Dailies and Monthlies are easier because you have more than 5 options to do them. I completed this monthly completely by accident and a lot of people who don’t do them on purpose are still completing them anyway.
This means more mystic coins in the system and so the price has been steadily dropping every since the multiple option daily/monthly was introduced.
Flipping is buying low and selling normal, anyone selling high isn’t doing it right.
Flipping is also entirely harmless, in fact it’s marginally helpful. To acquire items to flip you need to be paying the most for it, which benefits anyone selling. To sell those items you need to have the lowest price, which benefits anyone buying.
At no point is anyone hurt by flipping. I can only buy and sell at what people are willing to accept.
Yeah they were on sale yesterday, you missed it.
People sell Precusors for what other people think they’re worth. If the price goes up it’s because people are willing to pay more.
Why would ANet do anything about this? The whole point of the Trading Post is you sell things for what you think people will pay. If 600G is too expensive no one will buy it and eventually they’ll be forced to lower the price. If it isn’t too expensive there’s no issue.
Sell level 80 blue and green armours and weapons to a vendor, no one is going to buy them on the trading post because there’s such a massive supply from people doing Dungeons that they’re all but worthless.
Sell everything else on the trading post. Make sure to set the price to the lowest Seller, not the highest bidder. You’ll have to wait a little bit for the money but you’ll nearly always sell and you get an awful lot more this way.
There’s probably a few exceptions to this rule but I can’t think of any off the top of my head.
The 5% fee needs to be there so people take the Trading Post seriously. If there was no risk to posting Sell orders you’d lose nothing trying to milk every last bit of silver out of people. At worst you fail to shift the item and repost it with a slight discount until it eventually sells to someone who doesn’t have the patience to wait for further price drops.
With a 5% cut you’re encouraged to post items at a price you think will actually sell, rather then holding onto hope of that one person with more money than sense.
