outside community and see if they are going to coninue to play. If they are not, then that spot could go to someone that recently purchased the game. Help us meet the needs of our gaming community.

Don’t worry too much about being perfect and crafting perfectly in sync. First, enjoy your game and adventure if that’s what you want to do. If you’re a crafter at heart like I am and that crafting IS part of enjoying a game, I imagine you’ll pick it up quickly.

Personally, I farm all my mats. To me, it’s part of crafting. And, I’m a farmer at heart. But I’d suggest learning who and what drops what you need. There are some pretty magical creatures out there that drop variable mats say, versus a spider that only drops venom sacs. Skelk would be a great place to start, they drop salvagable hides, eggs and blood. The blood and hides you can use for tailoring and the eggs can be sold to cooks that need them for wet ingredients.

Humanoids are the other option, they drop bags which will give you all mob/blue dropped mats AND cloth/leather. Then I would salvage everything you lay your hands on at low level unless you can acutally use it. White, blues and greens. Carry many salvage kits with you and deposit directly to the bank and you can stay in a good location for quite awhile.

Before playing with the tradepost, I would definately learn about your posting fees, sales tax and how it rounds up or down. I’ve got two skills left to master and all harvesting was done by my main. I have no problem being in a lower level zone. I just deleted my 300 tailor yesterday cause I decided I didn’t like Asura. So, I’m off to Queensdale at level 80 for mats. Doesn’t phase me or embarress me at all.

In my signature are my documents for crafting. I have complete docs per zone. What drops what and where. From ore and wood to fine materials. Other stuff there too, take a look.

I too dislike it, drag the mouse up.. oops over shoot, drag down, oops up one more.. down.. up.. press the craft button three times because it’s “faster” that the new drag the number up to three feature. Let me have my insert number here box to craft please! Not to mention it’s a bit tough with arthritic fingers!

I couldn’t read all of this as 25 pages eats into my game time. Let me tell you a little bit about one of your players. I’m Lisa, 48 and single. I have a dog and two cats. I was in college before the internet was born and it was a way for us students and staff to communicate. I fell in to video games easily and have played from the day Pong was born. I care for my elderly Mother.

My Mother had a close call in March, CPR, intubation and ICU for over three weeks. But it’s all good, she’s doing great. I had to take out a $20k loan on my own paid for home to pay off her hospital bill. Following me here? I can’t do hundreds of dollars of gems. Catch me in a couple years, but by then I’ll have moved on to another game. But, being a gamer, I’d love to have neat and cool things too. But I struggle just to have money to pay repairs. But see, I give away that which my friends need, I don’t charge them. They need a new backpack, I’ve got your back. You need anything, it’s yours. I love them, I’ve played with these people for going on ten years now. They have jobs, babies and lives. Do you only cater to people that pay you? We could take up a collection so one of us could have something nice. Why should we be penalized for our lack of kitten and playing just for fun? Isn’t that what games are for? As for me, been 80 for a long time and on the way there with alts but I wear a mix of green and yellow. My two gold can’t afford more than that. And, if you read this far. Speaking of kitten could you get rid of the blue WvW dot in PVE! God kitten thing sticks on my map regardless of where the person actually is.

I’ve updated my cooking files to show the buffs and ingredients needed for the new event recipes. I’ve got more to research but have so many other things to do!

Since Ori tools are actually only used on Snow Truffles, Ancient Saplings and the rare Ori Node in Frostgorge, I run only mithril tools unless I’m making a specific trip to Orr. Once there, you use only Ori Sickles for all plants, Mithril for Cypress Saplings and Mithril Ore. So I do swap back and forth, but since I only carry one stack of Ori tools and several Mithral tools, pretty easy to keep them straight. If you check my sig, there are documents for each zone and those items needing Ori tools are documented.

SWG… best crafting ever, next would have to be Eve. This game doesn’t even come close.

Since I am documenting cooking and crafting items and the ever crafty (pardon the pun) RNG, I have harvested thousands of trees in all zones and never once received a vanilla drop from a tree. Cinnamon, Walnuts and Gems. That’s all. Is there info about this somewhere? A screenshot? A zone? I’ll investigate the hell out of it to prove it because it effects my numbers. The two lowest dropping herbs are Chili Peppers (there are exactly three nodes that will drop Peppers in Plains of Ashford) and Vanilla, (Which can drop in several zones) but as stated in MANY posts, we all know that. Check my sig for files on this documentation. I have crafting items per zone and one document on just cooking items.

I have a food locations document that you can download and print. (no tabbing in and out) It’s all post patch and been confirmed by me. These are my results to date and I continue to work on the info crafting has for us. In my sig.

They are correct, walnuts are used in a purchased recipe or dye which you already know and do not need to discover. Green Beans I also believe only has one usable recipe. If you need some recipe locations (I don’t have many yet, just started collecting) or info on food locations, check my signature.

Except for SWG, crafting in MMO’s is essentially the same. Or, I should say the same end product. You and I may play differently, harvest differently and enjoy aspects of each game and crafting system. But when it comes down to the end product, every crafter makes EXACTLY the SAME ITEM. In my recent adventures, I found a great little jewelry recipe on an event summoned vendor for a handful of silver. I thought I had finally found something not everyone else had and rushed back to make said item. It was soulbound. Not even account bound. I couldn’t make them to sell them and offer up something a tad bit different on the market. I have since made an effort to look for more of these hidden recipes and so far all except cooking are soulbound. Since you have no idea what the recipe makes, you have no idea if it would even be good for your crafter. (I try not too google too much and ruin the surprise) But, I think if you’re out adventuring and find these little nuggets, lets us be able to sell them!

There are three lemon vendors, Metrica, Gendarran and Caledon. Oranges drop in loot bags, of the many HUNDREDS of bags I’ve looted to get this info, I’ve never had a lemon drop… lemon drop, now I want candy! See game documents in my sig for a list of post patch karma/harvest and bag food items.

I made a thread here this morning with screenshots of 30 or more bots roaming open areas make the game unplayable and uncompletable. They deleted it, expect this to get deleted. Mine wasn’t just a whine, I had proff of the massive botting in multiple locations. The post didn’t last long.

Both of these posts are excellent and I would like to see even a little expansion to the fine materials as well. Instead of 8 venom sacs and get two set stats and condition damage, I’d love to be able to mix it up a bit. I could see some pretty amazing get-ups with a system like this. And maybe not look like a pirate all the time??

I agree with some of the points here but the only thing I’ll add to the discussion is… the crap we can’t sell, don’t destroy it. Eat it if you’re high enough level for it. There is an achievement for eating food. I shame I spent so much money and karma to make two items. Just logged off in Dredgehaunt looking for that Rosemary…

I don’t believe it’s “down,” I believe it doesn’t work at all. I sent an email requesting a real auth fob several days ago. This was after my guild tested the email auth, we were all able to log in to each others accounts. No one was denied and no one got an email.

This is my email request:
I read your current security information and I did change my password. None of my accounts in any game or website has ever been breached. (knock on wood) In the security article you stated that smart phones will get access to the google auth system. I do not have a cell, I hate them, think they are destroying society!! Okay, just hate them and got rid of mine, happily. I, however still want an authenticator. I buy the fob for EVERY game that uses one. Even my bank uses one. Please, I beg you… give me a real authenticator. Phones get lost, hacked and broken. I work hard on my toons, enjoy gaming and I don’t want to lose my hard work. I happen to know your email auth doesn’t work. A bunch of us tested it. Sorry. We were easily able to login to each others accounts and not one of us got an email let alone denied access. Please keep your community safe! They can’t hack the little fob on my desk.

I know this is not complete yet as I’m not 80. However, I wanted to get this out there and maybe get someone that is higher than I am interested in documenting some of the higher items.

But, for us moderate level users anyway, it’s a start. You will need Excel to view this document I believe. Dunno, I’m very new to this.
