SUMMARY OF FORUM POSTS: Beginning upon the release of the feature patch, multiple people have been experiencing lag in wvw. This includes but is not limited to: skills stop working, players begin running into walls, map does not properly update on time, and siege cannot be properly manned or set. This lag can cause a disconnect error.

In addition, fps have been significantly lowered on multiple persons accounts while in WvW. The average fps seems to be in the twenties now for most people and fluctuating down from there. Pre-patch people were getting 40+ frames.

The above problems occur regardless of ISP, computer type, battle size (Zerg vs Zerg or 3 vs 3 for example), and graphics settings (best performance vs best appearance for example)

The patch today (9/10/2014) seems to have helped some people with the above issues, while harming others further.

PvE/PvP is mostly unaffected, if at all, and what is affected fps-wise is minor compared to World Vs World.

Possible cause of the issue is whatever was done to help gain fps in wvw is actually backfiring on a large scale.

In addition, people are greatly concerned that this problem will extend into the season 3 tournament and/or will be being fixed during the tournament. General consensus seems to be to delay the tournament if this cannot be corrected by the starting day.

I too am experiencing the WvW lag/fps issues. Pre-patch I usually averaged 35-40 fps in wvw. Post-patch I am at an average of 17 fps give or take 10. I love WvW, but this lag and fps rate is pretty much unbearable and makes the game unplayable. In some battles, I would find my skills suddenly stop working. Stability would not go on stand your ground etc. this is a vital skill/boon for me in WvW. If it does not work, I am dead. skill lag was immense. Up to about 2 seconds. I sent in a ticket because no one was mentioning this on the forums, but I later found I was not alone, people across the guild etc were experiencing it too, and worse than me sometimes. If it helps any, I am on the Jade Quarry server. I tried adjusting my graphics settings, checked for viruses, checked comp temperature, ran a hardware scan, tried restarting computer and client. Nothing helped. All other games are unaffected, as well as my internet is fine. Meaning it is a bug somewhere in the system. Hope I was of some help.

In all honesty, if this problem is not solved by tomorrow, I would bet that there will be a major collapse in the player base. Meaning a good chunk of people are either gonna go berserk or quit the game entirely and ruin gw2’s reputation.

I personally understand how hard it is to code and such, so I know it takes time. But at the same time people are right, this is something the testers should have caught, and should have been anticipated. I truly think there is now a 24 hour time limit on this, with a lot on the line.

Topic Summary for Mark Community coordinator to relay to wvw devs:

1) The earlier people completed the meta achievement, the lesser chance they had to get chest. I might have a correlation with the bug.
2) Some people have the wrong tournement place achievement. The zero point AP to show where you ended in wvw spring tournement, is wrong for some people, and almost all of those people didn’t get a chest.
3) Some people who never/very rarely transfer, also got no Chest.
4) People that completed the meta last week/even AFTER the tournement ended, have a very high chance to get the chest.
5) People that transferred seems to be affected a lot also by the bug.
6) Dolly finishers seems to be missing.

Especially point 1 is very pronounced. It seems the server lost track of people who got achievement very fast (1st 3 weeks of tournement). You should start investigation there.

Posting this for devs again. It seems point 2 is becoming more and more pronounced.

I would also add 7) some people who failed to complete the meta, unlocked the chest while people who did may or may not have.

Can we get a little feedback on if there is any back-up plan?

I too have yet to receive my chest even though it says unlocked. I changed from darkhaven to jade quarry due to a guild change two days into the tournament. It said I was associated with darkhaven all through the tournament, even though I did the meta entirely on jade quarry. In addition, my “hidden achievement” says my server came in fourth, which is correct, if I was on darkhaven. Jade quarry was first. I believe I was supposed to slowly re-associate as I did stuff in wvw. Or at least, that is what the battle historian NPC says. But that seems to not be the case.

I completed all the achieves except for the two EoTM ones and the stone mist one if I remember correctly. Not logged in at the moment. I hope this is not a case where a discovered bug is not fixed, like the molten duo in fractals (shockwave jump achieve)

I have had this issue. First, I have to say to check your temperatures on your cpu and gpu. I use the program Speedfan to check mine. It could be your cpu is overheating and down locking, and you are not noticing. Happened to me, and I had to buy a cooling pad. Cooler master u3 is what I bought.

Secondly, I communicated with support for this issue and it seems that for me, my intel had 3000 gpu was running gw2 and not my nvidia. So I recommend checking yours. This is what they had me do to check mine:

“To start, can you “Right-click” on your desktop and select “Nvidia Control Panel.”

Click “Manage 3D Settings” under the heading “3D Settings.”

Next, click “Program Settings” on the right window.

From here, click “Add” then navigate to your Guild Wars 2 folder location, which by default should be C:\Program Files(x86)\Guild Wars 2.

Click on the file “Gw2.exe” to add this to the list.

Lastly, select ’High-Performance Nvidia Processor" from the “Preferred Graphics Processor” drop down menu."

That fixed my issue for now at least. I hope this helps you

Yo. Some of you on the darkhaven server may have seen me around as Yoshiro Dokuganryu, my main guardian. I will keep this as brief as possible.

What I am looking for in a guild
1. One that is well established. Not really looking for start-ups…sorry.

2. One that is not hardcore. I don’t mind some requirements. Just nothing elitest.

3. A mainly pve focus guild. I do it all, wvw, pve, dungeons, a little structured pvp, and like to switch it up sometimes, not be confined to just wvw etc.

4. A guild where members coordinate well.

Bonus points if your guild utilizes Teamspeak3 and if they do guild missions like bounty etc.

A little about me… To see if you think I can fit in.

I have been playing for just under a year now, I have crafted a legendary (twilight), and I recently hit 5k achievement points, so not to worry, I know my way around the game.

I am willing to transfer servers and I will represent full-time.

I am pretty laid back and I love to help other players. I try to be kind and considerate, as players should.

I view that work comes before play. So if I have work to do, I may have to miss guild coordinated events, but in all my time playing this has only happened twice.

I have 3 level 80’s: a thief for wvw, a guardian for pve, and my newest is a warrior who is a mix. I have 3 other characters but they are not close to being level 80 yet.

I am on the Darkhaven server. I too am experiencing horrible lags then disconnect. It does not matter what map I am on or where I am. Some days I can do larger events like fire elemental just fine, others I get kicked right as it spawns to character selection, and by the time I get back in, Fire elemental is down. It is not just fire elemental. I fought 3 inquest units a half-hour ago and it kicked me yet again. It usually starts to lag a bit, then freeze as if all the characters just wanted to look at each other. Then it catches up on all the attacks and somebody winds up dead. Usually the NPC, but sometimes me. Other times it will give me an error message and either go to the character select screen or to a black screen. If it goes to the black screen, it has ambient sounds from the game, but acts as if it is frozen. It is making this game annoying and hard to play.
I regret that I do not have the error code, but I remember the error message read along the lines of “could not communicate with client logon server.” even though I was already logged in and playing for a while (about two hours). I tried adding " -authsrv 64.25.38.54 " as was suggested in another bug forum, but that did not help… Any and all help is appreciated.

My computer is an Alienware M17x and my router is only a month old, and I assure you it is not my ISP. I also checked my firewall to see if it was causing the problem, by turning it completely off for 20 minutes. Within 5 minutes, I was kicked. This problem started three days ago for me. Some people have had it longer or shorter. Please help me and many others, who are also becoming aware they are not the only ones with this problem, fix this soon.

Attached is a pic of the error message I have received 100% of the time. It then has the ambient sounds, music, and now an arrow on a black screen when I hit ok.
